If you enjoy your privacy during vacation, we have a comfy, cozy cabin in a tropical paradise, in our backyard! Guests have all the privacy they need in their own cottage; they come and go as they please, always having the option of relaxing by the pool on the lounge chairs, or in the Zen-like pergula area. Our yard is a half acre so there's plenty of room. The pool in between our house and the cabin. We recently switched to a salt-system instead of chlorine in our pool, it's better for your skin, hair & eyes. The cabin has a comfortable, king-sized, Tuft & Needle mattress, a 32 inch flat screen tv, wi-fi, a Mr. Cool mini-split AC, (we installed a new "Mr. Cool" mini-split AC in the front room, which efficiently and silently cools down the entire cabin) a microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, shower, (no bath tub). There is a free outdoor washer/dryer on the back porch for guests to use. We recently had a beautiful new awning installed over the laundry area.

Great for American Flyers students and for relaxing.

I stayed here for a month while attending the CFI Academy at American Flyers at Pompano Beach Airpark, and it was perfect. This is a quiet place to study in a lush, tropical setting, and it is only a few blocks away from the flight school. Lou and Joanne were perfect hosts. They have a beautiful property with palm, mango, and eucalyptus trees, many flowering plants, and a salt water pool. My wife came out at the end of the class, and we spent a few extra days enjoying the nearby beach, shopping, Everglades and walking around Pompano Beach. This is a quiet location, but it is conveniently located close to a variety of activities. I look forward to returning.

Great Relaxing Stay, Awesome Outdoor Living Space

My wife and I recently stayed here for 5 days and had an awesome time. Their place is so relaxing and peaceful with a great outdoor living space and access to basically your own private pool which is not an easy find. The owners - Joanne and Lou, are amazing people! They were very flexible, accommodating, and helpful throughout the entire process. The beach is only 2 miles away and it was very easy to snag an Uber to head out to the beach if you don’t have a car. There is a 5-mile walking trail that circles around the airpark, and you can get to it by walking just 4 blocks north from the house – so that was really nice to have easy access to that. The “cabin” has everything you need including a comfortable king bed, ceiling fans, a kitchen with all the cooking items you need (pots/pans/dishes, silverware, etc.), and 2 comfy lounge chairs in the living room area. If you’re looking for a quiet, clean, relaxing place with great outdoor space and nice owners, you can’t go wrong with this place!

Karen and Brad are fantastic people! We love to see our guests relaxing by the pool and making themselves at home and they did just that. We enjoyed listening to all the places they explored down the beach and in our neighborhood. You couldn't ask for a better couple, they left our cabin in immaculate condition. We miss them and they are welcome back any time!

Wonderful experience!

This was our first VRBO rental and we couldn't have had better hosts. Joanne & Lou went above and beyond to make sure we had a great visit. The property is even nicer in person than in the photos, they work hard to maintain it. I would definitely recommend and if I ever find myself in that part of the world again, I know where I'll be staying!

Beautiful Property

Joanne and Lou were so kind and gave us great ideas of places to visit in the area and to eat. Their place is beautiful and I can't say enough about how clean the cabin is!!! The king bed is very comfy, cabin is stocked well with anything you need to cook. I enjoyed the Brita water filter 😀 and the coffees and teas they had for us. It's close to the beach just a short drive. We will most definently stay again if in the area!

Home away from home!

I so loved my one month stay in this lovely cottage and pool right outside my door. The grounds were peaceful and filled with many palms, exotic plants and a variety of statues and light posts for evening light. The night breezes and Hammi their dog were a pleasant addition. Finally, they do have a very comfortable bed for big sleep. Joanne and Lou went above and beyond to accommodate me , but I had everything I needed. Joanne and Lou were so kind and upbeat! I would return for sure if given the chance. Kathleen

It was just right

Got stuck between houses, and needed a place to stay for a little over three weeks. Got lucky with this place, it was just about perfect in every way. Quiet, peaceful, convenient to lots of things, and of course Joanne and Louis were excellent hosts. Even the dog was a delight, and we’re not dog people. If we ever make our way back to south Florida I would definitely stay here again.

It was private and clean.

We were close to the beach and a great recreation area in Pompano beach that included a golf course, bike/walking trail, Publix Market, and numerous restaurants within close walking/driving distance. Lou and Joanne were very friendly and accommodating. It was very comfortable and met all our needs. In the 2 weeks we spent there, it definitely was our home!

A wonderful cozy cottage. Beautiful landscaping and a cute pool.

Had a very relaxing time. The cottage is quite cozy surrounded by palm trees and other beautiful trees. Nice little pool. The landscaping along with the fun decorations are interesting and lends to a pleasing experience. The color scheme is so Florida! Joanne and Louis are wonderful. Very friendly, accommodating and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.!

