Private - Direct Oceanfront - Beach House

Direct Ocean front private home in a setting to relax and enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean from most all rooms. Recently re-decorated. Make wonderful new memories at the beach. Walk for miles on white sandy beaches. Watch the shuttle launches live or spectacular July 4th fireworks on the beach.

Enjoy incredible sun and moon rises over the ocean from our spacious two story duplex property. We rent out the entire 2nd floor, which is a complete 2 bedroom and 2 bath apartment outfitted with everything you need but your tooth brush, sunscreen and your beach clothing! Completely renovated a few years ago, you can experience thick fluffy towels and fine 100% cotton sheets. We provide beach chairs, umbrella and there is a wonderful covered deck in the back to lounge or have a lovely alfresco dinner.

The bedrooms are very spacious with the first having a King size bed, the second bedroom has 2 twins, plus there is a pull out sofa bed in the living room.

The screened patio in the back also overlooks the ocean and is perfect for outside dining or relaxing to read a good book on lounge chairs. Lots of books to enjoy (just leave one if you take one). Some DVD’s and CD’s for your enjoyment.

Beach lounges, beach towels and umbrella for sun lovers. Outside shower to wash off the sand (please)!

Restaurant and Local activities guide book in the kitchen is great for other fun and evenings out on the town. New Smyrna is a wonderful small town that is filled with unique restaurants, bars, shops and activities.

The downtown has many local activities, like antique car shows, holiday parades, farmers market and historic museums and sites. There are two very nice public golf courses within four to five miles.

Year round availability. Flexible check in & out with Sunday to Sunday preferred. We don't rent for less than two weeks but offer discounts on monthly rates. Special rates may be available for last minute bookings. Higher rates for holiday times. You can always call us direct for quotes.
Parking for two to three vehicles. No Smoking, Please! And, we are NOT baby or child proofed! Adults only.

Break from Maine in March

Our stay was perfect. Restaurants and shops were a nice walk to get to either a walk a long the beach or along the sidewalks. The walk to the beach was down a few stairs from the house and you were there. There were also many golf courses with in 20 mins.The house was perfect it felt like home as soon as we opened the door.

Perfection

A 10 star property!!!We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect. The apartment is very comfortable, super clean and very well stocked. The property is absolutely beautiful with spectacular views of the ocean. The many outdoor areas with comfortable outdoor furniture all add to the specialness of this place. We loved the screened in porch and the chairs down by the beach. We were able to be there for 30 days and enjoyed every minute. We can’t wait until we come back!

Great property!

Besides the very pretty and comfortable interior, this second-story flat has the most inviting and beautiful grounds of any rental I’ve ever used. The variety of outdoor spaces is unmatched. The first level is usually vacant and only used by owner. Photos don’t do it justice as the owner just enhanced it. Would rent again in a heartbeat.

Lovely

We enjoyed the tremendous views from the living room, screened porch and master bedroom. We found the apartment very comfortable to spend a whole month. Excellent location on a quiet street and close to everything we like. It is one of the nicest places we stayed at in New Smyrna Beach. The reason for only 4 stars for accuracy of on line listing is that due to NSB storms there is no direct access from the house to the beach. The public entrance is two doors down, but the public ramp is also damaged and has been closed so the only way to get to the beach is by the stairs from the public deck, making it difficult to take bikes and a cart with chairs and umbrellas to the beach unless you are strong enough. We solved the situation by buying a beach pass and driving to 27th street and parking on the beach at low tide. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

A wonderful slice of paradise

Clean, comfortable, well maintained, and very near NSB downtown. Well stocked with simple necessities and extras that other hosts do not at times provide. If you seek a great place to commune with a beautiful quiet stretch of beach, look no further, you have found it. The spacious, covered, screened back porch with its panoramic view is perfect for enjoying the ocean without getting wet. Just a few steps down the private path will take you right to the ultra clean, wide, white sand beach. Our unanimous new favorite vacation hideaway. Jan even worked with us graciously when we encountered unexpected difficulties unrelated to her property. What a great host. Thanks again Jan.

Second time is still a charm

This is the second time we have stayed at Jan’s beach house and this stay was just as nice as our first. The place is super clean and the kitchen is as complete as most home kitchens. The views of the ocean from the screen porch and living room hadn’t changed…..still amazing. We hated to leave and hope to go back soon.

A Beautiful Experience Inside and Out

We could not have asked for a better experience. The property is beautiful with many outdoor surprises like the fire pit nestled in the shaded dunes, the lovely pavilion with teakwood table plus the huge screened in porch. The owner was a joy to work with and the inside was just as beautiful as the outside views and venues. The only slight negative was being located on the driving part of the beach. However, that was quickly forgotten as the property itself is so nice! We definitely would like to come back and visit again in the future.

Relaxing and Peaceful

Great views - right on the beach, clean, comfortable beds - in fact we slept extremely well there. New Smyrna is a lovely town with lots to do and see. Beach was white sand and the ocean was clear and blue. Took long walks, ate way too much and enjoyed some great wines. Terrific get-a-way. Can't wait to go back.

Hi future guests! We are Jan Walker and Larry Ratchford. Larry has been a commercial lender for many years and Jan is both an “Angel” investor and a long-time Real Estate Broker with Premier Sotheby's International Realty in Winter Park. 407.718.9644 Larry and Jan are newlyweds! Having both lost their spouses to long-term illness, they found each other, fell in love, married and have been having the time of their lives ever since.
Jan has always loved New Smyrna Beach for its small-town feel, its quaintness and friendliness and Larry now loves it too. When Jan bought the “duplex style” Beach House in 1997, it was a longtime dream come true. Since then it has been remodeled several times. The beach here seems to just draw you to it. The colors and sounds of the sand and ocean are both impressive and calming. We keep the downstairs apartment for ourselves and our family, but we are rarely there when we have guests upstairs... We rent out the upper full level as it has the most wonderful views. It is not a glamorous or overly fancy house, but nicely decorated and (we think) quite special. We hope you will treasure it, relax and enjoy yourselves while making great new memories at this wonderful beach.

When Jan was a teenager she used to come over to New Smyrna Beach with her family and friends for a day or afternoon of sun and playing in the waves. She fell in love with the beach. That love soon turned into a dream, a dream of owning a small bungalow on the beach. Many years later while walking on the beach with a friend (who knew of her dream), she said "Jan, I think I have found your beach house". She was right... and we were lucky enough to have purchased it in a down market. It was literally a mess inside but structurally sound. We worked hard to remodel it right off, as much as our pockets permitted, but through the last few years continued to do upgrades to the house and the decor.

Simply said... Both Jan and Larry love being there! We hope you will too.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Just the view from the kitchen and the great room, of the sand and the ocean with the rolling waves will bring down anyone's blood pressure. Relax with quiet and privacy. It is wonderful to walk and/or bike on the beautiful beach as well as fishing! Darn good and varied restaurants in town, just blocks away or cook and stay in. Sometimes we take a few comfortable beach chairs down to the sand with veggies, crackers, cheese and a good bottle of Merlot (don't tell the beach patrol) - it makes a wonderful dinner....! New Smyrna is a cozy coastal town that has great restaurants and friendly folks. There is lots to do - when you want, but nothing to do when you don't!
Our 2 bedroom / 2 bath is fully stocked with everything (except fresh food) for your use including the kitchen, baths and laundry room. While we are rarely there in our downstairs apartment when we have guests, if you have a challenge with anything at our home, we are only a phone call away to have a repairman come and correct it.
