Comfy bungalow, short walk to beach

Super-clean, comfortable getaway for one-month minimum stays. Two-bedroom, one-bath house sleeps four adults, with the option of also having one child or small adult on a cot. The Beachwalk House is a few minutes stroll from the ocean's edge in New Smyrna Beach and only a 10- to 15-minute walk from a supermarket, restaurants and stores. Walk or drive one mile to Flagler Avenue for its funky shops and nightlife.

Our dog-friendly home has ceramic tiling, an indoor laundry room with full washer, dryer and utility sink, a tiled and screened back porch and a fully fenced and shaded backyard. If you are bringing a dog, please provide information about its breed and size for prior approval. We typically limit guests to one pet. If a second dog is approved in advance, there will be an additional $100 fee. Sorry, but no cats are allowed.

Guests have plenty of room to spread out in 1,010 square feet of living space, with free wireless internet, central air/heat, ceiling fans in each bedroom and a screened, tiled porch. You'll find everything you need to feel at home. The house is one level, with only one low step at entry doorways.

Located in a quiet residential area, the home is close to New Smyrna's attractions but secluded enough to hear the ocean's waves at night.

The living room has comfortable seating for five, a big-screen cable TV, a DVD player and selection of DVDs, books, puzzles, cards and board games. The roomy kitchen and adjacent dining area, with seating for six, make it easy to prepare food and gather for meals or for board games. You bring the food and we'll supply everything else: dishes, glassware, pots, pans, utensils, cleaning supplies, a dishwasher and small and large appliances. A wide counter with two bar stools separates the kitchen from the dining area.

The house has an attached single-car carport and a deep double wide driveway. The bathroom has a tub with shower, plus basic toiletries and a hair dryer. An outdoor unheated shower head makes it easy to wash off sand from the beach. All linens, bath towels and beach towels are provided, as are a beach umbrella, beach chairs, body boards and beach toys. An ironing board and iron also are provided.

The master bedroom has a queen bed, cable TV, and an antique desk that converts to a lit vanity table. The second bedroom has twin beds plus an Ikea chair that folds out to a cot if needed for a child or small adult.

A favorite spot at day's end is the roomy screened porch off the dining room, which overlooks the shaded backyard and large bay oak trees.

A short boardwalk at the east end of the street takes you over the dunes to the ocean's edge. Or, if you want, you can pack surfboards, body boards, fishing poles, picnic lunch and other gear in the car and drive right onto our smooth-surfaced beach from the nearby Third Avenue or Flagler Avenue beach entrances, where a daily fee is charged. The beach has a gentle incline into the water, making it easy to wade, swim or ride the waves.
