A wall of windows filled with an unobstructed water view welcome you after you step into Alder Street Retreat! This much-loved, sunny, light-filled, upgraded 5br/3ba home, is located in the desirable Cresthaven neighborhood just below Peninsula College.
This beautiful house offers bed space for 13

Enjoys views across to Victoria, BC, the Coast Guard station at Ediz Hook, with the ship and ferry traffic in the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Port Angeles Harbor. Alder Street Retreat is in a convenient location just 1 mile from the Olympic National Park Visitor's Center, 17 miles from Hurricane Ridge, and 1.5 miles from downtown Port Angeles. Just 1/2 a mile from Franklin Elementary School, 1/2 a block to Peninsula College campus, trails, and city bus stop, and 1 mile to Olympic Memorial Hospital. This 1/2 acre property is backed by the White Creek ravine affording country privacy...all within the Port Angeles city limits! With a chef's kitchen and easy indoor-outdoor flow, you will LOVE cooking and entertaining in this home!

We love animals but, for medical reasons this is a pet-free home. Alder Street Retreat is not available for guests with pets.

I'd give this stay 5 stars --the host very nice, responds to text right the way, very personable.Amenities-- well provided, everything !Beautiful scenes -- we're welcome by two lovely deer,a warmly lit Christmas tree, beautiful music in the living room, clean and tidy rooms.........

Wopnderfully appointed and supplied home was super comfortable and large enough for our group of 7 to spread out. The patio and hottub were a delight. So close to the Olympic NP visitor center with easy access to roads, restaurants, and grocery. We couldn't have enjoyed it more!

Our family of 9 had a fantastic stay at this beautiful rental, from the moment we walked in! The amazing ocean view from the great room and kitchen took our breath away. We had everything we needed to make yummy meals, play in the backyard, relax in the hot tub, and have comfortable nights sleeping. The location was perfect for exploring the wonders of the Olympic peninsula. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this beautiful property..

The house was really great with cozy furnishings and beds, all the amenities you could need including a fully-stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the guide books and a puzzle during our down time. The backyard was protected from the wind with a nice courtyard and hot tub, with access to a lush green space just beyond the gate. The sound system was easy to navigate and added significant fun to our friend vacation. Overall I would highly recommend this place and would go back if given the chance!

Great home, Excellent location

This is the best equipped home I have ever stayed in! Everything you need including comfortable beds & fluffy towels. Great location to the park, ferry to Victoria and downtown. Beautiful yard. Great view of the water and tons of windows. Lots of room. We were 4 adults, but this is a great home for a large family. All questions were answered promptly.

An Amazing View!!

This beautiful home has everything one can need. The view of the water withe the mountains in the back is amazing. We had breakfast to this in the morning and watched the sunset in the evening. Plenty big for our 6 adults and 2 children. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our dinners and the outside yard was a big hit with the kids. They even have a swing set!!! The home was very clean and quiet at night. The hot tub was great after a long days hiking. Can’t say enough about this home!! Would definitely stay again.

Such a fabulous home!

Wonderful trip celebrating Mom's 80th bday! Great location to explore Olympic NP. Plenty of room for everyone, indoors and out. Best stocked kitchen of any short-term rental we've EVER stayed at. We loved the views & house design. It truly felt like we were staying in someone's home. Highly recommend!

One of the best places we every stayed

We can't say enough great things about this property. 1) All the bedrooms were very comfortable, all the bathrooms well stocked. There are 4 bedrooms on the main floor and an almost an entire separate house downstairs, more than enough room for our group to spread out. 2) Without question the best-stocked kitchen in a rental. We cooked ourselves several excellent meals on the grill outside and the excellent stove. 3) The open-concept living room/dining room/kitchen organized around an electric fireplace is maximum cozy! Fantastic views of the water all the way to Canada. Deer walking up and down the street and in the backyard. A little slice of heaven. If you have a bigger group and want to stay in Port Angeles, this is the place for you!

