Carolina Dreamin' in DeBordieu Colony is the perfect family home. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, this reverse floor plan is perfect for any family gathering where space is sufficient and gathering is a must. Recently updated, this southern beach rental is surely to become your favorite!

On the first floor of the reverse floor plan, guests will find four bedrooms and four bathrooms along with a den and laundry room with washer/dryer. The upper level features an open floor plan of the living room, dining room, kitchen and a half bath. Fully equipped kitchen has Jenn Air stove, wall oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, and keurig. A master king bedroom with a private bath offering a walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub.

Additional amenities include 65-inch smart TV in living area, TVs in every bedroom, multiple DVD players, wireless internet, two screen porches and ceiling fans throughout the home.

EFFECTIVE MARCH 1ST 2022: This home does NOT include a Debordieu membership for access to community amenities, NO elevator and NO golf cart for guest use.

This property has a traditional drip coffee pot and a Keurig.

No smoking.

Bed & bath linens included.
Fireplace is NOT for guest use.
No motorcycles, trailers or motor homes allowed in the community.
$250 credit for beach rental with VayK Life gear included when you rent this property.

It's a tall house with steep stairs and getting in luggage, gear and groceries is a huge bummer to have to haul.

Gorgeous home, highly recommend!

This is a fantastic home with all the amenities. Kitchen was very well stocked, plenty of games/books, and close walk to the beach. Only confusing part, which I believe has been remedied, is the pool not being included with the home. This was a disappointment, however everything else was excellent!

Reviewer Comments: This house is in a great location with great views but there is lack of general upkeep, broken window treatments, sticking doors, windows, broken lighting, the advertising doesn't tell you to access the Widow's Walk you have to go through a metal hatch and the balcony railing is rotted and unstable, very very unsafe. It worked fine, the rooms are comfortable and roomy, but not worth the money, for so many broken issues and super dated finishes, it's unfortunate.

Great house, few problems

Overall this was a nice house in a good location and spacious for our family. The porches were nice and we enjoyed the pond views. We had a couple problems. Prior to arrival, I emailed the property manager to confirm that there was a crib in the house as advertised online and the manager confirmed this. When we arrived, there was no crib to be found. There was a tiny, old pack n play that was not usable for a toddler. This caused a major problem for us and the property manager did not call back until the next day. We solved the issue on our own by using a local company. I wouldā€™ve made arrangements ahead of time had I known there was not a crib. The AC stopped working and the management company did get help out within an hour and the issue was resolved. Second major problem: When we booked the house, What we did not know, was that you could literally hear every footstep from the main floor above in the downstairs bedrooms as this is a reverse floorplan. It was LOUD and made it hard to sleep. Every time someone in the master got up to use the bathroom, it woke up the family in the bedroom below. Simple walking sounded like a herd of elephants. Forget sleeping in if people are awake upstairs. We even tried tiptoeing and you could still hear it. Carpet, insulation or something needs to be done to remedy this as it did not make for a restful vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was spacious and comfortably accommodated our family of 5 adults and three children. Best thing going for it was the screened in porches with views of the marsh. We had several issues that were hard to overlook after a two week stay. MOLD grew quickly around light fixtures, vents, columns and ceilings. The amount of mold that grew in two weeks was such that he homeowners have to know itā€™s a problem and they are covering it between rentals. ELECTRICAL PANEL was rigged worse than anything ever seen. The utility room was making a beeping alarm noise and it was coming from that panel. Simply closing the door to the room caused a portable low voltage battery that had been hooked up in the panel box to fall out. Loose wires were hanging, and sparks were flying and one of the adults was shocked as a result. The issue was reported and the components were electrical taped back together. BROKEN OVEN DOOR was discovered while opening to remove hot items. We cook, and it was difficult to open the door, the glass would slide and fall creating a burn hazard. GRILL was usable (once) but required 45 minutes of cleaning first. STAIRS! Lots of stairs! Three adults slipped and a 12 year old slipped. All are athletes and not prone to falling. Outdoor stairs were extremely slippery after a rain. This was just a frustrating feature. The elevator that was off limits wouldā€™ve helped a ton. The look out room on the very top wouldā€™ve been fun to access, however it was locked off and a carpet was thrown on the stairs leading to it. Unfortunately, there was a huge gap in the door, allowing heat/humidity to enter. Could have a lot do with the mold problem. We wonā€™t stay in this unit again, and would definitely not recommend.

Typical revolving rental property - Poorly Managed

First off, TideLife was so horrible, we refused to deal with them directly shortly after our stay. The owner was rude, snotty and arrogant. Dealing directly with the owner directly was much more efficient. If the owners are paying TideLife, they should demand a refund. The House: The house has a nice layout located on a quite cul-de-sac. Good location to the beach with a convenient cut-through close by. Great views off the rear deck. The AC worked great and kept the house at a constant comfortable temperature in spite of the oppressive heatwave. The beds were comfortable but at one additional king bed would be nice. The furniture is tired and worn but comfortable. Inadequate # of deck chairs relative to the houses capacity, four rocking chairs total. The second refrigerator on the ground level did not keep food at temperature, in fact, barely worked at all. The smoke alarm had to be unplugged due to them going off and could not be turned off. The elevator worked great and was a big help carrying things to the 3rd floor. The golf cart was weathered but worked. Nice parking and a lot of garage space. The house was relatively clean with an adequately equipped kitchen. The main refrigerator is small but functional. Overall a good stay thanks to the owner making things right. However, we will not be back thanks to TideLife nor stay at any property they manage in the future. The misrepresentation: The house was advertised with a ā€œcrowā€™s nest with great views of the marshā€ (the house was selected specifically for this feature). When we arrived, it was locked with no access. TideLife denied it was mentioned on the property description, in spite of me looking at it while talking to them. Their response was, "well, you can leave with a refund." Huh ? They have since updated the listing and removed that reference. So when you look at the picture, strike the ā€œcrowā€™s nestā€ from your mind. It boasts 6 TVā€™s with multiple DVRā€™s. There are three TVā€™s but only two have cable boxes, therefore, only 2 usable TVā€™s. Two DVD players total. We were forced to deal directly with the owner due to horrible representation by the rental company. They cost the overall rating at least two stars.

The oven cooked unevenly, the fridge had multiple broken shelves and some cabinet drawers were broken. This was annoying, but manageable. Additionally, there was significant work being done on the brush in the backyard during our stay, so relaxation on the porch in the afternoon was tough with the noise/conversations between the workers Lastly, there were amenities promised in the listing that were not available/working during our stay -- The listing promised "new bikes", but the only bikes found were two kids bikes that appeared well loved, the golf cart was very inconsistent in whether or not it wanted to start (it usually did not) and a crib was listed and confirmed prior to our stay, but no where to be found upon our arrival. The property manager was quick to find us a crib (thank you Susan!), but still an unnecessary stressl. Overall, the property has great potential and with some additional updating and more realistic expectations set as for amenities, is great for a large family vacation!

Great House and Wonderful Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is perfect for a family vacation. First, the location is great and allows quick, easy access to the beach or Alligator Alley. The elevator is so nice for unloading and loading, and the garage area has plenty of rooms for cars and golf carts. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the open floor plan on the third floor is perfect for having everyone together. The views off of both porches are relaxing and beautiful. Suzanne and the Tidelife staff did a tremendous job of being accommodating and making sure we had a wonderful time. We could not give her higher marks.
