Welcome to Barker's Meow!

Don't let then name fool you; we love all animals but only allow dogs to visit due to the fact that some guest's do have allergies to cats. (note: this home has check in/out day of Saturdays during late spring, summer and right after summer)

This home offers you 4 bedrooms (two with ocean views), 2 baths, a family room with gorgeous ocean views, a perfect room to watch the games with a very LARGE tv, sofa (and of course a leather recliner), FIREPLACE and additional seating. Don't worry about hauling wood; the fireplace is gas. Cozy and easy.

Our kitchen allows you to cook while enjoying the ocean views and socializing; all at the same time.

Everyone can dine together at our wonderful dining table; custom made for us.
Relax for hours in a rocking chair and watch the dolphins from our large screened in porch with ample seating; six rocking chairs, love seat, table and chairs for bistro dining.

Go for a swim in the ocean and return to enjoy our outdoor enclosed hot and cold shower to get that sand off before entering the house. Take a hour or two and relax in the hammock in the shade or sit on the swing and sway to the sound of ocean waves. This is how to really relax.

Perfect spot!

We were just across the street from the beach and just minutes away from everything else. The house was perfect for our family. The kids loved the bunk beds and the ice cream truck. We all had a blast. Thanks so much for the perfect spot!

This house was perfect for our vacation. The views are amazing. The house feels ocean front! The kitchen is well stocked, which is great because we love to cook! The house is so spacious and comfortable. 10/10 would do it again!

Absolutely Wonderful

Barkers Meow was fantastic we really enjoyed staying here our family had many breakfast lunch and dinners either out on the screened in porch or the huge table in the kitchen. It’s a beautiful home we loved it

Perfect vacay

Wonderful ocean view stay!

First start by saying we have stayed at over 10 different places over the years and my husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this home! You are practically ocean front but without the ocean front price tag! The porch is absolutely lovely, the view extends into the cozy living room and bedrooms! We will certainly try to book this home for all of our stays moving forward!

Wonderful location. Close to all restaurants and local attractions. Truly still a family beach. Amazing sunrises! Barkers Meow had enough room for our family. Loved the screen porch. Beach just right across the street. Could hear the waves.

Loved this beach house

Great house for large families. Loved the man cave for the ones keeping up with sports. The living room spacious and comfortable for conversations and the screened porch is wonderful to sit and listen to the ocean. Would definitely rent again.

Edisto vacation

The home was very clean and the location was great.We enjoyed the beach, relaxing and reading. We go to Edisto every year and really enjoy the island. The only downsides were the lack of a tv in the main living area and the noise from the window air conditioners. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

Great place that just needs a few updates

We enjoyed our time. The things we needed addressed with the house, the property management quickly sent someone to address. Once these were done, our stay was seemless. We are looking into coming back again real soon. We truly loved our time here. And best part? You have direct access to the beach right across the street. There’s no house in front of the property so it’s basically beach front!

A wonderful week!

We loved our week at Barker's Meow! The view of the ocean and being able to hear the waves even when it was too windy or rainy to be on the beach was fantastic!! The kitchen was well stocked with all we needed to cook at home. And there were great games and puzzles for when the weather did not cooperate! We would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful house in an ideal location!

Barker's Meow was just what we needed for our family vacation! With 5 adults and 2 preschoolers,there was lots of room to spread out, relax, and play. The path to the beach is directly across the street from the house, so the quick access to the beach made it very easy to come and go throughout the day. The ocean view from the screened porch is stunning! We had everything we needed, and we hope to return!

Wonderful stay - greatbplace

House was just as described. Comfortable decks with great view of the ocean. As a courtesy, we reported a small leak behind a toilet (didn’t affect us), landlord was very responsive in both calls and text. Easy to deal with. We would love to rent this again.

Great Location - Views were wonderful - Nice place

We stayed at Barkers Meow in April 2022. The house is nice, the room set up would be great for multiple families. The house is very open concept which is nice since we have 3 children. Great beach access and wonderful views. I wish their was a king size bed in the master bedroom. Communication with property manager was great and we got a lot of good resources since we had never been to Edisto before. Island was small, walkable, and nice - we would definitely visit again.

