Our Kooaukee Island water-view home located on Bow Lake (accessible by car) was renovated spring 2014. The house has an open concept kitchen, living and dining area which offers a view of the lake. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and a game room. Other amenities include washer and dryer, picnic table, gas grill, outdoor fire-pit. We also have 4 kayaks available for your use.

During the cold winter months you can enjoy snowshoeing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice fishing and of course ice skating.

**Please note: Our target group are families/couples who are looking to enjoy themselves. We do not want loud partying groups as we respect our neighbors. If you are a loud partying group please do not inquire.

Cottage at Bow Lake

Wonderful lake home is beautifully decorated and had everything needed for our stay. Very roomy and comfortable plus fun features for family fun like the game room and putting green. Would definitely stay again!

brief spring getaway

My husband and I were searching for a comfortable and quiet place to stay for a brief getaway and this house was just what we needed! Also we enjoyed the location, and many walks in the area with water views. Our host, Cindy, was very responsive to our needs, and overall this was a very positive experience!

Couldn’t have been better…

This is an absolutely beautiful property in an absolutely beautiful place. The home itself is immaculate and spread out just perfectly. Everything is comfortable from the chairs and sofa in the living room to the super cozy beds. Hope I can get back and stay there again. ❤️

Comfortable, attractive, clean, well-organized house convenient to lake access

Our family have stayed at this house twice and will be going back next year. The owners are very easy to deal with, and the house is well-stocked, well-organized, and very clean. It is a few yards from a small park with sandy beaches for easy lake access as well as picnic tables and a few benches. Berrybogg farm is a few minutes away on Province Road - we like to go there to pick blueberries. If you want some quiet time away on a beautiful lake, this is the perfect place.

A best kept secret!

This home is a fantastic rental. An open floor plan makes it easy to live in, kitchen is well equipped, beds are comfortable, bath towels plush. We had a blast playing the shuffle board in the game room, putting outside, sitting at night around the fire pit. The private beach is just steps away. An easy slope into the clear water; a floating raft was a delightful surprise. Thank you for the nice beach chairs, kayaks, paddle board and wagon to cart all our beach stuff back and forth. Our 2 week family vacation was just so much fun.

AWESOME WEEK

We are 3 seniors from Tn and Ky who choose and research for weeks which direction to head and were to stay when we get there. And we did great on both accounts. New Hampshire is beautiful and Cindy's home was a perfect end to each day of sightseeing. Centrally located for our trips to Mt. Washington, up the Maine coast to Freeport, down the NH coast from Portsmouth, and on the Amtrak to Boston. Or just sitting around the firepit enjoying the fresh air and lake view all week. It's open, clean and just like new inside, all conveniences and necessities where there, all we needed was food. I highly recommend Cindy's lake home for a wonderful vacation. If I'd been a bit younger, I would've been in one of those kayaks touring the lake. Thank you Cindy.

Perfect setup for couples

Property has the best set up for couples and families. There is a master bedroom with bath and a bedroom with 2 twins one one side of the home. On the opposite side of the home is another queen room and another bedroom with 2 twins as well as the full bath. There is so much room you never feel like you are on top of each other. It is so fully stocked that if they don’t have it you probably don’t need it. Everything was neat and cleaned upon arrival. Plenty of lawn games, kayaks, life vests, paddles, seats for patio and fire pit. The fire pit was even all set up and just ready to be lit. Which was great as it rained and it was covered. Listening to the Loons be Loony at night and in the morning is quite the experience. They are a interesting bird and Bow Lake is loaded with them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would visit again.

Awesome House for a Family Get Together/Graduation Celebration

We traveled to New Hampshire from Florida for my sons graduation at UNH this past week. (we use to live in Franklin, MA) We rented Cindy's home as we thought it would be nicer to stay a week in a home vs. a hotel. This house is the best. I've rented a few homes through Home Away and this house did not disappoint at all. My sister and her husband from Richmond were able to come up and stay and we were able to have friends in and out throughout our stay. We had a nice family get together to celebrate my sons graduation and it was a great outdoor spot and there was plenty to keep the kids entertained. This house has everything and was spotless. It has a great layout - very open in the kitchen and living room, plus a bonus game room. Bedrooms are all a nice size and comfortable. The yard and patio are large and great place to hang out. The beach area is a very short walk and beautiful. We didn't have time to use the kayaks, but may have to come back just to do that. Thank you Cindy for sharing your home.

Super Aufenthalt in faszinierender Umgebung

Wir hatten einen super Urlaub im Ferienhaus von Cindy. Der check in war einfach zu handhaben. Die Ausstattung war umfassend, besonders toll waren die Kanus. Damit konnten wir die herrliche Landschaft am Bow Lake erkunden. Wenn wir wieder in dieser Gegend sind, würden wir das Haus wieder mieten. Sehr empfehlenswert, danke Cindy.

Peaceful and comfortable

Better than described !

This property is simply beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. Things we loved: The awesome patio with screen sliding doors and a pellet stove if you get cold. Perfect for the fall/winter. Beds were super comfortable. There was no clutter- it was extremely clean and well maintained. The private beach, kayaks and the awesome view. The quiet neighborhood. The fire pit, BBQ, plenty of chairs, and air hockey. We will definitely be going back!!

Roomy house on Bow Lake

We chose the Bow Lake Family Getaway to be close to my parent”s and sister”s homes in Northwood for my nephew’s wedding. The owners, Rob and Cindy are easy to deal with. The home was clean and very comfortable for the 7 of us. Our choice was based on reviews and location, and it is exactly as advertised. We especially enjoyed the game room and had tournaments on the shuffleboard table. I took an early morning walk and got some great photos of the fog rising from the lake. Best of all, I was commended for making a great choice. If you are looking for a place in that area, you can’t miss on this home. Michael Centennial, Colorado

Great Place

Fabulous home away from home!

My family just came back and we cannot tell you how wonderful this place was. All the comforts of home. Kayaking and swimming were fabulous and the location can't be beat. Cindy provides everything you need and then some! We cannot wait to come back!

Wonderful home on a fabulous lake.

The home was perfect for our 3 generation vacation. House is wonderfully updated and outfitted. Although we packed two SUV's to the brim, we didn't need to bring anything but food and drink. The lake is clean and the beach is sandy. We were in the water everyday, and took numerous kayaking adventures.

Excellent!

We needed a place to accommodate relatives for a family funeral, and this house met our needs very well. It was close to where we needed to be, was in excellent condition, offered a good mix of beds/bedrooms, and had plenty of seating for our crowd. We enjoyed spending time with our loved ones taking walks and playing games on the porch, especially the shuffleboard! The owners were great.

A real gem!

This was our fourth visit to Bow Lake Family Getaway...the owners are great to communicate with, very responsive with any questions or concerns that come up. The lake is beautiful, and it is a very quiet spot. Lots to do right at the house with shuffleboard, air hockey, and outside games and fire pit. Also very close to ocean, mountains, and all kinds of hiking trails. Neighbors are very friendly as well. We love it!

Even more beautiful than advertised!!

We totally enjoyed our stay at Bow Lake--the house was even more beautiful than advertised! This home was equipped with absolutely everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. It was immaculately clean and well kept. We had a small heating issue that the owners took care of immediately with very little inconvenience to us - They were very responsive and dedicated to making our stay the best possible experience! I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in this area!!

We purchased the property in Oct 2013 and spent 9 mos refurbishing the whole house.

The island offers great kayaking opportunities. Our favorite activity is kayaking around the island. Within 45 minutes the trek takes you through open waters to shallow grassy channels where you can see fish, loons and spectacular views.
