Our cozy Sargent Mtn Yurt sleeps up to four guests and offers a unique blend of comfort and adventure. Yurts are circular, tent-like structures with a wood lattice frame and sturdy canvas exterior-an ancient design originating from the nomadic tribes of Asia. Today, modern yurts have become a popular vacation experience from coast to coast, offering a memorable alternative to traditional lodging.

Inside, you'll find a warm, inviting space thoughtfully stocked with all the essentials. The yurt features a comfortable queen bed and a queen-size sleeper sofa, making it ideal for couples, friends, or small families. The kitchenette is equipped with a ¾ refrigerator, apartment-size stove and oven, sink, and all necessary cookware and dishware for simple meal prep.

A full bathroom with a stand-up shower adds everyday comfort, while the efficient heat pump and air conditioning keep the space cozy year-round. All linens are provided for your convenience.

Whether you're exploring Acadia National Park, relaxing on Mount Desert Island, or simply looking to try something new, this yurt offers a peaceful and distinctive home base for your Maine adventure.

Clarence (my two-year-old lab mix) and I needed to celebrate the end of a long year/journey, surrounded by nature and near the water. I found Acadia yurts while looking for pet-friendly options in Acadia. I can't express how grateful I am to have found this place. I will definitely return! The yurt itself is heaven. Perfectly appointed with comfortable furniture (the bed was so comfortable it was difficult to leave), everything I'd need or want in the kitchen, a perfect bathroom with a great shower! It is private and yet part of a small community of yurts, so you don't feel you are alone in the woods or on top of a neighbor. The hosts were incredibly responsive and welcoming. It is immaculate, quiet, and if you want to pamper yourself a little, the wellness center offers services. So far, I have taken two yoga classes that I enjoyed very much. Every detail about this place is spot on. I do not want to leave. I cannot praise my experience here highly enough. Thank you, Karen and Aaron, for a wonderful two weeks in Maine!

Acadia Yurts was an incredible place to stay while visiting the national park! The yurt community is super cute and the check-in process was beyond easy. Aaron and Karen were lovely hosts. They provided clear directions to the property, and their check-in and check-out processes were simple and very reasonable. It's near enough to the park to be convenient without being right in the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor.Walking into our rented yurt, we were struck by the cleanliness and overwhelmingly homey feel. The decor is minimalist, but perfect for the space. It was hard to believe we were glamping! The skylight at night is everything! There was plenty of space for my husband, dog and I, and all the essentials were available. The sofa was very comfortable. The bed felt a bit firm for us, but that is very subjective. :) Overall, we were beyond happy with our stay and will definitely be back!

The Yurt was spotless, the host thought of everything a traveler might need. Little things like lots of hooks and hangers, and places to store things for the stay. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the host stayed in contact and was available to us if needed. The property was beautiful and peaceful.We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Great experience!

Acadia Yurts was beyond our expectations. We found it nice and quiet with terrific accommodations for us and our two pets. The location was convenient for each destination we chose thru the weekend. Would recommend & plan on coming back.

Absolutely Amazing Place!

Acadia Yurts was cozy, clean, quaint and provided a spacious Yurt for 2 adults and 2 dogs! The grounds are a perfect place for anyone looking to get away and stay in touch with nature. Karen and Aaron’s hospitality made our stay that much more enjoyable.

Perfect Accommodations for visiting Acadia and Bar Harbor

We stayed in the Sargent Mtn Yurt with our dog, Max. It was so spacious with all the comforts of home. It was easy to get to Acadia hiking trails and Bar Harbor. It was so peaceful to sleep under the yurt's dome skylight and awake to the sunrise. The hosts were in contact before and during our stay to make sure all of our needs were met. We hope to return with family one day soon!

Acadia Yurts

Quiet & peaceful- just what we needed after a busy day in and around Acadia Nat’l park. Enjoyed “all the comforts of home” in a yurt nestled in the woods. This was our second time staying here and it was as special as the first time.

Anfitrião: Karen Roper

Aaron is a Maine native. He was born and raised across the bridge in Trenton and grew up attending local Bar Harbor schools. He has worked in the restaurant industry for 20+ years beginning as a prep cook in high school then moving toward general manager. Aaron's favorite extracurricular activity is learning all he can about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As often as he can, he trains locally and loves sharing this passion with others.

Karen is a transplant. Originally from Chicago she made her way to Maine in 2009 and fell in love immediately. In Acadia she enjoys hiking, trail running, yoga, and long walks on the carriage roads. Karen has been teaching yoga locally for over 6 years and now brings her practice to the Wellness Center (located on site at Acadia Yurts). Karen is also a licensed massage therapist and offers services onsite (pending availability).

As a couple we have done quite a bit of traveling and through that we have narrowed down the particular way we like to travel. The biggest factor for us is having a furnished kitchen in order to prepare health minded foods to nourish our bodies and support all our outdoor activities. The idea for Acadia Yurts has been brewing for quite some time. Friends of ours live off the grid in a yurt and we greatly appreciate the rustic, romantic feel of the yurt but wanted some of the comforts of home; running water, heat, electricity. From there Acadia Yurts was born. We truly hope you enjoy our property and your time here as much as we do.