Very Nice Long Stay

My wife and I (along with our 14 year old pup) spent the entire month of February at Barker's Meow, with a few visitors along the way. It is a very nice house house with a great layout and very clean. Also the best set of pots and pans we've had at any of our past rentals. This was our 4th year coming to Edisto Beach from Pittsbugh. No major problems along the way, although we think some overall attention to general upkeep and maintenance, particularly in the bathrooms, might make this home even better, especially for longer renters. Loved the fireplace on chilly nights. Also want to give a shout out to Charlie, the general maintenance guy who stopped by to drop off a light bulb and even helped unload the car of one of our visitors. It was also Charlie who helped jump my car's dead battery 2 years ago. Thanks again, Charlie! You're the best!

Family and Friends retreat to the beach

Actually more space than expected, with back living area that could be closed off. General cleanliness good, however, floor boards and walls (use Mr. clean sponges) with children's foot prints to the side of beds could have been cleaned up. The bathroom was clean and the fresh, clean shower curtains were thoughtful. Lots of dinner ware (but should get rid of the plastic that previous folks have microwaved and blistered -- not good for eating on). LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the porch. Damaged chair was called into PM early in visit and never repaired. GREAT shower downstairs -- essential when coming in from the beach. Lots of extra paved room on beach level to leave beach items away from street view. GREAT location.

Edisto Beach Vacation Rentals saved our beach trip!

My daughter and I rented a house from Vacasa for a week of Mother Daughter time with our dogs. We found the Vacasa house to be unlivable when we arrived, it was filthy. We checked into to a hotel with two dogs and frantically looked for a replacement house. Luckily I found this rental house on Edisto Beach and it was available. The company worked with me late in the evening and early the next day to see that we had all we needed to get into the Barkers Meow on very short notice. The house was exactly as stated, we had lunch, cocktails and painting classes on the screened in front porch with a magnificent view of the ocean. We cooked our meals in kitchen and conveniently washed clothes when we needed to. Edisto Island was a beautiful place to walk for miles with our dogs. Everyone we met was very accommodating and friendly. We will return to Edisto and we will be renting from Edisto Beach Vacation. Rentals.

Restful and enjoyable!

Thank you for making Barkers Meow available to us this October. The home was well laid out and sustained an enjoyable week. The screened in porch was a highlight with a beautiful view of the ocean since no homes were in front of us and the cool breeze each morning and evening. The kitchen performed well with an sizable refrigerator and coffee maker options. The beds were restful and couch in the main room was very relaxing. Thank you again and we will be in touch in the future.

Great week! Weather was perfect and loved the house!

Wonderful as always.

We love this house.New rocking chairs. The best view of the Ocean. We saw the 4-Sale sign in the lot across the street. We hope it does not sale, because of the view of the ocean. This is probably stayed here 3 or 4 times and love it. It was clean and no problems at all.

Can we just stay there forever? Wonderful visit- definitely coming back.

This place was absolutely wonderful and exceeded our expectations. Not much could have improved our stay other than to have stayed longer! The photos do this place no justice at all. It is so much nicer in person than we expected. The location is perfect. You can sit on the screened in front porch, or in the living area and see the ocean. We were able to watch the seagulls and pelicans right from the couch while drinking coffee. There is plenty of seating and space because there are 2 living areas and 2 tables and barstools. We have a large family and this was ideal to eat dinner together and play games. The house has a well stocked kitchen, games and books, and all of the furniture is comfortable. Our son played darts with his wife for hours. The bedding is comfortable and there is plenty of sleeping space. Most of the rooms have ceiling fans and the AC kept the house very comfortable. Everything was clean when we arrived. Wi-Fi was quick and easy to connect to. Downstairs there are some beach chairs and items and an additional fridge that made it easy to keep enough ice for our beach coolers. There is a private outdoor shower , and 2 additional hoses that were handy to hose sand off of the dog. Everyone enjoyed the swing and one of our kids actually fell asleep on the hammock. This place is ideal for families with dogs because not only are they dog friendly, but there is a large back yard to walk and play in. The management company was very convenient to communicate with through email and provided extra info about the area. A note for anyone that has never been to Edisto- the whole island is quiet and not “touristy”, a great place to visit for a slower pace. However there is only a small Food Lion grocery store and limited restaurants, so plan on bringing in groceries and cooking in. We had an “adventure” trying to eat Sunday because the few restaurants had long wait times, or were closing early. We ended up riding up to Hollywood to shop for groceries at the Piggly Wiggly. We had good experiences eating dinner at Coot’s, ice cream at 3 Gulls Creamery and dinner at Dockside. Everything else about Edisto is ideal though.
