We are still in love with the beautiful landscape and towns of this oart of Andalucía. Its best of all through autumn winter abd spring with fabulous weather. There is so much variety and so many places to visit . Close to Alora and the amazing Caminito Del Rey, Casa Los Olivos is a spacious and very comfortable country house full of rustic charm in the Guadalhorce Valley. In addition to the Caminto del Rey, (book on line) listed in the top 5 things to do in the world by lonely planet,there is sport climbing at El Chorro and water sports at the Ardales Lakes. For walkers there are countless walks in the most beautiful mountains, hills and valleys to suit all levels of interest and fitness. Only 3 km from Álora, 40 minutes from Málaga airport and the Mediterranean Sea it offers an ideal holiday location of extraordinary diversity and rural Spanish charm.
The house has traditional Spanish rustic features and is equipped to the highest standard of modern convenience making it suitable for a family or two couples and is built to full wheelchair standards.
The large living and dining area has a vaulted beamed roof, terracotta floor, wood stove, TV via Internet (bring your HDMI connector) Books and DVDs are available and Wi Fi internet access. The kitchen is open plan and fully equipped. The pool has a gated enclosure for child safety, and lots of garden furniture. There is a table tennis table - great fun for all. All you need to feel at home: We provide a welcome pack so you have a snack and something to drink on arrival, and for late arrivals we ensure there is something for breakfast. However please note we don’t accept arrivals after 11 pm .We also provide essential larder items and kitchen basics , and hand sanitizers. The pool has a covered pergola which provides shade all morning through to about 3 pm. The terrace is south east facing, and the terraces and garden gets afternoon and evening sun. The top terrace gives you amazing views over the valley to El Torcal and to El Chorro.

Activities: country sports, water sports, tickets to The Alhambra and the Picasso Museum - Cycling, walking, horse riding, golf, And climbing are the most popular sports in this area. Walking, bird watching, touring the white towns and exploring the Guadalhorce Valley - there truly is something to suit everyone in this rural location - including easy access to Cordoba, Malaga, Ronda, Granada and the wonderful countryside of Andalucia. The new AVE means Madrid is only 2 1/4 hours away from Malaga (cheapest if booked in advance on the internet) and if you are here for a longer stay we recommend a trip to Tarifa for whale watching, a tour up the coast of the Costa de la Luz - a stop over in the beautiful Vejer de la Frontera, a visit to the amazing Jerez - the bodegas and the Andaluz Equestrian School, and return via Arcos de la Frontera and Ronda.

Improvements: We are always working on improvements. This year we have refurbished the shower room and have a semi enclosed dedicated fitness area to the rear of the casita. Small weights, table tennis and dart board. On the top terrace we have seating with fantastic views across to La Huma, El Torcal and over the Guadalhorce Valley. We had a lovely stay. We arrived late and were delighted to have a really helpful welcome pack waiting for us. The property is fully accessible and very comfortable. Helen and Alan were excellent hosts and we would certainly recommend them.

Alora stay

We really enjoyed our stay. Well stocked fridge on arrival, lots of towels for bathrooms and pool. More than enough space to have peace and quiet when needed. Helen and Alan were excellent hosts and provided much needed help fixing a car problem that we had. All in all, a great holiday stay.

A perfect spot!

We have stayed at Casa Los Olivos twice. This is an excellent property, much better equiped than the information on your website would suggest. A lovely spot, with most helpful and welcoming owners. We cant wait to come back and would not hesitate to reccomend it to all, it is perfect for couples, families with small children, disabled and anyone who wants comfort in a beautiful setting.

Perfect get away in the beautiful and peaceful outskirts of Alora.

Wonderful stay, Helen was so welcoming when we arrived later on and provided food for the evening and morning so we didn' t have to worry ourselves. Very considerate we thought. The villa is so nice, beds are super comfy. The place is spotless,and fresh. The pool, what can I say, fabby?? I could go in, we would defiantly rent this Host and. Prpeety

Absolutely fantastic property in a stunning location...the photos do not show how beautiful it is. Helen and Alan are extremely welcome and on hand with advice and travel tips but never intrusive and provided an extremely thoughtful welcome pack of drinks, food and snacks, when we arrived.. The pool is excellent and available at all times and plenty big enough for a family...(deep end is approx 6 foot). There are great facilities to use, we loved the dart board and table tennis and a choice of 2 barbecues...there are so many lovely outside areas within the property to hang out , we were often in a dilemma where to sit! Highly recommended we would definitely stay again. Thanks to Helen and Alan for making us so welcome

Wonderful!

