This extraordinarily relaxing & serene home-away-from-home at the beach is a beautiful, classic 2 bedroom California beach bungalow. Just steps to the beach with ocean views inside and out.
Walk to famous Tamarack beach on a scenic trail. You will love dining on the patio and gazing out to the sea. Relax as children and pets play in the yard.

From the house, it's just a quick 1 mile drive -- or a gorgeous 20 minute walk along the ocean -- to the center of Carlsbad's Village, where you will find restaurants of every description, lots of shops and the Coaster train station.

Go just 1 mile in a different direction to find a supermarket, drug store, the freeway entrance, and all the conveniences.
Gourmet markets, fine dining and shopping, and Legoland theme park are all available within minutes.

Your beach house is fully equipped, and features wonderfully comfortable beds, a big TV in the living room, a well-stocked kitchen, off-street parking, private laundry facilities, a grassy yard with patio furnished for outdoor dining and lounging, a propane grill, a fire-ring for enjoying an evening beverage, and an outdoor shower for your pleasure upon returning from the beach.

And it's sparkling clean!

At the beach you will find lifeguards, restrooms and showers. There are designated areas for surfing and swimming. Beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, boogey boards, beach toys and coolers are provided. Pelicans, egrets, seagulls, and great blue herons will point the way as you follow the short and easy scenic trail from the property to the beach (about a block-and-a-half, about a 5 minute walk.)

In the evening, enjoy the view of the magnificent sunset over the Pacific and the graceful flight of many sea birds, while you cook dinner on the grill. If you've brought children, there's plenty of room for them to play, and you can relax knowing they are safe in the yard.

Stroll, bike, or rollerblade one mile up the coast to the 'village' for lunch. Explore the small shops, boutiques, antique stores and cafes. There are many excellent restaurants.

Perfect Family Beach Getaway

Our family had a great time staying at this beach house. The neighborhood was quiet and relaxing while being close to the beach. The house was comfortable and clean and has a nice view of the ocean. Our family and dog enjoyed the evenings in the large yard eating dinner, watching the sunset, and spending time by the fire pit. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Beach Cottage

We've had lots of experience renting beach vacation rentals and it can be hit or miss. This rental was definitely a "hit" and worked out beautifully for our family of 4 and 2 dogs. It was comfortable and roomy and came equipped with everything we'd need for the week. The beach was a short walk away and we really appreciated having use of a beach parking permit.

Perfect place for 2 grandparents and 2 kids

Great place with a view of the lagoon and the ocean. The bedrooms were nice, the kitchen was very nice. We appreciated the outside shower after an afternoon at the beach. It really was quiet. We played in the backyard which was very pleasant and spacious. We were visited by a rabbit during our stay. We highly recommend this great house.

Great little house right near the beach

My family and i really loved this house.The backyard was nice and big and closed in so we didn't have to worry about our toddler when she played in the yard. The ocean view was lovely while we enjoyed our evenings out in the yard. The house was well stocked for all our basic needs which made it feel even more like a home. Everything was very clean and convenient. We loved our stay and can't wait to come back again!

VRBO said it was two full baths. Its not. One full bath and outdoor shower.

Fraud and deceptive advertising. I booked this because it said two full baths. It's not. One full bath with a barn door and an outdoor shower. Had to get another property after check-in for my adult kids because someone lied about this being two full baths. Property manager said VRBO considered it two full baths because it has an outdoor shower. What????

Great Little Beach House

"Weā€™ve really enjoyed our stay. We used to live in the area and knew the location of the property would be just what we wanted. The accommodations were just right for the two of us and the appointments were above what we've had in other vacation rental properties. There was also plenty of storage in the garage for bikes that we rented and there were numerous beach toys that we could have used if we weren't having fun doing other things. for beach things. Carlsbad Village was within easy walking distance so many great restaurants were easy to get to. The beds were comfy and the place was more than warm on a couple of colder nights. We didnā€™t use the gas grill or the gas fire pit. Kitchen was good enough for the two of us in terms of functionality and working space and there was more than adequate dining room area both inside and outside for six or more people. The only minor complaint was that the internet was a little slow at times, but we understood that this was being fixed and it really didn't inconvenience too much. Weā€™ll definitely be returners in the future."

Perfect Place to Stay in Carlsbad

This is the second time staying at this property and would never want to stay anywhere else! The house, yard, view and location is great. Easy access to the beach with just a short walk along the lagoon. Quiet neighborhood yet close enough to everything in the village. Nice, clean and modern beach cottage

The cottage is really well done and nice and clean and is located behind the lagoon with an ocean view. The large yard with the fire pit and dining table is really nice as you can see the water from both. The only negative is if you really like privacy as the yard is only abut 75% fenced with the white wall you see in the pictures. The other 25% is about a 3 foot wire fence that in the street corner location so that you can get the ocean view. It's kind of a trade off and at first I was hesitant as I love privacy and a lot of people park around that street and walk to the lagoon or beach so lots of people walking by. However we ended up sitting out there in the yard the whole time looking at the view so I get why they did it and I didn't feel at all like people were looking in or anything. It was designed very carefully to feel private and still get the view. It is a little further from the village than we normally stay as we like to walk or bike to the village to eat. I suggest bringing bikes if you can as that makes this little cottage just about perfect. We really enjoyed our stay with our son and our dog at this well kept cottage.

