Apartment centrally located with a great view

We couldn’t be happier with this apartment. It was across the Arno with a great view of the city. The host was so responsive with all of our needs. The apartment was cozy and we felt at home with our 6 day stay.

Beware of lack of hot water!

We loved the building and proximity to sites and dining. The VRBO was beautiful and spacious. However, hot water is not guaranteed in any of the VRBOs we stayed at in Italy. Get used to cold showers! I would definitely stay here again!

It’s impossible!!! There is hot water and there is also an autonomous boiler to heat the water. No one has ever complained! Maybe you just turned on the cold water tap.

Excellent choice!

Our stay could not have been nicer and in an excellent location right on the Arno. We were just a few minutes walk to the Uffizi Gallery and the Piazza della Signoria. My friend and I always felt safe, even walking at midnight. Giusi's apartment was clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for the two of us. I would love to stay here again!

This apartment was huge! We were so surprised when we walked in. Great communication and even a check in as I had messaged saying we were on the way and then got distracted by the pretty sights and didn't show up as quickly as expected lol. Very quick responses with any questions we had. And it was lovely to have two separate bathrooms with showers.

Wouldn’t book again

The location was great but the actual apartment, not so great. Bathrooms were super small. Especially the main floor bathroom and it had a leak from the shower onto the bathroom floor, the shower itself was rusty. The main floor bedroom had a musty smell. It wasn’t somewhere I would stay again.

The apartment is on the second floor and has never been damp. I don't know what they might have smelled. It was also whitewashed earlier in the year. the bathrooms are not large but there are 2, in some apartments there is only one small.

Great Location

We loved the location and the history of this property. However, the check-in was really screwed up (we ended up with a very last minute person who got the time wrong and who didn't know much). It would have been nice to have been left some coffee! There was no sheet of basic information like where there might be a grocery store, good restaurants, transportation options, how to use some of the appliances, etc. We did enjoy being on the Arno River and you could easily walk to the center of Florence.

YOU HAVE CREATED THE CONFUSION WITH THE CHECK IN, YOU HAVE SAID TO ARRIVE FIRST AT ONE TIME THEN AT ANOTHER AND THEN YOU HAVE ARRIVED AT A THIRD. ON SUNDAY IT'S DIFFICULT TO BE ABLE TO WAIT 5 HOURS, I DON'T LIVE IN THE APARTMENT AND WAITING FOR IT IS NOT NICE. Lovely stay in Santa Croce

Overall this was a good place to stay in Santa Croce. The bedroom is the highlight of the apartment with a lovely view and the sounds of the Arno. You have to go up a narrow staircase to get to the bedroom. The kitchen, dining room, and living room are smaller than they appear in the photos with low ceilings and not a lot of natural light so I spent all my time in the bedroom. It's an easy walk to the other areas and this is quieter than other areas which I appreciated. Things like towels to dry dishes were missing and there was a supermarket close by but those small things would have been nice to have. The hosts were helpful in booking me a taxi to the airport. I would stay here again.

Bathroom was horrible

Stairs to elevator with luggage an issue. Stirs to bedroom steep and dangerous. Layout odd. Bath up way small, shower horrible, no place to put toiletries, all around just bad. Ac didn’t work very well and it was hot. In general, Needs updating. Excellent location though.

There are a few steps to get to the lift which can also be seen in the photos with the red and white carpet, but you can avoid taking the stairs by going through the entrance behind, where there is a lift at the ground floor without taking steps. The bathroom is small but there is also a cabinet where you can put all your toiletries. The air conditioning cold the whole house at 16 degrees, the problem is that when you are elderly you should go to a hotel, where they can find assistance for everything

You have 2 phone numbers,correct, we answer anytime h 24/24. Soap is usually available may was stolen by the guest before you, anyway is not our duty provide it... The only comment of your staying in my house is about a missing soap? I suppose All the Rest was ok...location, view, palace..

The master bedroom was lovely best room in the apt. main floor very low ceilings and dark. A few small windows that overlooked a drab courtyard, beds on that floor very uncomfortable, need new mattresses. There are no screens on the windows, I could understand because the age of the bldg., left the window open at night to get air and got lots of mosquito bites. Need to make people aware. Kitchen needs more utensils, I like VRBO because I like having coffee and breakfast and a few other meals at the apt. It's not a convenient location but I knew that.

Amazing, beautiful and perfect

We came to Florence for our daughter’s wedding (our first time in Italy). We had quite an exhausting day of travel, delays, broken luggage, and more. From the start communication with Giusi was excellent. She was so kind to let us check in a little early (we were so appreciative). Valentina waited for us at the apartment and was so patient as we got lost trying to find it (our fault for being so unfamiliar and intimidated by the driving). The apartment is in a beautiful building, it’s got all the amenities you could need. It is so close to everything. The upstairs bedroom and its view from the window is breathtaking. Both Valentina and Giusi continued to be available when we had any questions. When another family member lost her accommodations after her plane was delayed, Giusi was kind enough to understand our need to let the family member stay with us. Having such a great place to stay, so close to everything made our time in Florence so wonderful. We would absolutely come back. Grazie Giusi!!

Fabulous Stay on the Arno!

