Stunning Views Of The Indian Peaks On Mountain Lake

Located a few miles south of Peaceful Valley on the Peak-to-Peak highway, this mountain home is more like a resort than a cabin. Situated on 4 stunning acres, the cabin offers breathtaking views of the Indian Peaks. The cabin has 22-foot cathedral ceilings in the great room and comfortably sleeps 8. The cabin also has 220 feet of private lake access to Hidden Lake. A canoe, paddle boat, and kayak are available for use at the cabin's private dock, and the lake is stocked with trophy-size trout (catch and release only). A private hot tub also awaits guests outside the back door. The Cabin is conveniently located just minutes from the Brainard Lake Regional Park trails. We are also located about 30 minutes away from Eldora Ski Resort and 30 minutes from Wild Basin and the southeastern entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.

We now rent our cabin as a 1 month vacation rental. We have priced the nightly rate to be about the same as a two-week rental at our regular prices - so it is like renting for two-weeks and getting two-weeks free. Fourth Wonderful Stay

This is our fourth stay at the Swanson cabin, and it never disappoints. The property, mountain views, and lake access are all awesome! We highly recommend staying here.

Away from it all

The house is in a great location- wilderness as far as the eye can see when you’re on the deck, but close to trails and towns. We had a great time.

Great stay

We love Hidden Lake and so does our lab. We boated and had coffee on the deck. It is very quiet and peaceful. Great location so close the Brainard Lake area with fabulous trails, and a lovely restaurant in Ward.

Great location on Hidden Lake

We loved the house, it accommodated the of 5 us easily. There are great views of the Indian Peaks, and the lake. Also a lovely gentle path down to the lake. The owners made their boats available--a canoe, a kayak, and a pedal boat.

Amazed!

This was definitely one of the best trips I have had in Colorado. We live in Denver so our family very happy we got to drive an hour away into a beautiful scene! A LOT OF SPACE! Didn’t have to worry about anything other than relaxing! The lake was so much fun to explore and overall there was plenty to explore around the neighborhood. We all took a walk around the lake and it was such a beautiful experience. I cannot say enough good things about this place! Thank you so much!!!!

Perfect mountain getaway

From the first moment we walked into the house, we felt we were at home. It was so comfortable and cozy. We loved the way it is decorated. Mark was so easy to communicate with and quick to respond. He answered all my questions, and I had quite a few. We thoroughly enjoyed the nearby hikes and beautiful scenery each day. Coming back to the house afterward we had so many choices of where to relax and continue enjoying nature. We would definitely stay here again!

Awesome Cabin!

This is the third time my wife and I have stayed at the Swanson cabin. The mountain views and lake frontage along with the multiple acres make it a great place to relax!

Relaxing get away

We wanted to get away from it all and isolate ourselves from the rest of the COVID crazy world. This property was perfect for that!

AMAZING!!!!

WOW!! Our kids had never seen mountains and boy were they impressed, we all were. The views were amazing and the cabin was perfect for a family wanting to just get away. The property is huge, we spent quite a while just walking around the property. The lake was great, again another first time experience for my boys. We had to wait a bit before getting on the boats due to a big moose that was drinking water really close by, so that was exciting!! The hot tub was ready to go as soon as we got there. Towels and toiletries were provided and the kitchen has everything you could ever use while cooking. Great place, I can't stop talking about it....Thanks Swanson Family for sharing your awesome home for all to enjoy. Hope to be back soon.

Perfect getaway!

Marks property was absolutely perfect for our vacation. My wife and I along with our kids, their friends and our grandpups celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by renewing our vows right there on the property. This place is the perfect mountain cabin and we couldn't have asked for a more picturesque setting for our special day. Absolutely LOVED this place!!! Thank you Mark for sharing this wonderful home!

Quiet and off the beaten track but close enough to Rocky Natl Park

When we look for VRBO properties, we like our seclusion but still want to be close enough to the attractions we want to visit. This cabin is a dream! It sits on 4 acres of property with access to a lake with a canoe, paddle boat and kayak. I was happy that the property had a landline phone just in case of an emergency. There is wi-fi and you can make & receive phone calls but it can be a bit spotty, however access to texting, e-mail & other apps is just great. The a/c is really nice--only used it briefly as with the large windows the cabin can heat up at times. Additionally, there are sliding doors & windows you can open to cool things off. At night we left our sliding door cracked open which caused no worries as the door had a piece of wood to keep someone/animal from opening it further. You can tell this is a family getaway as well and there were many creature comforts for your enjoyment. On the deck there is a rocking chair, 4 plastic chairs & two loungers for your enjoyment. The hot tub was lovely, especially to soak sore muscles after hiking. Mark keeps you up to date on anything that might be going on at the cabin & surrounding area and he is very prompt getting back to you with any questions or concerns you may have. Not having a dishwasher was not a big deal, but it is nice to know ahead of time so you can mentally prepare! LOL. The freezer does not have an ice maker but does have 4 ice trays which was fine as I am an ice freak and always need my ice! We appreciate that this property allowed dogs and our two Welsh Terriers enjoyed checking out the chipmunks and squirrels that provided daily entertainment. Lots of work went into landscaping the property and it was so beautiful and peaceful. Thanks again for allowing us to spend some much needed time to recharge our souls!

