Enter the Bobcat Cabin to a welcoming living space with a comfortable, large sectional that our guests can relax on after an adventurous day in the hills. The fully equipped kitchen and breakfast bar gives our guests the ability to cook delicious, home-made meals throughout their stay.

The fully equipped kitchen and breakfast bar gives our guests the ability to cook delicious, home-made meals throughout their stay. Just located off the living room is a beautiful master suite with a luxurious master bath. The master bath has a large, romantic soaking tub great for couples. The second living room offers a great space to cozy up next to the electric fireplace with your loved ones while having a movie marathon. Use the back French door to walk onto the spacious deck. The deck spans the length of the cabin making it great for outdoor entertainment. Our guests can enjoy large family cookouts, relax in the hot tub and stargaze, or head towards the yard to the newly renovated outdoor firepit with wooden benches, Adirondack chairs, and a swing to share stories around the campfire. At the Bobcat Cabin, our guests have ample opportunity to explore, experience, and enjoy all of Southeast, OH.

This was a perfect Fam Fall Fun Fest for our family. We had plenty of room for our family inside with multiple open areas to gather. The firepit area was wonderful with lots of seating, though the swing was not there. The hot tub was nice and big. The jets didn't work well, but no one minded. The cabin was very well stocked. A wonderful family time. Thank you.

This was a super cute cabin which we rented to spend some last minute end of summer family time with my family of 9 adults (including myself) aged 18-78 years. The online photos don’t do this place justice. The young male cousins in our group shared one bedroom, which has 3 queen beds, yet the 3 young men never felt cramped in the room. The rest of us had our own rooms, each with a queen bed along with ample room to spare. You could easily sleep 16 people comfortably in this cabin, which I never would have believed before seeing it in person. We also had plenty of seating options in the main areas. We enjoyed being able to grill meals using the provided propane grill. The cabin is stocked with dishes and utensils as well as large pots that could be used for making pasta, etc. The one downfall was the nonstick pots and pans, which there were many, however, none were up to par for safe use due to the extensively scratched and peeling surfaces. We always bring a stainless steel pan with us when renting since most places supply nonstick pans, however, I can only presume that most renters don’t know how to properly use and care for nonstick thus end up damaging them. Due to this, I still feel 1st Choice Lodging deserves an overall 5 star review. Everything else was great and we’d definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the bobcat cabin. The cabin was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you'd need to cook. We especially enjoyed having a hot tub. I would recommend any family coming to Hawking Hills to stay here.

Bobcat cabin was lovely!

Everything was great! The property was beautiful and the cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, and the couch and recliners by the fire were cozy. The only downside was that the hot tub was murky, but they came and shocked it right away. There is also a drain over by the fire pit where the lid isn’t fastened. I told them about it when I was checking out, so I imagine they will take care of it. He thanked me for letting them know. We would definitely stay again!

We go down to the Hocking Hills area with another family every year, and this was one of the best locations we have ever stayed at. It's truly massive, and the pictures don't do it justice in this regard.

Family at the Bobcat

My adult children and grands were easily accommodated for sleeping and indoor play. The primary suite was a delightful luxury. The kitchen was well equipped and functional. The WiFi was effecient. The W/D were quiet and convenient. The back porch was perfect for on site picnicking and for the kids play. The cabin was clean. The hottub did not function. The location is nicely isolated, 10 minutes to the grocery, 25 minutes to Hocking Hills. Very little traffic on the road to the property. Plenty of parking. Check in and check out were simple.

Rainy getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the Bobcat cabin. It was so nice on the inside, beautifully remodeled. So much room for family to spread out to watch TV or play games after hiking. Very relaxing. We did have issues with rain as mentioned in a 2023 review. We put pans out to catch drips, but there was a couple spots on couch we couldn't use due to being wet. Hopefully they replace the roof spots soon so as to not add to the damage to ceiling. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

We had 3 families together in this rental. It would be more convenient to have more than one key or a coded lock for access. The kitchen was well stocked, could use a few more kitchen towels. The bathrooms were well stocked with towels.

Girls’ weekend

We had a great time in this cabin! The kitchen was well stocked ands we had plenty of comfortable beds and rooms for everyone. Only disappointment was the hot tub: I reached out when booking to make sure it was in working order as it was the one thing my sister wanted for this weekend celebrating her. I was assured it was. While the tub did heat up, the most of the jets weren’t working. We still had a great time & I would definitely stay there again, but the amenities should be updated so other guests can manage their expectations.

Bobcat House

The house was clean and worked well for us. I didn’t receive check in instructions like I was told. Check-in is at 4 PM. We got in because the local cable company was fixing the internet. 1st Choice called me at 7 PM to ask if I got in or needed help checking in. FYI - You must also return the keys to a different location.

Overall Lovely Stay

We had a lovely stay at the Bobcat cabin. Check in and check out was easy, management is very quick to respond to questions, and the cabin is even more spacious than it looks on the listing. We also really appreciated all of the preventative protections we saw in place for bed bugs. Anyone who travels knows what signs to look out for, so it was really reassuring to see there were measures in place to keep patrons safe. Overall I would recommend staying here, but there are some things that you should know before you book. Important note: the tread on the ramp leading up to the front door is completely worn out, leading to a pretty dangerous situation whenever the ramp is slick. I was being careful to only step on the tread and it tore leading me to slide and fall. I was mostly able to catch myself, but this could have really injured someone who is less able bodied. Hopefully the treads have been replaced by now after I mentioned this while checking out. This cabin also has some bad leaking at the front entryway with heavy water stains, you will need to place a bucket there if you are visiting while it is rainy. We did not reach out about this because it's such a prominent leak that it's most likely been happening for awhile and they are aware and will hopefully take care of it when they are able. Less serious note: it can get pretty chilly in some of the bedrooms and extra blankets are not provided. I would recommend bringing extra blankets for this reason.
