This place is AMAZING!!! Just like the photos but even better in person. We loved it so much this is our second time booking it. Friendly host with great communication. Very clean, comfortable, and great amenities. If you are looking for a cozy, country retreat, with fabulous sea and Mountain View’s, this is your place!

The home exceeded our expectations - it's better than the photos convey. The view is unbelievable! It is a charming & tasteful mix of traditional and contemporary with lots of options for gathering and eating inside and outside. It was a family gathering/heritage trip and we stayed at Casa Pilatos for 2 weeks. We came from the east and west coasts of the US with an age range from 11 mths - 72. Our adult children said "it was perfect" and they grade hard! Alexandra set up a crib, high chair and a gate to the stairs. We utilized all of the house and the grounds and found the house and kitchen to be well stocked. The welcome food and treat basket was greatly appreciated after a long day of travel. Two nites we grilled and ate outside; another nite we hired Chef Dalit. I highly recommend her! The menu was a surprise based on the fresh ingredients at the market; the wine pairing addition is a must do.Note: The 24 hr. street light shines into the bedrooms. Bring an eye mask, if you are light sensitive. We did a lot of driving to due to the far west location. Remember to chill & spend time at the house; watch the sunset from the swing set. The walk to the village takes a good 25 min. downhill. Turn right at the bottom of the street then left through an opening in the concrete wall vs. the road. The tablet on the desk by the front door has restaurant and tourist information; however, there are no house details. The combo W/D takes a long time to dry the clothes.Cheers!Lori

Special stay in Mosteiros

We stayed for five nights and wished it was longer. The cottage was charming, quiet and the view was outstanding. Our hosts were helpful and as charming as the home. We felt as though we were staying in a well loved, special place.

Super stay

Great location, beautiful spacious property. Traditional charm with modern amenities. Especially loved the sun room. Outside shower area nice. Easy to get everywhere. Enjoyed the local beach/steves, sete citades, santa barbara beach/cafe, hot ocean pools- geothermal pools, plantations… all of it.

Unbelievable!!

Absolutely the best home away from home!! It was so lovely that we had a hard time leaving for a day of site seeing!! The new "glass room" was our favorite!!

Very nice property

We had a very nice time in this beautiful house. The decoration is very tasteful - including a stunning bathroom with a view - and the garden is amazing. There is a nice view of the sea, though you'll need a car to drive yourself around.

Peaceful, Beautiful View!

Welcomed by the host with tea and provisions, we had an excellent beginning to our stay in the Azores! The home is tastefully decorated, beds and pillows comfortable, kitchen well-stocked, and the outside garden areas are very inviting! The host gave recommendations for sites to see and restaurants to try. We loved the peaceful location and the views of the ocean from the yard. I would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend this beautiful home!

Incredible home and location

We were absolutely blown away by the quality of the property, very clean, with all the amenities we needed and more!! The home is even more beautiful in person. There has been a recent addition to the veranda in the back, perfect place to sit at the table for dinner. Absolutely stunning unobstructed views. The host was so very thoughtful and friendly. Thank you!!!

Spectacular Place!

Pictures do not do it justice! It's even better in real life! Three couples easily shared the quaint and cozy villa which was a great home base for our island adventures. Alexandra met us on arrival and was very responsive to our questions and minor hot water/pump issue that was easily (quickly) fixed. Will absolutely stay here again when we return! We had a fantastic time and loved everything about this home and the island!

Serene special place that definitely feels like you've arrived home.

Amazing views, sweet horses, beautiful new sunroom, love the outdoor bathroom...I could go on & on, but suffice to say this place & its owners are wonderful! We felt the peace & tranquility the moment we arrived. Every detail you could ask for was thought of in advance. We were welcomed with a variety of local treats to enjoy until we could get to a supermarket. Consider booking a little longer stay to give yourself some extra time at the house to thoroughly enjoy the numerous zen areas that really rejuvenate your soul!

Fun house with amazing sunsets

The house is very unique and there are nice touches that show the owner put a lot of thought into making sure guests have a great experience. The finishes throughout the house are high quality. The location was perfect - away from people but close enough to drive down to the town and beach, and the view is incredible. Sometimes it was hard to leave to house to go explore the island.

This house and property were stunning! The pictures don't do it justice. Highly recommend it. The grounds are beautiful with amazing views and outdoor seating. The house has 3 large bedrooms. The entire house is well furnished, with comfortable beds and decorated beautifully. Great welcome gifts from the host as well!It isn't close to restaurants, so buy your groceries before you get there. But you won't want to leave!

Wonderful house

The house was spotless and retained the charm of an older house but with wonderful amenities like the master bath and comfortable beds. The swing was not pictured but a great surprise. The serenity and views exceptional. We had a flat tire the night before our very early flight and host responded and helped.

Pilatos House

This property was amazing. The hostess, Ms.Rui, was welcoming to all—including children. The house has everything anyone could think of and is a wonderful blend of central location near items of interest along with peace and tranquillity. Our first time to the Azores, but will definitely come back to Pilatos House. Couldn’t ask for anything better!

Beautiful home!

Enjoyed everyday of our stay here. After touring around the island everyday we couldn't wait to get back. Especially enjoyed the sunroom off the kitchen. We sat out there every single day. Coffee and breakfast in the morning. Wine and cheese appetizers and dinner in late afternoon. Luckily we brought binoculars to try and spot whales and watch fishing boats.So much bird activity to observe. Great to watch them come and go and build nest or get drinks from the water bowls outside.Such a beaeutiful place.

Portuguese Paradise!

Casa de Pilatos was beautiful! Mornings with coffee overlooking the ocean, or watching sunsets with a glass of wine - it was the perfect country house. Very peaceful and relaxing, the historic house was charming and spotlessly clean, with modern appliances and baths. We used it as a "home base" and ventured out (after breakfast on the outdoors picnic table every morning) to explore the beautiful island. Heavenly! Alexandra was the perfect host and immediately contacted us when we had a question. Best vacation ever!

Amazing View!

This place is incredible! We stayed for the first four nights of our holiday, but I could have stayed a lot longer. I didn’t want to give up the view! We appreciated the food waiting for us when we arrived, and the house is even nicer than what you see in the photos. (I wasn’t sure what to make of the outdoor bathroom from the photos, but I kind of loved it.) It’s a bit of a drive from the airport but more than worth it for the house and surroundings.