Mountain Getaway

This property is great. beautiful environment with breath taking views! Great hiking trails near by with amazing fresh air and rivers right down the street. Just know ahead of time you cannot swim in this lake. we didn't know that going into it but believe me when i tell you it is one of the best scenic places you will ever stay in! We had such a great time and hope to do it again.

We arrived in a big snow storm...Mark and his son(VRBO owner) were waiting for us, shoveling and making sure all was perfect with the house. IT WAS! The house was great...the views were stunning and Mark was an excellent person to rent from! I highly recommend this place and would stay there again!!

Perfect!

We had a great time! Only complaint is downstairs shower has very little water pressure, so we all just showered upstairs. The property is great! Lots of room to walk and explore. Host was very accommodating to us and let us check in early. Hot tub was a great amenity. We did get a winter storm on last night, which made it tricky getting down mountain with 2wd SUV. It gets very windy up there.

Gorgeous getaway in the mountains

Went up for a weekend away sort of hoping it would be a moderate fall weekend. We got much colder temps than we expected which meant we couldn’t go on the water. But the place and the surroundings are so incredible that it didn’t matter. We just stayed in and wandered around the property and did puzzles and played games. It’s really an incredible place - the windows give you maximum views of everything. Wake up with coffee and mountain views. Place is well equipped with anything you need. Great hosts!

Above and Beyond

Our family time at the lake house was literally perfect ! The Aspen leaves danced bright yellow against the brilliant blue sky. Time spent boating on this sweet little lake was a highlight, specially at sunset. The kitchen was stocked so nicely for our big family meals. Beds and bedrooms cozy and comfortable. The hot tub could not have been better....great place for stargazing and sunrise...wow Our only problem was choosing which fabulous sitting spot to enjoy next. The grounds are set up so lovely. Just the perfect mix of natural beauty with the creative touch of the property owners. Never expected that cool train track through the woods! We will remember our stay forever and wish to return soon.

Great property for a mountain stay!

Despite some communication issues early in the booking process (Mark originally sent me the incorrect dates), our stay went off without a hitch. Mark was very easy to work with -- the property fit the description and the amenities were wonderful. We had plenty of kitchen utensils, towels, bedding, etc. The lakeside was absolutely gorgeous and we saw plenty of wildlife. The cabin is far enough away from civilization to a break from the real world, but close enough to Denver/Boulder to venture into the city without too much effort.

Moose friends

This is an amazing place! We stayed here for 9 days and got to explore this glorious area. The views of the Indian peaks are shining every morning to greet you with another beautiful day. We saw a moose family swim across the lake while fishing for the rainbow trout ( got a few) . Also a cow and bull stopped by to drink out of the water feature pond. This place is truly like a retreat with several spots to relax and meditate in all of the stunning views. We would definitely come back as this is one of the BEST places we have ever stayed.

Swanson's family home

Beautiful Mountain Views!

This is the second time we have stayed at this beautiful mountain home! The views are spectacular and the location is secluded and quiet. We were a party of eight, and there was plenty of room for all of us! We enjoyed the lake and even caught a fish! Brainard Lake Park is a short drive away and a wonderful place to hike and enjoy nature.

Really enjoyed the stay. The weather wasn't all that great but we still made the best out.

I would recommend this place to anyone that likes to get away from it all and just enjoy the quiet and beauty of the mountains

Beautiful, tranquil cabin perched above a secluded lake

Really enjoyed this cabin. Stunning views, spacious living quarters, and privacy made for a lovely vacation! Would book again for sure. Mark was very helpful with directions and provided all information, including snow/driving report, before our trip. Perfect getaway!

Lovely Mountain Vacation

We had a lovely stay at the Swanson Family Cabin near Ward. The house was perfect for my husband, parents and myself. We enjoyed a little fishing in the lake, hiking up by Brainard Rec Area, relaxing in the hot tub and playing games in the great room.
