Never disappoints

La Gardenia at Sol de Este is a fabulous location. The grounds and pool were very well maintained. We always hire a vehicle to enable us to visit the other beautiful locations on Menorca. It is somewhere my daughters and I will never tire of.

July 2023

We have been visiting Menorca for over 40 years and have stsyed both in sol del este and numerous othef locations around the island. 38 La Gardenia was a great property to stay in. The communication with Fiona the owner was very efficient and the property was just as described. It was excellently equiped and the air con was a grest bonus. The location is perfect for dinners in Es Castell a short 10 minute walk away or Mahon via a taxi or bus from Es Castell (or 30 minute walk if not too hot!) We would definitely consider renting again in the future.. thanks a lot Jonathan and family

Our Holiday in La Gardenia

We stayed in La Gardenia at the end of May 08; and because we stayed in this complex in the past were familiar with the area. The accomodation; was as described; very clean, modern furniture; and everything you would need for a self catering holiday. The location of the property; was nice and overlooked the pool area. This is ideal for families with young children; as you can easily keep your eye on them from the apartment. The complex is within easy distance of Cala fonts Harbour; and you could easily eat at a different restaurant/bar every night. If you would like to go further afield; I would recommend hiring a car. The only downside to our holiday; was the weather; it rained a few times and was cloudy quite a lot too; but this didn't deter us from enjoying ourselves! I would recommend this property; not only for what is provides; but also for the beautiful gardens around it. It was also fun to watch the large cruise liners glide past the rear of the complex!

La Gardenia is beautiful!

The apartment was perfect for our party which consisted of 5 adults and a nine month old. The accommodation is very well equipped and we were provided with a travel cot and highchair for our granddaughter. We had very high temperatures during our week but the ceiling fans in each room were ample for keeping the apartment cool. Definitely no need for air conditioning. The pool is good size for serious swimmers and great fun for the rest of us who want to splash about with the children! It's kept clean and is in very good condition. The surrounding gardens are also tended very well. They look so pretty and the occasional tree offers lovely dappled shade when you need it. The rear of the apartments have a huge lawn where you can relax on sun-loungers, watching super-yachts, cruise liners, and dinghies sailing up and down the estuary leading to the harbour. Most importantly, the apartment is perfectly situated for a short stroll to the restaurants harbour, town and bar! The walk along the rocky coastline is also worth it but wear sturdier shoes than flip-flops. We will definitely by re-booking.

La Gardenia is superb

We have stayed in no. 38 several times over many years and the first impression as I walk through the gate is always this is where the relaxing starts. The apartment is cool even with the recent double glazed windows and doors and the furniture and furnishings are good quality and comfortable. The small patio at the rear is ideal for breakfast and lunch being just sheltered from the breezes off the harbour entrance and there is plenty of space for sunbathing too. There is plenty more room around the pool giving lots of choice. The friendly service provided by the owners and the maintenance team cannot be faulted. It is also ideally placed for a gentle stroll down to Cala Fontes and the large choice of restaurants where fresh fish and seafood are in abundance and always reasonably priced. We will hopefully keep coming back.

La Gardenia 2011

We have just returned from our holiday, after 2 wonderful weeks in this apartment.The apartment was very clean and had everything you would need in it.The patio out the back realy is a lovely sun trap we use to eat out there in the evenings,and made full use of the patio in the front when the children were in the pool. We loved relaxing in the gardens watching the boats.There are some very nice resturants in Cales fonts which is just a short walk away, we were lucky enough to be there for the fiesta. We would to come back to this apartment next year.

Lovely apartment!

We have just come back from a 2 week stay at this apartment in La Gardenia and had a lovely holiday with fantastic weather. The apartment has all you would ever need on holiday and a big plus point for us was a comfortable bed! The property managers were at the complex regularly and it was nice to know if we had any queries that they would soon be dealt with. the owners were also extremely helpful and the booking process was very easy and simple. I particularly appreciated the supply of basic groceries on arrival as it meant we could just relax on arrival and shop later. It was great to be on the ground floor for ease of access around the complex and the pool is literally on the doorstop without feeling it is in your way. Most rooms had a ceiling fan which was a must as it was very hot whilst we were there and the shutters meant we could have the windows and patio doors open for air flow but still felt safe and secure. My only bit of advice would be that the view of the harbour from the rear patio is very limited and if you were planning on sitting out to watch the boats you would need to move your chairs etc further round the garden. But on the plus side the rear patio is a fantastic sun trap and great for drying clothes super fast! On the whole I would definitely recommend this apartment and would certainly consider coming back here.

We're really pleased to hear that you had such a good holiday in our apartment, and that you found the arrangements, and the location and features of the apartment, to your liking. Good to hear that you made full use of the rear patio, which is one of the largest ones attached to any of the ground floor apartments in La Gardenia, and that the weather confirmed its reputation as a premier sun trap! We feel that the front of the apartment forms a secure, almost fully enclosed, area by the pool, which has the advantage of easy supervision of children, The rear patio allows sheltered al fresco dining, and also easy access to the very large rear lawn, with its view of the world's second largest natural harbour, stretching from Mahon city to La Molla on the opposite headland. Many thanks for your review - we hope to have you back at No. 38 in the future!

Lovely La Gardenia!

We have had a fantastic week staying at La Gardenia - the stylish apartment was superb. It is well appointed and has everything you could wish for. I especially appreciated the mesh covers to put over your dishes of food as you were laying the table for lunch! The large dining table on the rear patio was great and we had many al fresco meals which we are missing now we are back in the rainy UK! It was particularly relaxing to be on the ground floor, being able to wander in and out the french windows at the front and rear of the property. The owner was very helpful and was able to answer our many questions before our trip. The gardens are beautiful and we found lots of lovely restaurants at Calas Fonts. We are just trying to work out when we can go back next year, I can’t wait!

La Gardenia 2007, 2008, 2009

The accommodation was as described and everything you would need for a self catering holiday. The gardens and pool are beautifully kept. The location is perfect with a fantastic view over Mahon harbour and easy walking distance into Cala Fonts with its good selection of restaurants/bars where you can watch the world go by on foot and on boats. Three times here is a good recommendation and we will probably be back again soon.