We had an amazing three weeks in Los Olivos and Helen and Alan are such lovely hosts, who welcomed us and were always on hand to help, offer advice and suggestions, without being in any way intrusive. They provided a really helpful welcome pack. The villa has everything you could possibly need and feels like a real home rather than just a rental property. The pool and surrounding garden are beautiful, and there are several seating areas which means there is always shade when needed and spectacular views from the upper pathways. Access to the property is good from Alora which is the nearest town and only a short drive away. Thank you Helen and Alan for everything - in all our holidays in Spain over the last ten years you have been the best hosts! Rosemary and Ian

Comfortable, private, and spacious, with a distinctive Spanish flavour, convenient to local town and facilities. From our first contact, Helen was helpful, providing us with all the info to get us to the property and enjoy it. She and Alan were delightful hosts, and coudn't have been more helpful during our visit. The property is well-appointed, with everything we needed during our stay, and nothing omitted. It was spacious and open plan, with a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. The grounds are well cared for, with a delightful pool, comfortaable seating in sun or shade, and has pleasant views of the sierra. We came for a relaxing break in the sun, afer a stressful extended period. We hope another stay will allow us to see some of the many local amenities. Table Tennis pensioners

Much better than the advert. Brilliant for 2 couples or families. Spotless and well maintained. Helen and Alan perfect hosts - thanks for all your help. We would definitely recommend the property to friends. We loved the fact the the local village of Alora was not very touristy and the scenery up the valley at El Chorro amazing. We didn't take our swimming gear as it was only March but we wished we had. The table tennis table was a real treat. We hadn't played for years but a glass of wine and a tournament before dinner was great. I do think that having your own transport is probably quite important. Highlights were walking in El Chorro, El Torcal and the local hills, visiting the Alhambra at Granada, Malaga on the train and Ronda. Thanks again

Alora's Heavenly Villa

We had a fab 1 week stay at this property, and have to say that it was a first class experience right from the initial booking with great communication from Owners Helen and Alan. We were two couples and decided not to hire a car as we were going for a relaxing week and didn't intend doing much while there, Helen helped with us booking a return taxi from Airport to Villa and continued to be helpful with our shopping needs too which we really appreciated. Helen and Alan were on hand if we needed them but never intrusive. The villa has everything you need for a perfect holiday, and is of a very high standard and very comfortable. The Pool is to die for.... very clean and spacious and we made great use of it every day, and use of the BBQ most days. If you are looking for something in the thick of things with loads to do then I would say its maybe not for you, if you are looking for a relaxing heaven then we would thoroughly recommend this place. We felt that we arrived as guests and left as friends.. Thank you for everything from Helen, Steve, Paula & Nigel x

Endroit à choisir pour passer d'excellentes vacances en Andalousie

La propriété est très spacieuse , très propre et offre un maximum de confort pour 2 couples. Du jardin, les paysages environnants sont absolument superbes! Les hôtes sont très organisés et disponibles à tout moment. Nous recommandons absolument cet endroit où nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable!!!

Tolles Haus, perfekte Gastgeber

Wir waren zu zweit im März 2023 in diesem wunderbaren Haus und haben von dort aus das schöne Andalusien erkundet. Für den schönen Pool war es noch zu kühl, aber Haus und Hof sind großzügig mit viel Platz. Schöne überdachte Sitzecken, die Küche ist vollständig ausgestattet. Die Gastgeber, Helen und Alan sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit - und dennoch unaufdringlich. Es war eine sehr erholsame Zeit!

Haus in Alora

Helen und ihr Mann sind sehr nette Gastgeber, sie wohnen direkt neben der Unterkunft. Da wir spät ankamen haben sie Lebensmitteln eingekauft, somit wir etwas essen konnten. Es ist eine liebevolle, gepflegte Anlage. Die Betten sind super bequem und auch sonst haben wir in der Küche und in der Einrichtung nichts vermisst!!! Der Pool ist super. Leider waren wir mitten in den Sommerferien dort und da das Haus keine Klimaanlage hat war es permanent zwischen 31 und 33 Grad im Haus. Das öffnen der Fenster in der Nacht hat keinerlei Abkühlung verschafft. Aus diesem Grund kommt diese Haus für uns nicht mehr in Betracht. Danke Helen & Alan für die nette Gastfreundschaft.

Eine schöne Finca bei Alora

Wer diese Finca bucht kann einen schönen Urlaub beim Ort Alora machen. Die Gastgeber Helen und Kirk sind zuvorkommend und sorgsam und helfen bei Problemen und Fragen gern und ausführlich. Die Privatsphäre wird anstandslos repektiert. Die Finca liegt etwas abseits des Ortes, und hat alles was man benötigt wie auch z.B. Waschmaschine und Geschirrspüler. Es ist eine idealer Ausgangspunkt um auch entferntere Ausflüge zu machen.

Alldeles utomordentlig villa

Allt var precis så bra man kan önska sig. Huset har all man kan behöva för att ha lata dagar. Det var även sköna sängar och utsikten är fantastisk. Dessutom är värdparet oväntat trevliga och hjälpsamma. Vi hade lite frågor och svaren kom snabbt, liksom tips på vad vi kunde göra. Det enda vi har hittat som inte var på topp var de slöa knivarna i köket :) Men allt annat fanns för den matlagningsglade hemmakocken. Om vi åker tillbaka till Andalusien vet vi precis var vi kommer att bo!