I am happy to write a review of Joanne's and Lou's cabin and property. As I told Joanne and Lou after we (my wife and I) first saw the cabin and property, they are lovelier than in the photos. We immediately felt at home upon meeting Joanne and Lou and being introduced to our home which we had booked for two weeks. That feeling never left us. Joanne and Lou are perfects hosts--they are always available for any question or issue and give you all the privacy you might want. More on this below. The property is located in a quiet neighbourhood. If you love walking there are two parks nearby. The one we went to was a two minute drive in the neighbourhood. It has several baseball fields around which is a track for walking. It also has an aquatic facility, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts and pickle ball courts. The walk also takes you thru these facilities if you so wish. It was great. Groceries and restaurants were also very handy. We were happy we read Joanne's and Lou's recommendations on restaurants. We especially liked the Sicilian Oven and some of the best pizzas we've ever had. But Lou gave the Sicilian Oven a run for its money because he is a master pizza chef himself. Lou makes his own dough and cooks his favourites in his own wood-fired brick oven on the property. We were lucky enough to be invited to partake in his culinary creations. They were yummy. Thanks again Lou and Joanne for that memorable evening. The beach is only a five minute drive away. We have a tip for you if you like a less crowded part of the beach. Head east down Atlantic. Turn right on the A1A. Take the first left. We had no problems finding parking. Good luck. I can't conclude with commenting on the beauty of the property. Both Joanne and Lou have done and are doing a marvellous job of making the property esthetically and serenely pleasing. The landscaping is phenomenal and don't be surprised to see Lou being the landscaper extraordinaire. Joanne has "decorated" the property with a Far East motifs pleasing to the eye and calming to the spirit. So as you can imagine, we have no reservations in highly recommending this cabin and property. You will not be disappointed. One final note. Hammie, the canine family resident, is a real doll. Robert and Susan are wonderful people and lovely guests! Their needs are few. It was obvious they were enjoying each day because every time we saw them in passing, they were on the go. They really enjoyed going to the beach, shopping & dining in town, and relaxing at night. Susan and Robert took care of our cabin as if it was their own home. We highly recommend them as excellent guests and feel that we were lucky to meet them. They are welcome back any time!

Perfect Cozy VRBO

This was our first VRBO and we were sold not only on the charming accommodation, but the graciousness of the owners. The cabin was clean and well-stocked with basic needs thoughtfully addressed. The grounds are well maintained and interesting with gargoyles Buddha's, and other assortments of statues to ward off evil and elicit peach and stability. And, we had our own little VRBO watchdog, Hammie, who kept an eye on us. Such a sweet doggie. We highly recommend the "Cozy Cabin"

Joanne & Louis live in the dome home near the entrance of the property. We are busy people who enjoy our beautiful yard and keep it looking very nice. Louis worked at the Hillsborough Club, a prestigious Country Club locate on the Hillsborough Inlet, as a purchaser. Joanne is a retired Elementary school teacher who enjoys working out at LA Fitness, bike riding and being outdoors. Together, we take care of our home, the cabin, and our many trees and plants. We love riding our bikes to the beach!

In compliance with local protocol, we are advocates of 6-foot social distancing and facial mask wearing. Upon arrival, we will greet at a safe distance and anything you need to know about the cabin will be written down for you to read. All high-touch surfaces in the cabin have been cleaned and sanitized with disinfectants. This also applies to the patio furniture in the pool area and the pergula. Our property is rather unique. The yard is park-like, with tropical trees and gardens. Our home is dome-shaped, a photo-op for many guests. It is so unusual that most guests comment on how much they love it! We enjoy upgrading and making improvements to both the cabin and the yard. We built a yellow-bricked piatsa and a wooden pergula outside the cabin. Our yard is adorned with buddahs and gargoyles. The pool is clean, but not heated. This doesn't stop many Northern guests from taking a dip every day! Guests have a private parking slab, and a private back-door entrance. We have had guests with trailors, and motorcycles who have enjoyed the privacy of our gated yard. We have also had guests who were divers, and were able to hang their scuba gear in our pergula area to dry. Some guests bring bikes to ride to the beach and around the 5 mile Airpark bike trail. All these attributes make our property unique!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

We are located 2 miles from the gorgeous Atlantic Ocean at Pompano Beach. There's a pier named the Fisher Pier which is the 'heart' of Pompano Beach. There are 3 restaurants right on the beach on either side of the Pier, our favorite is Lucky Fish Grill. It's a giant chikihut! There are fountains and shops & refreshments, a very nice beach 5 minutes East on Atlantic Blvd. There are outdoor Yoga classes every Sunday morning on the beach. There are also near-by malls, drugstores, coffee shops and restaurants. We are walkable distance from a 5-mile bike trail which circles the Pompano AirPark, where the Good Year Blimp, Airport and Golf Course are located. We live in Historic 'Old Pompano'. There are many castle-like homes from the 1920's on our block. The famous Sample-McDougald Home was relocated to the corner of NE 5th Avenue & NE 10th Street about ten years ago for preservation. Our Street name was recently renamed 'Pioneer Drive', but is still NE 5th Avenue. The street sign has both Pioneer Drive and NE 5th Avenue. We live in a school zone, so take caution if traveling between 7:00 and 8:30 am and 2:00 and 4:30 pm. on school days.
