Mountain Townhome - Great Views - Free on Demand Ski Shuttle

Black Bear townhome (Unit 90) is located directly across from Purgatory Resort and is a perfect basecamp for your vacation no matter the season. The townhome features 3 bedroom and 2.5 bath. The gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances includes a bar with seating & opens to the main living space & dining area. Enjoy great views of the ski slopes from either deck.

The townhome home is part of the resort so you have access to free on-demand shuttle service to Purgatory Ski Resort but since it is across the highway you have the privacy and additional space a townhome affords (itā€™s part of a duplex). At 8,900 feet of elevation, the home is a gateway to an amazing winter playground and also serves as the perfect summer retreat, with a million acres of national forest land at your doorstep offering all your favorite mountain activities. Itā€™s only a 2 minute walk to Twilight Lake for fishing and paddle boarding and as well as Purgatory Flats Trailhead, one of the most scenic hikes in the San Juan Mountains. Horseback riding, jeep trails, an alpine slide, epic mountain biking and the Purgatory Inferno Mountain Coaster are all less than 5 minutes from the home.

This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).

The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. For an additional (and optional) 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. When booking, just advise if you would like us to add the additional 4% resort fee.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Amazaing Condo-Pictures Don't Do Justice

This condo is absolutely amazing. Clean, directly across from ski lift with a well stocked kitchen. The pictures do not do this place justice. The master suite was delightful with a fireplace and seating area. It was the perfect spot to ring in the new year with our family. We hope to be back!

Great Christmas ski trip!

We are a family of 7 with 5 kids. House was decorated for Christmas! Ski bus picked us up within 5 minutes of calling. 2 fireplaces keep the house warm. Love the keypad access so no fumbling for keys. Crockpot and griddle were a plus. Wish there were 9x13 casserole pans.

Well started out great but thus property is basically sitting next to busy highway no peace in quiet here road noise allday & night very loud then the fire place did not work in living room then the floors on the first floor hallway to kitchen had not been moped or cleaned properly in awhile dirty plus the upper & lower balconies were completely filthy unusualable chairs & floor deck areas completely covered in filth sad šŸ˜” not able to enjoy them other than that the property was ok

Right across the street from Purgatory and just a short drive from Durango, it was the perfect location for our little family and pups to spend the 4th. The kitchen is nicely appointed with great knives and cookware. As someone who cooks a lot, itā€™s awesome to have higher end items in a rental spot. There is a gorgeous pond, walking trail and playground nearby, which was awesome for our pups and kids. The Nugget was a fabulous find with a super fun atmosphere and fantastic food. Cannot wait to come back and spend more time here.

Dirty sheets/ bathtub and shower

The property itself was very nice however it was not cleaned properly. The master bedroom sheets had hair and stains on them. The master shower also had hair in it on the walls. The master bathtub looked like it had not been cleaned in quite some time. Location and neighborhood were quite nice although would have been nice to know about ongoing construction.

The condo we had reserved was not available.. Luckily I checked my email that morning and saw where they had changed our unit. The condo they gave us didn't have two king beds which is specifically why we had reserved the one we did. We paid the extra 4% fee to use the hot tub but it was a drive aross the highway and then quite a walk from parking lot. The patio was very noisy with highway traffic.

The single queen bedroom bed IS built into the three walls, so two people sleeping DO have to crawl over each other to get out. There is no AC. Ceiling fans, one box fan and one desk fan were not enough. We never cooled off upstairs past 72 degrees at night. And we had to keep all doors open to have air flow. Traffic noise from Hwy 550 is loud with windows and doors open in summer time. Trash must be loaded in your car and driven to a parking lot down the highway. So donā€™t pack your car to leave until you have done that task! Its location was our primary request. We made it work.

Perfect for fall break

Great location and property. We all loved our stay. Could see beautiful fall colors from the patio. Girls love the bunk bed. Fully furnished with all supplies. Only thing to note. there were food crumbs on floor and dishwasher was full. had to run it and empty to load ours.

The perfect place!

This place has the perfect location, close proximity to the resort and all it's amenities as well as the hiking trails. It was so easy to walk right out the door and hit a local trail with stunning views! We also loved the layout of this unit, perfect for a family. Everyone had their own space to relax. We loved the cozy sitting room off the master suite and it seemed to be the favorite spot for family tv watching in the evenings. Will definitely stay again!

Beautiful place to stay

This was a great place to stay. All the luxurys of home. We didn't need to take anything but our belongings and food. The only thing we weren't aware of was the additional fee for pool and hot tub. Also be aware that they are across the road at Pergatory.

Beautiful, Spacious, Well Equipped

This is our second stay in this unit. We stayed here last year and enjoyed it so much, we chose to stay again this year. The townhome is in an excellent location (a bit of a drive to Durango), has plenty of room and is well equipped for a family stay. We highly recommend this location.