Lovely private spot in a beautiful area

We stayed with our small family of four for four weeks in this beautiful spot. It is remote, but about 3kms from the town of Alora. Enough restaurants around. The house itself is spacious and all modern appliances are available as is a great pool. The garden is beautiful and private and secure. The town and surroundings are beautiful. Especially El Torro, La Isla, El Torcal, but also the small town of Alora and somewhat bigger Ronda. Malaga is onlya train ride away. We enjoyed very much and regretted that we had to leave as the hosts are also such lovely people!

Blissful and idyllic and just what was needed.

Casa Los Olivos was everything you want in a holiday property from the comfort of the beds to the fabulous pool to cool off in, to the magnificent views from the various terraces to watch the sun go down or the sun come up. Helen and Alan are fabulous hosts and have really thought about everything to ensure you have a fantastic holiday. There is so much to see and do around Andalusia but the wonderful weather and comfortable surroundings at Casa Los Olivos ensured that relaxing, reading, swimming and eating was just as enjoyable.

Erholung in schöner Umgebung

Wir verbrachten eine wunderbare Woche als Gäste von Alan & Helen. Nach einem stressigen Arbeitsjahr war das Ferienhaus genau das Richtige für uns: Besonders gefallen hat uns die Ruhe und die idyllische Umgebung. Da wir ohne Auto waren, verbrachten wir die Woche mit Lesen, Schwimmen und Tischtennis, und es wurde uns nicht langweilig. Alan und Helfen waren sehr gute Gastgeber, aufmerksam, um die Gäste bemüht, aber doch sehr diskret. Sie halfen uns mit dem Einkaufen - der Weg ins Àlora ist zwar nicht lang, es gibt aber kein Fußgängerstreifen, wenn man also die Umgebung erkunden will, braucht man ein Auto - Alan brachte uns anschließend zum Bahnhof und half mit den Koffern. In Àlora bekommt man alles, was man braucht, übrigens günstiger als in Deutschland. Das Ferienhaus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und eigentlich schöner als auf den Foto. Wir schätzen vor allem die Tatsache, dass es dort im Sommer angenehm kühl ist, was man bei der spanischen Hitze sehr schätzen wird. Der schönste Blick auf die Umgebung ist übrigens vom oberen Teil des Gartens. Wer also Ruhe und Entspannung sucht,

Lovely spacious accommodation in great setting

The accommodation is spacious and has everything you need, the pool is lovely, nice to relax beside after a hot day, Helen and Alan were so friendly and helpful giving us all the local information we needed. Alora is a typical Spanish town , great to walk around and great Tapas bars! El Chorro climbing was very accessible and the scenery was stunning. Lovely place, would recommend it to anyone.

Complete relaxation

We stayed in the house for a week in April. Helen and Alan provided a friendly greeting and a welcome pack of provisions that allowed us to refresh and relax without having to rush out to the shops. The house is very well equipped and provided everything we could possibly need. It’s a perfect home from home. Alan and Helen were always willing to offer friendly advice and recommendations for eating out or places to visit. We enjoyed their laid back approach and the lovely relaxing environment they have created at Casa los Olivos.

A fantastic fortnight in the Guadalhorce Valley

A fabulous spot that has become a home from home over the last few years. Helen and Alan are wonderful hosts and the casa is just the most comfortable place to stay. The bedrooms are airy and cool and the living space is well laid out with room to cook in comfort and then relax with a book in front of the wood burner on cooler nights. Warmer days are equally welcome starting with a breakfast of deliciously ripe avocados and freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning sun with views of the Huma massif towering over El Chorro followed by long lazy evenings sharing a meal and a bottle of wine after cycling and walking in the surrounding hills. It just cannot be bettered.

wonderful place to be

The property is exactly as listed and Helen and Alan are wonderful hosts they are always their if you need them. My wife and I first stayed there for several weeks for the winter of 2013-2014 and again 2014-2015 we think that speaks for its self. the area has every thing scenery wonderful walks that is our favour it past time As well as a visit to the restaurant Los Caballos They make you very welcome. Twenty minutes drive north up the valley is El Chorro and the beautiful lakes, breathtaking views.We shall of course returning this winter. Vera & Bill Leigh age mid seventies

FANTASTIC

Stayed for our 2nd week of a two week holiday. unbelievably relaxing. Was worried kids might get bored but, they were far from it. Accommodation was terrific, clean and spacious. would defiantly return. Trusted and very helpful Many thanks.

Alan and I love this area. We have beautiful scenery and incredible national parks, gorges, crags, valleys, all accessible and enjoyable by people of all ages. Our Spanish friends and neighbours are wonderful and welcoming and we feel after 22 years that this is truly our home.

We couldn't resist this property, which has stunning views over the valley to El Torcal and la Huma mountain ranges. The old farmhouse has charm and warmth and we were fortunate to have permission to build a large property to the rear which is available for visitors. It is spacious traditional in style but has all the modern equipment. It is great for people of all ages.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Very easy access, no long winding tracks - we wanted to be within easy reach of shops, restaurants and other people. And we now have a pretty good bus service between Alora and El Chorro - brilliant!