My mother and I have just returned from our annual vacation in Florence and a fantastic two-week stay at this beautiful apartment. We've stayed at many wonderful places over the years and we both agree that this is the best. The location is perfect and the major attractions are within walking distance. We appreciated the historic atmosphere of the apartment, part of a famous palazzo with a magnificent view on the Arno, beautiful terracotta flooring and beamed ceilings, furnished with tasteful antiques, and featuring a stunning frescoed ceiling in the master bedroom. Perfect for lovers of Tuscan art and architecture! The apartment is extremely clean and well-maintained. Giusi, the owner, was always available by email and phone, and is wonderfully friendly, helpful, and professional. My mother and I enjoyed dining in the many fine restaurants in the Santa Croce district: Del Fagioli, Maremma, and Torcicoda, just to name a few. The kitchen in the apartment is extremely well-equipped and we had many delicious meals at home as well. We delighted in our visits to the Uffizi, the Accademia, Fiesole, churches, the markets, Hop On Hop Off city bus tours, and generally strolling about. We would certainly recommend this apartment to friends and relatives; in fact, we already have! We plan to return here every Summer for our Firenze vacation and I've already made a booking for a week's stay in October. Thank you, Giusi, for your excellent customer service and for providing such a wonderful rental opportunity for visitors to Florence.

Property is not well maintained or supplied.

We did not have the best interaction with the owner, the person who met us at the flat was very nice. Other reviews said she was great, maybe she was just having a bad day, we all do. But it is really the flat that we were most disappointed in. Just a few things that would have had to be better for a 5 star. There were only 2 FLAT pillows in the main bedroom. Searching, we did find 2 other odd sized pillows but without pillowcases so we didn't want to use them. The second bedroom didn't even have pillows for the 2 twin beds. (They weren't even going to show us the 2nd bedroom because there was only the 2 of us.) Just for clarification also, the stairs go up to the main bedroom and bath but they are very steep and narrow. It's an old building so maybe it is expected to have peeling plaster on the walls. The faucets in the upstairs bathroom are not working right. The shower faucet, I could never get to go to the hot water --maybe it was because the other shower was being used. The light fixture over the sink is falling off. I don't believe it is expected but most every other place I have stayed in has provided little bottles of shampoo, etc in case you forgot yours. There is not enough lighting especially in the living area. It was well stocked in the kitchen if you needed 45 full size plates and only 6 glasses!! It certainly doesn't matter but I am used to VRBOs having sets of dishes, not hodge podge. The utensils had plastic handles and a variety of them, but they didn't feel clean. The location was really pretty good but parking was public parking only and it was not easy to find. Although there is an elevator, there still are 14-16 steps before the level of the elevator so this is not handicap accessible if you are looking for that. I have stayed in a number of vacation rental homes, accessing this one compared to others, It's definitely not on my priority list.

It’s really hard and sad to deal with certain people. These gentlemen wanted to come the night before without even specifying at what time...So they said negative and fake things. They said “palace is old!”. No sirs, the palace is ancient, it’s a florentine rinascimental palace under the protection of Belle Arti... May be they prefer american skyscrapers. They said there are no cushions, no pillowcases, no glasses!! Everything is in the closet, as always...glasses (18) are in the furniture of the kitchen, if they opened it they could find them. There are 6 pillows. Considering they kept the heat as in a SPA CENTER, paying the fare of low season, I certainly spent more than them. I don’t add anything else because I am kind...

"Muito bem localizado em ...

"Muito bem localizado em frente ao rio Arno (lungarno) e junto da igreja da Santa Cruz, 5-10 minutos/600m a pé da ponte Vecchia/Uffizi. Trata-se de um apartamento no 2ºandar (pé direito alto) num prédio antigo (Sec. XVIII ou XIX) remodelado com elevador. Quarto com vista para o rio, outras divisões para pátio interior. As divisões são menores do que parecem nas fotos, mas serviu muito bem para nós - casal com 3 miúdos. Decoração com muito bom gosto (tem uma masseira igual às nossas!), WiFi funciona perfeitamente. Tem estacionamento de curto prazo (parquímetros) na rua em frente (1,5 euros/hora) grátis a partir da 20:00h, mas começa a ficar cheio cerca das 19:00h. A pagar a partir das 08:00h: convém deixar 1-2h pagas para o dia seguinte. Parque grátis na praça de Michelangelo, do outro lado do rio, com vista fantástica sobre a cidade e descida a pé de 15 min.(escadas) interessante, pelo menos a primeira vez, subida de preferência de autocarro (33? paragem em frente da casa, senhas compradas na tabacaria rua Tintori). Cozinha bem equipada, sala de jantar fantástica. Compras no hiper/Supermercado "COOP" (na parte nova da cidade ou em qualquer localidade fora de Florença) com óptimos preços e variedade. Boas férias! The apartment os very well located, front to Arno river (lungarno) na near Santa Cross catedral, 5-10min walk (600m) to Ponte Vecchia/Uffizi museum. Its an apartmente in a renovated palace from 18-19 century - 2nd floor with elevator. The main room with a view to the river, the other divisions directly to a patio. Ok for a family with 3 kids. The house is very well decorated wit a fine classic taste. Wifi works OK. Short time parking in front: 1,5 eur/hour, free after 20:00h. gets full after 19:00h. Payable after 08:00h, can pay in advance the day before. Free park in piazza Michelangelo the other side of the river, fine view ot Firenze, 15 min. interesting walk down, by stairs. Climb preferably by bus (33?, buy tickets in adance – bookshop in Tintori street). To buy food, used “COOP” with good price and fantastic variety: upper town or any location outside Firenze."

Schöne Wohnung mit genügend Platz

Verlängertes Wochenende zum 38. Firenze Marathon

Zum 38. Florenz Marathon haben wir ein sauberes Objekt in alten Mauern, unweit des Piazza della Signoria, gesucht und hier gefunden. Die Lage mit Blick auf den Arno und eben die Nähe zur Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria (Start des Marathons), zur Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, zum Palazzo Pitti, zum Palazzo Medici Riccardi usw. ist optimal. Check-in-Vorgang war sehr gut organisiert. Vom Airport aus bestand bereit Kontakt zum betreuenden Personal. Der Check-out-Vorgang ging ebenso sehr unkompliziert.
