Great house, wonderful hosts.

Beautiful house in a small village. Close to everything by car. The owners are fantastic and communicate quickly. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat, close to the beach by car, this house is a great choice.

Perfect

This place was exactly what my wife and I were hoping for. From the moment we walked in the door we were blown away by the layout and location of the old olive mill. Nestled in the village of Anapolis, we were staying in a true Greek village. The locals were very friendly and the accommodations were like something out of a magazine with all the amenities necessary for a wonderful stay. As pretty as the pictures are of the place on this site, you really have to see it in person to appreciate how nice of a setup it truly is. Must also mention the Golden Cage, an excellent restaurant right in the middle of the village serving authentic Greek food in a wonderful setting just a short walk away. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a real Greek experience!

Fabulous Cretan hide-away

Wow! The Old Olive Mill is a gorgeous restoration, with a sun-trap courtyard for dining/reading/lounging and amazing views from the two balconies of the monastery across the valley. Blissfully quiet, interrupted only by tinkling goat and sheep bells and the little hoopoe bird singing its heart out from the telegraph wires. The village is tucked away, very quiet, with a little cafe and a great restaurant. Yet all this is only a twenty-thirty minute drive from Heraklion and Knossos. Perfect place from which to explore Crete, perfect villa, perfect holiday - and perfect hosts. Huge thanks to Manolis for the welcoming bottle of wine, recommendations for car hire, and amazingly prompt resonses to WhatsApp messages. We couldn't possibly have asked for anything more. Fabulous!

Eine traumhafte Ferienwohnung! Liebevoll renoviert und eingerichtet mit allem was man braucht. Ein sehr gastfreundlicher Vermieter! Die Anfahrt über die Bergstraßen ist nichts für Angsthasen oder Fahranfänger. Aber einmal oben, wird man mit einem tollen Panoramablick belohnt. Auf der schattigen Terrasse, auf dem sonnigen Balkon -- hier kann man die Seele gut baumeln lassen. Morgens und abends bimmeln die Glöckchen der Schafherden, ab und zu bellt ein Hund - ansonsten herrscht wunderbare Ruhe. Ringsum dösen Katzen in der Sonne, begrüßten uns jeden Tag beim Losfahren und Wiederkommen. Wir waren zu dritt, das hat gut gepasst. Für vier Leute ist es gewiss auch gut, aber das fünfte Bett steht neben der Eingangstür - das haben wir nur als "Garderobe" benutzt. Für Ausflüge ist man in alle Richtungen gut angebunden. Eine absolute Empfehlung!

Dejligt hus, gammelt men med en fantastisk terrasse og udsigt. Landsbyen Anopoli har en lille Taverne med et enkelt, simpelt menukort og har lukket mandag og tirsdag. Der findes ikke et supermarked i byen, er lukket for år tilbage. Byen har mange ubeboede huse og mange katte.Det er nødvendigt med bil, ingen bus.

Typisch griechisches Ferienhaus mit tollem Blick

Das typisch griechische Ferienhaus liegt sehr ruhig im kleinen Dorf Anopolis, nur 15 Minuten vom Flughafen entfernt, in einer engen Gasse. Im Haus war alles für einen Aufenthalt zum Wohlfühlen vorhanden. Die ehemalige Olivenölmühle ist sehr wertschätzend renoviert, allerdings sind die beiden Bäder und Küchengeräte schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Hier würde man sich eine Modernisierung wünschen, es tat dem Urlaubserlebnis aber keinen Abbruch. Drei schöne Balkons und ein wunderschöner Innenhof entschädigten uns. Leider sind wir uns etwas unsicher, ob wir mit zusätzlich15 pro Tag nicht eine zu hohe Übernachtungspauschale bezahlt haben. Wir haben zwar gelesen, dass diese seit 2024 in Griechenland eingeführt wurde, aber gestaffelt berechnet wird. In Ferienwohnungen fällt einen Gebührn zwischen 1,50 und 2,50 an, nur in 5*-Hotels beträgt die Gebühr 15. Wir haben zwar eine Quittung von Manolis, der uns sehr herzlich begrüßt hat, bekommen, fühlen uns aber mit der Summe nicht wohl. Nichtsdestotrotz ist die Unterkunft für die Erkundung des östlichen teils von Kreta sehr zu empfehlen!

super Urlaub

Der Aufenthalt in der Finca hat uns sehr zugesagt. Wir empfanden die Zeit in der Unterkunft als sehr erholsam. Von dort hatten wir es nicht weit zum Flughafen und unseren Ausflugsorten. In der Nähe gibt es tolle Restaurants und Supermärkte für die schnelle Verpflegung. Wir bedanken uns recht herzlich und würden die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen.

Die Villa Fabrica ist eine aussergewöhnlich schöne Ferienwohnung mitten in Dorf Anopoli. Wir wurden von Manolis herzlich empfangen, er hat uns Früchte, eine Flasche Wein und sogar eine Flasche Raki zum Empfang bereitgestellt. Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Es ist wunderschön sich im Aussenbereich, der direkt vom Wohnzimmer aus zu erreichen ist, aufzuhalten. Im Obergeschoss sind die Schlafzimmer mit einer herrlichen Terrasse mit schönem Ausblick auf das Kloster von Anopoli. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt wir würden mit Sicherheit wiederkommen. Einen grossen Dank an Manolis, er war jederzeit per Whatsapp zu erreichen und für uns da.

