The villa was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for. The pool was amazing and a really good size. Everything was clean and tidy. We arrived late and we checked ourselves in, instructions from Carol were great and sent well in advance of our travel date. Carol was the perfect host and made sure we had everything we needed and replied quickly to any questions. We were glad we had a hire car as the supermarkets were a ten minute drive. The beach was a ten minute walk and lovely and quiet. Highly recommend the Wazza beach bar, amazing cocktails and good service.

Large villa, kitchen was well equipped with plates, utensils, glasses and cooking trays. Heating was adiquate and water pressure was good. We had an enjoyable stay even though the weather was a little hit and miss due to winter storms.
Table set up for Christmas dinner for friends and family.

Our stay was nothing short of magical. We spend 2 wonderful weeks there and every moment was a delight. Our highlight was the stunning outdoor space with the pool.The hosts were incredibly accommodating and provided us with local recommendations. Their thoughtfulness truly made a difference.Thanks again for having us, we will come back :)

A great holliday

We enjoyed a wonderfull stay at Mijas. Two weeks of great weather, a beautiful house and an area with lots to do and things to see. Our hosts (Ian and Carol) were very helpfull and gave plenty of tips for tings to do and places to eat. The sea is about 300m from the house and easy te reach. We would highly recomend this house and hope to return in the future.

Beautiful villa

We spent a week in this beautiful villa. It was better than expected, beautifully clean and well equipped with excellent air conditioning in every room. The check in process was seamless with great communication from the hosts. Will definitely return.

Perfect villa for a family of 5. Pool and socialising / out door eating area are all on the same level making it very convenient and easy. The villa is on a big plot so although there are villas close by you do not feel crowded. There is a new villa being built opposite which is not ideal for views but no issue as don't miss what you never saw. The property is very well maintained, great AC and the interior is spacious with a big inside dinning table and a separate seating area 2x big sofas. Kitchen is well equipped with Airfryer / oven, big fridge freezer, washing machine and a water filter tap (bonus as you don't need to buy loads of water) plus more. Carol was our contact and very helpful with places to go and tips. We didn't go too far (lazy holiday) but the restaurants and bars 10 min walk away were great (Indian / Nordic / Mediterranean / Chinese / and Small shop for essentials. MacDonalds nearby too.The beach is 5 mins down the road but the Wazza Beach Bar is 10 mins walk and would recommend going there as good for a day at the beach. 25 mins by taxi to the airport Euro 70 one way if not renting a car. All in all - it is a great base to explore from or a lovely place to relax.

Family holiday / quiet villa close to La Cala

Lovely quiet villa. Older residence so nice and cool; and with brilliant air con. Hire car would probably be essential, we used it a lot but taxis into La Cala and Fuengirola for dinner are straightforward too.

Great week!

Nice house with everything you need for a week stay. Car is recommended for shopping and restaurant visits. Very good, attentive service and support from “property manager”!

Wonderful week

Pin location was sent once we arrived in Spain check in was easy. Villa is beautiful pool is so big kids loved it we visited La cala which is 7 euros in a taxi and Wazzus beach bar which is a 20 min walk down by the sea .

La Cala Stay in June 2024

An excellent trip Carol our host was welcoming and very trusting. Villa was as it says on the tin. Spent quite some time on the local beach where we where able to eat and have a few bears then walk back the villa. We had 10 great days at the villa Many Thanks again Carol.

Beautiful villa!

My family and I had a wonderful holiday staying at this beautiful villa. It had everything we needed and so tastefully decorated throughout. The pool was brilliant and such a great size. We were very impressed with the area, lovely local pub called the Frog & co definitely worth a visit! And local restaurants very accessible in La Cala town. Thankyou Carol for all your help 😊

Lovely clean villa in great location

The villa was exactly as we expected from the photo's, lovely and clean with a fab pool. We came with two young children and the smart tv was great when the sun was too hot, fireman Sam on tap! We love Cala de Mijas and will certainly return again. Carol was great and very informative, overall a great week in the sun😎

Great villa

The owner was helpful and friendly. The place is peaceful. The house was clean and well equipped. Everything we needed is there. There is a small shop and restaurants within walking distance. A taxi could always be quickly ordered and we went to the city with it.

Very nice place

All as advertised, and extra points for management, very friendly, very helpful and very quick to answer. This is actually one of the best places we ever rented in Spain, layout of the house is perfect, outside very nice. Some mentioned earlier that there is a building site next to the house. There is, but hardly any noise so no disturbance at all.

Lovely villa with great outdoor space

We stayed at this lovely villa with great outdoor space. Location wise the villa was fantastic. A 5min bus ride or 20min walk into to La Cala which is a gorgeous little place. A 10min bus ride to Fuengerola which has some fantastic places to eat. The villa was well equipped with everything you need. The pool is bigger than most villas we have stayed in. I would recommend this villa for anyone looking to stay in this area and would definitely stay here again. Thanks Carol for being a great host.

