NEW THIS SEASON… fresh paint in and outside, updated bathroom, new outdoor shower, hammocks to relax under the deck and many little things! Come on down you will LOVE IT! Wonderful ocean side cottage with amazing canal and sunset views that feature an open floor plan ready for you and your family to enjoy and make memories. Pirates are my passion and so is making a comfortable place for you and your family to truly enjoy the serenity of Carolina Beach. From it's old fashion board walk to the close proximity to Wilmington everyone will find something that they love about coming to the beach! Just some of the amenities:
1. Enclosed Outdoor shower with HOT water!
2. Storage space downstairs - bring your bike! It also has a variety of beach essentials and toys.
3. Huge deck with great views of the canal. There is a picnic table for dinner or lunch and chairs for relaxing. The breeze is amazing.
4. Open living area with HUGE sectional sofa and dining for six. Look at the photos - it doesn't do it justice.
5. Expanded cable with Wireless Internet.
6. Open kitchen with stainless steel appliances.
7. Expanding pots and pans for cooking meals at home. Save $$$!
8. Front Porch to RELAX as the sunsets
9. Decked out Pirate Bathroom - arrrrgh.
10. Washing Machine and Dryer.
11. Covered parking.
12. So close to the beach.
13. North End Minimart for all those missed items only a block away. They have great coffee. Oh, you forgot butter - check out the store!
14. Excellent HVAC system for comfortable air.
15. Ceiling fans in both bedrooms.
16. Double master with queen size beds in both rooms. One has a TV with expanded cable.
17. Pet friendly (just be nice and pick up after...poop isn't pretty!).
18. Board games just in case you want some family fun!
19. Across from public access deck on the canal - you can watch the boats go by on Dingy Dock.
20. A yard with gas grill - cook out!
21. Two Swings below to enjoy the ocean breeze

23. Yard to play in...buy a temp pool if you want to. It works! :)

Had a great time, the living room was huge and gave the kids plenty of space to play while the grown ups relaxed! Very close to the beach made it easy to come and go. Plenty of ammemities and things at the house to make staying there a breeze, the outdoor shower was very nice for rinsing off after going to the beach.

The house was perfectly located to everything that makes a beach vacation fun. Close to the beach, restaurants, kayak drop in, and so much more. The house had everything we needed. I would recommend this house to everyone. Would love to come back. Deck views were beautiful and our dogs had plenty of room inside and out. The host was very responsive. 10/10!

Host was very responsive. Had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the ease of getting over to the beach. Pet friendly and nice decks to relax on to watch the day go by. the gates on the deck was nice to have our pup outside with us and not have to worry about here wondering off. the latched gates kept her on the deck so she could dry out after playing on the beach and allowed us to sit and relax without her wandering off. Lots of restaurants in a reasonably short walk, if you are up for walking in the Carolina's during summer! 98F and 90% humidity is home to me, but that 0.7 miles in those temps, and all the parking basically being paid parking, be prepared. Would definetely recomend.

We came here with my daughter and some of her friends for her 16th birthday. The check in did not go so well when we were sent all the info for the incorrect place and people were in the home and it took almost an hour to figure it all out. We eventually were given the correct info for the place that was booked and it was right down the street so not too bad of an adjustment. The place was great once we got there and settled. Super close to the beach and great porch right outside of kitchen/living area. Ice maker didn't work so just bought multiple bags of ice which was fine. Thank you for having us in your vrbo.

The house is the perfect size for a family who wants to stay at the beach. The kitchen was well stocked and the views were great! We’d love to come back again!

Super easy check in and out. Loved the property and how close it was to the beach. It's also very difficult to find a house with a dog who is a barker, but since this is far enough away from others he could bark his heart out. Loved the porch and the house was very beach friendly. Parking was the easiest I've seen at Carolina as well.

Loved the Location

Beautiful sunsets over the canal & easy beach access made this a great place to stay. Nice roomy accommodations. We loved the deck on warm days, tho with all the breeze it tends to get dirty out there

The upgrades were nice..clean, nice tv, roku update. Mattresses need upgraded would be my only recommendation. Would recommend to anyone.

Amazing location

You cannot get a better location for the price. You can see the beach from the balcony and a corner store half a block away. Very quiet and safe neighborhood. Great house for small kids or babies.

Great Stay

This property could not be more convenient to everything we needed. It is in a great location. We are a family of 4 plus our dog. Kids are 5 and 7. Beach access was so easy and the main drag/boardwalk are minutes away. The property provided everything we needed.