Herrlich

Wir waren vor 3 Jahren schon mal bei Manolis, und auch in diesem Jahr war es herrlich! Manolis begrüßt einen persönlich am Haus, gibt Tipps und ist ein sehr netter Gastgeber. Wir waren bestimmt nicht zum letzten mal dort.

Une note parfaite!

Un hôte attentionné, une maison chaleureuse, très bien équipée, confortable et joliment décorée, la terrasse avec vue sur les collines et le monastère, le calme, tout y est pour un séjour des plus agréables. Il n’y a pas beaucoup d’activités ni de commodités dans ce minuscule village, mais les villes de la côte sont facilement accessibles à 4km environ.

very nice house, facilities, service and location !

We had an excellent winter holiday in Villa Fabrica with our family. The cosy house is well-equipped, nicely located in Anopolis and the service provided by Evi and Manolis. To put it shortly, we definitely recommend to stay at Villa Fabrica if you are looking for a nice place to enjoy your holiday in Crete.

FABULEUX ENDROIT POUR SEJOUR AU CALME

VILLA FABRICA ,the old olive’s mill, est située en retrait de la côte, sur les hauteurs de Kokkini hani, dans le village d ' Anopoli, L' idéal pour découvrir la douceur de vivre crétoise ; les villageois sont très amicaux et souriants. La vue depuis les terrasses des chambres est superbe : monastère St. Jean, champs d'oliviers, communion parfaite avec la nature. En rez-de-jardin, la terrasse ombragée et fleurie est très accueillante pour les repas. Côté pratique, les chambres sont climatisées et le wifi est performant. Quatrième séjour dans cette maison et toujours le même enchantement. Merci à Manolis et à Evi pour la générosité de leur accueil .Ce sont des hôtes adorables qui mettent tout en oeuvre pour faire de votre séjour un moment inoubliable.

Tolles Haus !

Tolles Haus im kleinen Dorf. Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen von Manolis's Sohn. Später brachte uns Manolis in den nächsten Ort. Ein Auto ist ein "MUSS". Parken kann man an der Kirche auf dem "Dorfplatz". Durch kleine Gassen geht es dann zum Haus. Das Haus hat alles was man braucht (KÜHLSCHRANK, KLIMA UND TERASSE AM ABEND...) Einen kleinen Dorfladen gibt es auch, wo man das nötigstes kaufen kann (Brot und Wein). Vielen Dank für die Zeit dort.

Peaceful Greek Village

As a Greek-American mother of Cretan descent, i wanted my husband and four children (ages 16-5) to have the true 'Greek Village Experience' and yet enjoy sandy beaches, tavernas, and Knossos. This house couldn't have been more perfect for us. The village was peaceful and the locals kind and welcoming. Kokkini Chani, complete with supermarkets, sandy beaches, incredible tavernas was less than 10 minutes drive away (yes, you need a car.) The house itself feels like a traditional home with plenty of space, inside and out, and yet has been updated to include all the modern amenities that we have become accustomed to: full kitchen, a/c upstairs (downstairs a/c not needed as it is naturally cool), washing machine, etc. The owners Manolis and Evy were very kind and helpful. Whenever we needed them - they were there. Even when we were leaving and accidentally left one bag in the house, Manolis came to the rescue and opened up the house for us within ten minutes of our call...at 4am! The home was about 20 minute drive from Heraklion and about a little further from Knossos. The monastery of St. John the Theologian is very close but as of early July was only having services on Saturday evenings (vespers) and Sunday mornings. My only concern would be that the spiral staircase (like any spiral staircase) might not be a good idea for families with younger children (under 4.) We spent one week at this home in July 2017 and hopefully, God willing, we will visit again.

Fantastic!

Accommodations, view, cleanliness, beautiful location all beyond expectations . Perfect vacation Villa. Manolis and Evi were so helpful and the car rental they helped arrange was super helpful too! Will definitely return and highly recommend to other travelers.

LA MAISON DE VACANCES IDEALE !”

L'année a été difficile? Voici la meilleure façon de vous détendre: Prenez le premier avion pour Héraklion,louez une voiture et en route pour 13 kilomètres, jusqu'au petit village d'Anopolis : c 'est un endroit qui plaira à ceux qui apprécient de vivre loin du tumulte des stations balnéaires surpeuplées. Manolis, le propriétaire, vous accueillera avec un grand sourire. Avec Kalsatis , on adorable fille qui parle très bien français, ils vous guideront dans la visite de leur ancienne maison familiale qu'ils ont parfaitement restaurée et qui a gardé toute son âme crétoise. L'équipement est moderne et rien ne manque. Gros coup de coeur pour le petit jardin dans lequel les fleurs, et surtout le jasmin, embaument. La terrasse est également un endroit où il fait bon s'installer : vue magnifique sur monastère,collines ,champs d'oliviers, sans oublier le chant des cigales. C'est calme, c'est beau, c'est bon. Pour les visites et bonnes adresses, laissez vous guider par les bons conseils de Manolis
