Family Vacation

Close To The Beach

Perfect Beach Getaway

The property is so colorful and fun. It was a perfect layout for our family. Location is just perfect , short 2 block walk to the beach and minutes from the strand, pleasure pier and even moist gardens. Will definitely stay again!

Excellent Location & Helpful Host

You can't beat the location; our host was immensely helpful. The house is stocked with essentials and clear signage on how to get around the property. Best beach house ever!

Loved it!

Mary was a dream to communicate with and the property was perfect for our family of 5 + fur baby. Great location within walking distance of restaurants and the beach, and it had all the amenities we could ever need. We plan to stay here again!

Galveston Oasis!

I can't say enough great things about this property. The location was ideal and the house was stocked with everything you could possibly need. We had such a wonderful time and I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Galveston. We will be back!!

This was the best property we have ever ever stayed at! Anticipated every need. Unbelievable friendly owners! Very kind and gracious! We all survived a hurricane together!

Beach Time!

We had a wonderful stay! Mary and Henry were definitely great hosts! They made us feel very welcome! The house was clean and very inviting! A little bit of a walk to beach but we didn’t mind! Thank you hopefully we’ll be back!

Great for our family vacation

Casa Vida was a great vacation home, just a short walk from the beach. The property was clean and well-appointed, as it appears in the pictures. We loved the fun beach decor, and the owners thought of everything to make things convenient and comfortable, such as providing movies and games, kitchen essentials, beach toys, and even some snacks. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and to ensure that our stay was going well. We felt it was in a safe, convenient location, and we thought it was a great value as well. I would definitely recommend this property!

Perfect Property!

This place is fantastic. Mary and Henry have thought of every single detail to make the house a perfect beach rental. The house is immaculate and so well cared for. Mary sent us a text to check in with us to make sure everything was perfect. She even took the time to help us with food delivery options. The beds were so comfortable and the linens were soft! We had a wonderful time and will return and recommend!

Convenient for everything

Had a mother daughters mini vacation this past weekend and to say we had a blast was an understatement! Our faces when we walked in to this beautiful house was priceless! Especially my girls fighting over which bed they were gonna sleep on. We met Mary the 1st night there and she was very welcoming and nice to talk too! The house had everything you needed to beach stuff (all of it), bikes and walking distance to shops and food! Definitely recommend! Thank you for being such a great host!!

Girls weekend

This is the perfect property for a trip to Galveston. We did a girls trip and had plenty of room for the 6 of us. The property was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked dishes and cookware. The Seawall beach was a 2 block walk and the property had chairs, umbrella, coolers, sand toys, beach chairs, and a huge wagon to make for an effortless beach day. Although we didnt use them, there were also 6 bicycles for use. Multiple seawall restaurants are just a few blocks over and The Strand was a quick Uber ride away. The property owner was extremely nice and responsive. I would highly recommendthis property.

Lovely Home in Residential Galveston

This house is located on a quiet residential street, a couple of blocks from the seawall and beach. It is comfortably furnished, with a well equipped kitchen. We cooked almost every night for the month we stayed. Part of the Galveston's charm is that feels like a place where place where people actually live - not a contrived beach town. That extends to this house. Probably built in the 30's or so it is funky and full of character. As such the rooms are smaller as was typical for that era. Basically,if you want a boring, mundane suburban home go elsewhere. Our only complaint is that the hurricane shutters make the place a bit dark. Probably not a problem in summer, but in winter, when a lot of time is spent indoors it is noticeable. The hosts, Mary & Henry are great people. Natives to Galveston they have tons of local knowledge which they are happy to share.

Yes, the hurricane shutters are new, and we too noticed that it darkened the rooms, but they are necessary for our area. For future winters we plan to raise them a bit more to let in more light. You thought of everything!

Sorry for the delay, we stayed the week before school started so we are just getting settled. The home is immaculate, I am a neat freak ask anyone and they will attest to this and I could not find anything that looked suspect. The bikes, body boards and beach towels were a blessing and we enjoyed the island and waves which we could not have done without your provided equipment. The shower in the back was splendid, the fact we could just strip and throw the clothes in the washer a few feet away was pure genius. The beds and furniture were comfortable, the dining was great for games and eating, the porch lovely. The people in Galveston are friendly, I am used to plastic people living in a suburb of Houston and I was so happy to see people actually talk to you and engage in conversation, how refreshing. We are going to book again, now hubby won't stay in a hotel even as a diamond member, you have us hooked. Forgot to tell you we found this property because the Hilton was booked solid, and what good fortune for us.

Right at Home, Near the Beach, in Real Galveston

We felt so at home at this immaculately-kept, thoughtfully-appointed house so near the beach, yet away from all the cares of everyday life. It was obvious to us as soon as we set our suit cases down (maybe as soon as we drove up, but it was dark) that great care had been taken to attend to guests' every need and desire. Every time I thought to need something-- a piece of foil? a fresh glass of purified water?--it was exactly where I'd find it right away. The level of detail was unparalleled in any vacation rental we've stayed in--many much more costly than this (great value for this very reasonably-priced house!). Every thing you need for a perfect getaway with your family, friends, or even by yourself is in this lovely, near-beach home. We walked to the beach and all over the neighborhood with our dog and kids, played with the neighborhood kids, had friends and relatives stop in to visit us, and just took in Galveston in a low-stress, non-commercial way that was just right for our family. Books, games, movies, stereo system, comfortable beds (a rare find!), stylish and cheerful decor, beach chairs, bikes, toys, off-street parking (and more on-street)--this house had it all and we look forward to future stays here! Owners Mary and Henry are attentive and friendly without intruding in the least. If you just want a few days off from worries, this is the place.

Great Galveston Vrbo

The decor and landscaping of this property was beautiful. My husband, myself and our 4 teenage/young adult children stayed here comfortably, and no one had to be on a hide-a-bed or air mattress. Nice porch for morning coffee, and grill on back patio, which we used to bbq one night. 2 blocks from beach, and they have bikes, coolers and beach toys there for your use. We even locked ourselves out one day, and Mary very nicely came over and let us in. Would highly recommend this property, and we will stay there again if we are ever in the Galveston area. Weekend vacation

We stayed for a weekend and got in late the first night. Mary turned the lights on for us and ask if we needed anything. The place was perfect for my family. Good location, 5 min walking to beach or restaurants.We rented a golf cart which made even easier to get around. Mary had a book of everything we needed to know about Galveston. Places to go, things to see. The house was clean, very relaxing, neighborhood was quiet. They had all beach accessories you needed if you didn’t have something. We will for sure book here again when we’re in Galveston.

Absolutely Amazing

We cannot give a big enough thumbs up. The house was gorgeous, clean, inviting and fully stocked with everything we could possibly need. Communication with Ms. Mary was wonderful, she and her husband really made our stay comfortable. She even went out of her way to find a bike with training wheels for our 5 year old! We can't wait to come back again :)

First time for granddaughters to go to the beach!

I dont even know where to begin. We (myself, husband and 2 granddaughters 3 & 5) stayed here for 4 of the most amazing days. Ms. Mary and Mr. Henry are amazing and wonderful people. Their home is so warm and welcoming. They thought of everything you could possibly need or want. We will definitely be back! Thank you for the wonderful memories!