Lovely apartment & enjoyable stay

We enjoyed our time in the villa, it met all our wishes. The villa was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with a great outdoor space and a private pool that was large enough for six persons to swim and play in. We greatly appreciated the well-functioning air conditioning in the living room and all bedrooms. Communication with the landlord was smooth and easy. The villa was perfectly placed for exploring this beautiful area of Spain. It was easy to get both east and west and easy to always find parking outside the villa.

The villa was ok but not suitable for young ones. The floors are far too slippy. Location not good

No problems with renting. Too far out of the centre of La Cala and dangerous walking along the side of the Carraterra! It should be made clear it is a residential area and so we would not stay there again.

Excellent villa in a great location

The Villa was very spacious and clean. Everything you needed was at hand. The pool is very big and gets the sun all day so heats up quickly. Outside space and various seating options meant you could opt to relax in the sun, or chill in the shade. The location is brilliant, we walked, used buses and when required used taxis. Our stay was enhanced by Carol the property manager. She gave us early entry which enabled us to relax on arrival. She was extremely good at suggesting places to eat and her communication in general was brilliant. All of the above gave us a holiday to remember.

Fantastic Villa - Brilliant Holiday!

I'm writing this review having just arrived back to the UK after a fantastic week in this villa - I'm already checking when we can go back! This was a family holiday for us - myself, husband and 2 children (ages 10 & 5) and I can honestly say it's one of the best we've ever had. The villa was amazing, beautifully maintained, lots of space, super fast broadband (children were very happy!) and a short walk from the beach. You can walk along the beach to the shops and restaurants (about 40 mins walk with children) or easily drive to shops etc. The water park is a 10 mins drive and was a great day out. Carol was lovely and gave us great tips and local information. Thank you for our wonderful week of happy family memories - see you again soon I hope!

Las Faolas Centrale Avenida

This was a beautiful Villa with everything you needed. A car would probably have been helpful as the nearest shop was a good 15/20 minute walk uphill on the way back which would be difficult for elderly people - the location is good but further from La Cala than we expected and we felt too far to walk do a taxi was needed every day. There was 6 of us and it wasn’t always easy to get a 6 seater so we often had to order 2 taxis at around 9 euros each journey each taxi. Other than that we loved the pool and were overall very happy with our stay.

Hi I am Glad you enjoyed the villa for the shops, there is the local bus with the bus stop only 200 metres walk from the villa and costs only 1 euro. The beach is also 200 metres walk. The taxi company has 6 seaters but better to book them in advance Thank you for taking care of the villa

Nice villa in good location but……..

The villa was as per the VRBO explanation accept for one thing. The sea view is now limited due to a new villa being built in direct line of sight from the swimming pool. The building work was daily from 8am to 4pm which meant noise throughout while we were trying to relax around the pool and outside seating areas. Had I known this and despite the villa being great I would not have chosen to book. I would like to finish on a positive note which was the contact with Carol prior to and throughout our stay. She was helpful, prompt in responding and informative of the area.

Hello Karen Thank you for your input. I am sorry if you found any noise intrusive, but no one else has seemed upset by this. I have to say that the new villa in question, now constructed , is situated well below and to the east of Las Palomas and the view of the sea from the Las Palomas pool has remained unchanged as the sea is to the south.

Great villa with big pool

We had a lovely vacation in this house, which is Well kept and equipt and clean. Lots of kitchenware. In the kitchen is also filtered water, which is really nice. Lots of space in the closets. It is really Nice with lounge furniture outside and dinning table. Outdoor area is nice and clean too. the pool is big and clean and has a deep end. The neighbor is a permanent resident, and doesn’t like to much noice at the poolarea. Really nice small beach close by. Only 5 min walk. Nice restaurant 2 min away. There was noice from the nearby buildings in the weekdays, because they are building new houses close to this villa. Hope they are done with them next year because then we will be back.

We had a fantastic stay at the Villa. Very spacious, well equipped and beautiful. Carol, the property manager contacted us in advance and arranged to meet us on arrival to collect the security deposit, show us around and answer any questions we had. She was always available for any questions or recommendations we needed the entire stay.There is a flight of stairs from the outside entrance up to the entrance of the villa which was not a problem for us and our luggage but I could see potentially being a struggle for some especially wirh mobilty issues.The area feels very nice and safe. The beach can be accessed on a short walk and by taking an under or overpass. Another highlight for our 12 year old son was the McDonalds within walking distance!Inside the villa is well furnished and well equipped with plenty of heating or air conditioning as needed. The hot water for bathing or showering is about enough for one person at a time or probably more with short showers.The outside area is another huge perk with plenty of seating and sun loungers. The pool was too cold to use with the weather we had in March but I imagine it would be amazingly refreshing in the warmer months.As some other reviews have mentioned, there was a crane at the property across the street and construction happening on weekdays.Overall this property was a gem and so comfortable we barely wanted to leave to go sightseeing. We would love to stay again if we are ever back in the area. Highly recommend!
