My teens and I had a peaceful and relaxing visit. The space was as described. I did discover the large mattresses were both very soft, so if you need back support, the twins are much more firm. The back yard is perfect for cooking out and family dinner. My teens loved being able to take a boat out, and we discovered walking trails nearby perfect for walking the dog. There are many restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Grafik coffee is excellent and it was also a quick drive to Newport. All in all a very enjoyable stay at a much needed time in our life.

Family Vacation

Very cute area. Wonderful for kids! A short walk down the street to a playground and 10 min walk or 2 min drive to a small local beach that you can bring dogs as well.

Cozy and very dog friendly!

It was very clean and a nice, cozy space. The owners are great with communication but non-invasive, which is always good. We had a little snowfall and the owner shoveled around our car and was very thorough! The location was quiet and the marsh view looking out the big bay window is pretty. It was a great little, yet spacious house to stay with our dog. He had plenty of space to play with his toys. Everything was clean and neat. It's an older home but well taken care of and works out really well with a dog! The price was very reasonable. There's a nice trail that runs along the marsh at the end of the street - great for walking your best friend. The surrounding streets are well lit at night and there's a nice field with playground just around the corner. We would highly recommend Mike & Marqy's place for a couple with a dog or a child or just a couple's peaceful getaway.

Absolutely wonderful!

It was exactly what I was looking for. Dogs are allowed, the pet fee and rules are very reasonable. The property was as described with plenty of amenities and the best part was the water right across the street with the living room bay window being a literal window that overlooks the bay! I enjoyed the view very much and was sad when it was time to depart. The closest beach is walking distance. Lots of stores and food in the area so no need to drive too far. Overall an excellent place to stay.

Perfect Winter Getaway

We completely enjoyed our stay! Now with children in high school and college, our schedules don’t always mesh, so when we found we had a few days off in January at the same time, we jumped on finding somewhere in a nearby state that we could drive to easily since we were traveling with our dog. We chose RI, as we never been there before, and we are so happy we did. The cottage was clean and spacious and well equipped. Just a quick hop in the car and we were near something for everyone to enjoy. The landlord was wonderful and helpful and the only thing we would change would have been the weather! We can’t wait to book again in the warmer weather with longer daylight so we can explore and adventure some more! This getaway (whether for the weekend or longer, for a winter break from cabin fever at home or a well earned vacation from daily life), is a perfect place with lovely water views to enjoy some of Rhode Island’s beauty and diversity! So much to do, so much to see. Definitely would recommend booking this property!

The house was very clean and comfortable, kid, teen and dog friendly.One of the upstairs rooms was large enough to set up a toddler cot and/or a pack and play.

The property is just as described, very clean, spacious, and equipped with anything you’ll need to prepare meals. Beautiful location, short walk to a great beach all at a very reasonable price. This was the third time we rented this property and are looking forward to doing so again.

Short RI Stay

This cottage was perfect for our stay for a swim meet held at Brown. It was exactly as described with great communication - check in was easy and we were able to check out later making it much less stressful. Would love to return in the warmer months! Thank you!

Great house and location

This VRBO in Portsmouth was the perfect location! Tons of things to do in a very close proximity. Very friendly neighborhood, coffee shops, and markets. Walkable to the beach and coffee shops. Mike was a great host and very quick to respond via email/text. Will definitely stay here again if ever in the area!

Columbus Day weekend

My friends absolutely love the place. They were originally local haven’t been here in years, but it was a great spot between Bristol Tiverton, Providence Newport.

Beautiful location, comfortable accommodations

Perfect base for us to explore Rhode Island. Very comfortable. Big kitchen. Beautiful view of the water and boats out the front window. Wifi worked great. Beds were comfortable. Bedrooms are all upstairs and bathroom is downstairs. The owner, Mike, lives next door and was very nice. Check-in super easy – just walk in the front door!

Sweet

We stayed for two weeks in this property. Everything worked great and all the necessary supplies were available. It's a great location for visiting all around that part of RI--half an hour to Newport, Little Compton, Providence. The manager was very responsive and gave us fresh towels halfway through. There is a lot of seating on the back deck. The only thing to watch out for is that there are a lot of coyotes in the area, so you will want to be careful if walking a small dog.

Great little place

Great little place (except for all the mosquitoes in the area!). They're brutal, so come prepared! House itself was spacious and nice. Backyard was not what I expected. It's not really a fenced in backyard, its a fenced in deck with about 2 feet of dirt-ish space between the fence and deck. No room for the dog really, which was one reason I booked. So we were not really out there much for various reasons, not just that. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues (no issues here just want people to know as we travel withmy mother in law who is at times). Tub is VERY high and the wall bar is inconveniently placed near the faucet side so harder to get in. Bathroom on 1st floor and all bedrooms on 2nd floor with a slightly narrow/steep staircase. Shared spaces (living room, kitchen etc.) all very spacious and comfortable. Kitchen has an AC that seemed to make the living room comfortable as well. They provided a LOT of fans throughout the house which was awesome. Some waters were in the fridge for us when we got there, not sure if by owner or last renter, but that was a nice perk to have some cold ones waiting (I put more in for the next person because of that! Haha). Upstairs consists of one small bedroom with a double bed (no AC), one spacious bedroom with a double bed (had AC) and the open loft area with 2 twins (no AC). Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best so I only got to see one sunrise from the bay window but boy was it beautiful! All in all a great little plac

Anniversary Trip

We enjoyed our stay in Portsmouth. A very nice and clean property with a waterview out the front window. We were able to walk up to a local ice cream place as well as Flo’s lobster shack, both which were very good. The owner, Mike provided great detailed information and knowledge of the area and of Newport, which was very helpful in choosing what we wanted to see. We look forward to making another trip up into the area hopefully in the near future.

Excellent stay

The house was terrific. It's a beautiful setting on the water. Very comfortable inside, and super super clean. It's a fun area and a pleasant walk to restaurants, the beach, etc. We wish we could have stayed longer. The host provided an incredible wealth of information in advance. Thank you!

Amazing location and stay!

The cottage was perfect! It was so clean, spacious, and equipped with everything that you could need. The water view was amazing, large deck and inside areas, and to have parking, priceless!

Tranquil spot a short distance from historic sites

Mike was a great and communicative host. The big draw is the gorgeous view of the water directly in front of the house. You can sit on the bench and just take it all in. Or even watch it from the comfort of the living room which is also facing the water. Perfect for sunrises! The house was very clean, and had the perfect amount of space for myself and three friends. I didn't use the backyard patio or grill but I may come back sometime and do so! Lots of beautiful places that you can easily walk to. And most of the historic sites and beaches are a short drive away. I personally loved that the charmingly retro Schultzy's Snack Shack is around the corner. Their soft serve is some of the best I've ever had! There were times I wished there was a second bathroom, but that's just because of my own IBS! HA! Overall the house is a find and I'm grateful for the time I got to spend there.

It's priced lower than most, has a terrific view, and rests in the most quiet far inner corner of the neighborhood. There are many areas in the home where one can sit, relax, or read in private . All household essentials are provided. The quality of beds, linen, utensils, furniture is solid.

The set up is child friendly. There are no delicate items, or knickknacks to worry about. Cleaning products, sharp items are not easily accessible by a child. The stairs are padded carpet with a sturdy railing. Baby gates available upon request.

The host will procure any special amenities needed and is available 24 - 7.
