A lovely pool welcomes in the summer and the winter is close to ski areas as well as having its own sledding right outside the door! Close to Hudson and Great Barrington, less than 2 hours from New York City. Near Rockwell Museum, Omi Art Ctr, Olana and other great cultural sites. Fully stocked kitchen, BBQ grill and rec room includes TV and ping pong. Books and games for your pleasure. Fireplaces grace the livingroom and masterBR. House has 5 BR: 2 queen, 1 full, 2 rooms at 2 twins/ea. 3.5 bath. Extra charge for sleeping over 10pp. 1week max. flexible and full season / per month pricing available. Perfect setting for a gathering of old friends

Very comfortable,, roomy house.. There was plenty to do in the area, and in the afternoons we cooled off at the pool. The kitchen was large enough for all eight of us to participate in cooking some wonderful meals, which we enjoyed on the deck looking out at the great view of fields and mountains . Just the getaway we were hoping for!

Celebration in the Mountains

We (7 adults, 2 children) recently celebrated several milestone birthdays of those in our group by spending a week in Ellen's country home. The home is tranquilly and privately situated off a country lane overlooking the mountains with SPECTACULAR views and sunsets providing a peaceful and beautiful setting. The floor plan was very suitable for a group our size. The bedrooms were roomy, comfortable and well appointed. The number of bathrooms assured convenience and privacy for all of us. The pool was welcoming and delightful where we enjoyed the same views we had from the back of the home on the spacious west facing deck. There were 3 umbrellas for our use. Two were on the deck and one was by the pool. Unfortunately, only one on the deck was operational which was problematic as the afternoon summer sun became uncomfortable. Ellen said there were blinds and awnings ordered to help deal with the glaring sun on the back of the home but they had not been installed for our visit. While this would certainly help with the how hot the main living space became (the back of the home is all windows), obstructing the views is also not a desirable outcome. We were somewhat disappointed in the overall cleanliness of the home. The kitchen in particular would benefit from a thorough cleaning and the refrigerator from a purging of miscellaneous items left by prior guests. The same with the windows. Such beautiful views would have been even more appreciated had the windows been clean and clear. Ellen was excellent at responding thoroughly and quickly to any inquiry we had prior to our stay. We had an occasion to contact the property manager and he likewise was quick to respond. It would be helpful if there were a few more photos included in this listing (basement where the TV, ping pong table and laundry are located and a view of the back of the home from the outside to name a few). We had a delightful week together enjoying the many state parks, trails, and local sites/activities in the area. It was a very enjoyable and memorable week for our family.

Lovely property with amazing views!

We had a fun family getaway at this house over New Years. The views from the back deck and kitchen area are breath taking!! We enjoyed the fireplace a lot, and played a lot of family games over there in the living room with the fire on. Ellen was very easy to communicate with from before the stay and throughout the stay as well. There was a caretaker, Tucker, close by that was responsive as well. The property is large and we even went on a hike around the property. We had a great time!

Beautiful home, views and pool!!!

Everything about this home was incredible. The home met all of our needs and more. It is spacious and has is beautifully decorated with the incredible photos! The bedrooms are spacious and having 3+ bathrooms was great for us. We enjoyed the pool, it’s just amazing! Every night we ate on the spacious deck and watched the sun set. Communication with Ellen was top notch. We had an amazing time!!!!

Beautiful Country Home with increadible views

Ellen was so accommodating with last minute requests and always responsive. I dont think it took her more than an hour to ever write back. My friends and I were very impressed with the home and enjoyed our time there. I will certainly be interested in using her property again. Thanks Ellen!

Perfect in every way!

Ellen was the best host and always available for any questions. The house and pool were incredible. We could not have had a better stay - and will certainly be back! What a fantastic weekend!

Beautiful spacious home with amazing sunset views!

I was so lucky to have had the opportunity to stay in this beautiful home for my mothers 80th birthday family reunion. The owner Ellen was extremely patient and accommodating to us both before and through out our stay, always available for questions. Upon arrival we we found a complimentary bottle of prosecco wine in the fridge with a little note! The house is clean and bright, decorated with beautiful photographs taken by the owner of her various travel experiences.The main living area and kitchen were open and the big windows and sliding glass doors opened to a huge deck overlooking the mountains in the distance. We saw magnificent sunsets! All the bedrooms and bathrooms had all the linens and towels needed for the 13 of us.The kitchen was fully supplied. We are hoping to come back again for our reunion next year too! Could not have found a better place. Thank you again Ellen for providing such a beautiful home for our gathering.

New Yorker with a yen for the mountains. I use this home more than I rent it out, so it has all the comforts I like when I am taking a break from the heat of summer or sitting by a fire in the winter.

This property, aside from the million dollar view, is close to great restaurants, ski areas, culture and a quick trip from NYC and environs, yet secluded from all.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

2 wood burning fire places, 20x40 pool, views, woods for hiking and lots of separate areas for privacy as well as a large space for family and friends. Great for family gatherings although house is not child proofed. Also, every room has a ceiling fan and the ridge has breezes all day long but the house has no AC except for a ductless in the basement.