Perfect last minute spring house for our family! Location is great, just a quick block walk to the beach and views of the canal from the deck. We loved the deck and sat out there often, our dog especially loved laying out there, and there is a gate so it was perfect for her. It is also centrally located between the pier and the boardwalk so we were able to bike to both. North End mini mart is right in front and we had coffee from there everyday. (It is currently under construction so there is some construction debris and such next door at the moment).The house over all was clean, cute and well stocked. I loved that even the couches had sheets available in the closet. One child did sleep on the couch and he loved it. The outdoor shower is a great addition. Lots of items in the closet below you can use such as corn hole.Rebecca is a wonderful host, she knew we were coming in late and left a light on for us. She is very responsive to messages and questions and even had new bags for the corn hole sent over when we asked. If we return to Caroline Beach in the future we would rent this home again.

This was our first trip to CB. Thank you, Rebecca, for this rental. We were so pleased. Description of the property was accurate. It was a great location and perfect for my family. Best Place to Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pirate's Pad over July 4th weekend. The house is so clean. Most appliances/furniture are new. The furniture is comfortable. There is grass for our little dog to enjoy. What a cozy place! The location of the house is also very convenient--1 min walk to the Kupboard grocery store, 2 min walk to the beach, and ~15 min (<1 mile) walk to the restaurants by the boardwalk area. No need to worry about driving places and having to find parking. This is our new favorite place to stay of all the beaches in NC! We will come back next year!

Location is A+ Home is a D

Location is perfect - walkability score is 10/10. Quite neighborhood with friendly people. Home desperately needs deep cleaning and is in disrepair. It's neither attactive or comfortable. Couch is dirty & stained. Bathroom rugs were filthy. Walls, cabinets & doors are a mess. Bathroom fixtures are coming out of the wall. Water roaches were really bad. Just very disappointed and cannot recommend.

I hate you were unsatisfied with your stay. Each time you contacted me I tried to resolve the issue quickly and would have sent the cleaners back if you had contacted me before you left about the cleanliness. All the best in your future travels.

We would love to stay here again

Jane was great with communicating with me before our stay, during and after. Thank you Jane! I was able to text her my suggestions on improving the property. She was available and quick to respond. We stayed here during the recent Tropical Storm Ophelia (?), 9/21/23, and while we were indoors for a couple of days, the place was insulated well, and it was pretty neat to listen to how the weather played out. Keep in mind to those expecting a ‘castle’, that this property has more of the beach cottage vibe. It was what we wanted. There were three adults and our mini dog, a service dog, and it helped having a washer n dryer on-site. The coffee and mini store behind this property, made me a couple great omelettes! Thank you for sharing your property with us!

Hambrick Beach Trip

If I could, I would have taken the home back to Virginia with me. It is exactly what I am looking for! I loved the beach home and the location! So close to the beach and watching the boats in the canal with the lights at night - beautiful! It was a perfect set up for us because our basset hound is almost completely blind and she was able to maneuver the house so well. No inside steps were great too! The outside porch was perfect to sit on and read or watch the thunderstorms pass by. We had NO BUGS!!! It was amazing! I also liked this stretch of beach because it is wide and smooth and with a lifeguard. We really appreciated the Italian Ice guy who rolled by on the beach everyday!! I will definitely be coming back to this home! It was our first time at Carolina Beach and we loved it. I will spread the word to all of my friends. Thanks so much for letting us stay in your home!

Hi Kay, We might have to fight if you decide to take the Pirate's Pad. It's my retirement home - one day. If you noticed the back I am going to put an elevator in one day when old age sets in, but I fell in love with it the moment I got the chance to view it. I love the open space in the living area. I am so excited to share with you my experience of buying a home away from home. As a high end apartment manager located in Raleigh, NC, I've always had the pleasure of living on-site. With that thought process in mind, I turned my home purchase towards the beach so that my friends and I could have a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! Here you'll find our adventures and we hope that you will add your own!

I personally love being in a single family home at the beach. This one is something special - it has a cool little shop that sales beer, chips and soda (ice too) in the backyard during the summer, yes the backyard. You even have to pass it on the 30 foot walk to the beach. The second thing I love the most is the view. I love seeing all the action around me. From the boats on the canal to watching the folks pass by coming from the North End drive out there is some amazing people watching. No matter whether it's cold or hot, I love it here. There is a reason it's call Paradise Island and I fully understand it! I also enjoy the local flare. From the great restaurants like Michael's Seafood to Seawitch Cafe and Tiki Bar you just can't beat this laid back island. In the winter, you should check out the Island of Lights. The locals really get into this and it's amazing to see the ocean in the winter with all the lights and Christmas Flare at the Boardwalk!

If you are looking to relax, you've landed in the right place. You'll love relaxing in this like new two bedroom one bath cottage. After visiting Carolina Beach as a child, I fell in love with this beach and I've taken all my likes from the other condos and put them into this space. I went to ECU and have a huge flare for Pirate Stuff. You’ll notice it here.