Great location for PNW hiking…

Excellent house, well manicured lawn with amazing private outdoor seating. The home is super clean and very thoughtfully stocked with everything you could ever need. One kitchen drawer is even stocked with birthday cookie cutters and candles! (Which was awesome since we were celebrating a birthday). It had everything we needed to cook and could not think of one thing to ask. The master bedroom is huge and the beds are very comfortable with plenty of nice linen. We used this rental as a home base to accommodate several awesome PNW hikes. Definitely would stay in this home again! Great location and wonderful views! Very nicely done.

The BEST Vacation Home!

There aren't enough good things to say about staying at this beautiful property! When you arrive, you're greeted with a friendly, quiet neighborhood and stunning views. The house immediately smells incredible, and the living room/kitchen combo is to die for. All of the bedrooms are fully loaded with linens, and they provide a ton of extra linens and pillows if needed. It's conveniently located to Port Angels and Olympic National Park, and we couldn't have been happier that we chose to stay here. This property helped us create wonderful, life lasting memories with loved ones and we couldn't recommend it anymore!

Wonderful Port Angeles House!

The house was wonderful! The backyard space was a perfect place for our 4 young grandchildren to play when we were at the house! The kitchen was very well equipped and we used it every day of our stay to feed our family of 14. Plenty of space to eat outside on the beautiful patio or inside during bad weather. Centrally located, just a short drive to Olympic National Park or the quaint downtown area of Port Angeles. Loved our stay here, will book again if we vacation in this part of the country again!

Well stocked and comfortable.

There was plenty of space for our group of eight adults and 5 small children. The back yard was a great place to play and hang out with the hot tub there. The kitchen and pantry have everything you could possibly need except, oddly, spatulas. There was plenty of extra bedding and towels. The view out the front windows was amazing! It was a great place to stay.

Annual vacation with the kids and grandkids

This is our 3rd year in a row staying here. It’s a great house with a magnificent view. There are lots of things to do near by for the grandkids.

Delightful place

This property met out needs very nicely. The design and craftsmanship of the home was much appreciated by all. Trampoline and playlet in the yard were thoroughly enjoyed by the kids. Loved the luxury of heated bathroom floors. The kitchen was very well equipt and a pleasure to cook in. Great location and view.

Amelia grew up in Port Angeles and after meeting her husband in California they wanted to move back to this small town to raise their daughter and be close to grandparents. Our jobs have taken us back to California but, we hope to return to Port Angeles so are keeping Alder Street Retreat as a vacation rental and in the future as a retirement home for our family.

The waterview at Alder Street Retreat is impressive but, we really fell in love with the large, private backyard. We love to entertain and relax in our home and the flow from the kitchen to the backyard is so easy and convenient. Beyond the large backyard gate is the Sanctuary where you can pitch a tent or even bushwhack down into the ravine to explore. Behind the backyard fence is also a shortcut trail to Peninsula College, passed the blackberry bushes. Within a few minutes are trails behind Peninsula College into old growth forest and world-class birding. Walking to the Community Playhouse, the Fine Arts Center, our daughter's elementary school, and more, make this such a convenient location to get around without a car.

1) HOME COOK'S DREAM KITCHEN AND EASE OF ENTERTAINING: In addition to its great location, Alder Street Retreat is equipped with a home chef's dream kitchen. Upstairs seamlessly flows into the backyard with courtyard doors from the living room, hallway, and master bedroom. 2) WATERVIEW WITH PROTECTION FROM NORTH FACING WINDS: The backyard faces south bringing lots of sun into private backyard entertaining and relaxing, while also enjoying the water view through the windows facing north and also while protected from the north facing wind. This wind protection is a unique benefit of Alder Street Retreat because many north facing waterview homes in Port Angeles have their patios facing north, which means wind, shade, and cold. There is a huge temperature difference between the front of the house versus this home's backyard. As you're shopping for vacation rentals in Port Angeles, keep this in mind!! It is one of the many unique benefits of Alder Street Retreat, which will make your stay so much more enjoyable and comfortable! 3) DOWNSTAIRS PRIVACY: The downstairs is equipped with a family room (large flat screen TV), full bath, kids playroom, extra sleeping blankets, pillows etc, and entrance from the carport. Downstairs offers desired privacy for teenagers or when sharing with multiple families. 4) THE SANCTUARY: The private sanctuary, just behind the backyard, is a perfect spot for you to enjoy a picnic or bring a tent and enjoy your own private campsite!