Great staycation while our house was under construction

We are locals and had a fabulous 4 night staycation at this cottage while our home was having some work done. The photos don't do the views or the yard justice!...yard is larger than shown in photos and lagoon and ocean views were very soothing. Every morning we sat at the outdoor table with umbrella (not pictured) for coffee and breakfast, and every evening sat by the gas fire pit (not pictured) for a sunset glass of wine and watched people out walking their dogs. The outdoor living vibe really makes this place. The yard is totally fenced in so we were able to bring our doggy. We were also able to easily fit both our cars in the driveway. We were a 5 min walk from Vigilucci's for evening happy hour, and a 15 min walk from the Village. On Wednesday we perused the farmer's market in the Village and brought home supplies for a great little dinner in the well stocked kitchen. Wifi was strong so we were able to jump on Zoom calls as needed. Perfect size place for a couple and a dog. Second bedroom is pretty small so it would be best for a child vs. another adult. Owner & Manager were quick to respond with a couple of questions we had. A/C blew ice cold when we needed it. Check in and out were super easy. Thanks for a great stay! :)

Perfect Beach House

We had a great time. Close enough to the beach to walk. Denise and Genny were great and answered all of our questions. The yard is a definite plus especially at night to enjoy the views and let the kids play.

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at this adorable home in Carlsbad. Honestly, the pictures posted online should be updated because the home was even better than shown online. It was clean, comfortable, and in a great neighborhood. We would absolutely stay here again!

House is open and nice. 5 min walk to beach. If you have dogs, just know that areas of the fence are very low (guessing owner wanted the best view of ocean) and dogs could easily jump over.

Beautiful, cute home- great location!

This location cannot be beat! It was quiet, clean and lovely. The house is small, but bright and sunny and had what we needed. We brought our older pup and 2 kiddos along and everyone was comfortable and happy. The highlight is the location- on a quiet street, right above the lagoon, a 5 minute, easy walk to the beach. As another renter noted, the beaches close-by are not dog friendly, so be aware of that. We enjoyed Carlsbad- there was a great pizza place we went to twice (Knockout pizza), had great, local brews and ice cream. We took surf lessons from Rusty and Homer at SoCal Surf lessons (it was SO fun) and enjoyed just being in the sun in the front yard. A few tiny amenities would make this house really shine: a few games/cards, extra blankets, coffee and a few oils/spices/bottle of wine? Not necessary, but would be a nice touch. :) We would definitely return.

Carlsbad Perfection

Pictures do not do this place justice! The outdoor space and backyard is gorgeous, with an ocean view. We spent most nights out there cooking with our kids playing and watching the sunset. It is also on a very quiet street and feels private. If you have smaller kids, it is a longer walk to the beach, we ended up biking with our toddler and it worked great. The lagoon is just across the street which also makes for fun exploring. The only thing I wish was that the master had a king bed (and it would fit). But aside from that it was literally perfect and we will return! Thanks so much to the hosts!

Lovely!

Organized, comfortable, updated and welcoming property. This property offers all the comforts of home you would want, in a nice neighborhood with beautiful views. The neighbors are close however the property still feels private. This rental was very clean and sanitary without feeling cold and sterile.

The owners provided all the information necessary to make check in and check out easy and straightforward. 2 small things that might helpful for dog owners: 1) Carlsbad State beach is NOT dog friendly. We should have checked beforehand, but coming from the Bay Area where almost every beach is dog friendly, we didnā€™t even think about it. The closest dog friendly beach was about a 20 minute drive and it was lovely. 2) The property is fenced in (as stated in the description), however it is quite low in certain areas (2-3ft). Our dog listens well so he stayed away, but it might be good to know for those who have larger dogs.

Great little house!

We loved this cute house. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking supplies (bring your own ingredients), and the yard is a great place to hang. Would definitely come back.

Starting with my early childhood summer vacations in Hawaii, I have always loved the beach and ocean. I have enjoyed the magnificence of an ocean view virtually my entire adult life, and consider it an essential. Getting tossed by the waves and walking on the beach are two of my favorite pastimes. It delights me to share the experience of these things with my guests, and to see their smiling faces as they relax and enjoy the stunning meeting of earth, sea, and sky!

'This is the Best Spot in Carlsbad!' This little neighborhood has it all: The gorgeous views of the ocean and the lagoon, wonderful ocean breezes, a trail from the property to the beach, proximity to the restaurants of the Village and the Coaster train, great nearby shopping, easy freeway access -- but it's just far enough away from all these to avoid the noise and traffic! It is also a wonderful neighborhood, with many long-time residents who couldn't imagine a better place to be, and who really care about each other. And, being at the North end of San Diego County, it's a great location for day trips to Disneyland or LA as well as all the San Diego attractions.

There is something very special about classic beach houses, built by hand by the original owner with lots of TLC. There's a feeling of peaceful enjoyment, serenity, and the beauty of nature. Yet, it's just a stones throw to all the action! Carlsbad's best beach, Tamarack, is right out front. It is a sandy beach with lifeguards (summer only), restrooms, and showers. The Village is one mile away, with many restaurants, cafes, icecream, gift shops, and boutiques. A shopper's delight awaits at the Carlsbad Company Stores outlet mall, a 5 minute drive. The lagoon (just to the south and east of the property) offers fishing, exploring, jet skiing, and sailing. Many guests love to simply relax in the ocean breezes, enjoying the sunshine and views from the yard and patios, dining outside, and letting the kids or pets play safely in the yard.
