First off, we want to apologize for the unsatisfactory conditions of the home that you experienced. At Dune Allen Realty, we spend every hour of every day ensuring that our homes are comfortable, clean, and provide amazing vacation memories for our guests. It’s what we live for— so when we miss the mark, it pains us greatly. We are so, so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. We do want to take a moment to remind you— and all of our guests— that if anything is ever sub-standard in any way, to please, PLEASE call us while you are here and let us know, so that we may rectify the situation. Our caring and friendly staff are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to take care of issues just like the ones you mention here. If we had heard from you, we would have sent a team over right away to make things right. We also want to take a moment to mention that this home is indeed located about 100 short steps from the beautiful Gulf of Mexico— a truly spectacular location. But older complexes like this one that are located so close to the shoreline, unfortunately, experience a tremendous amount of wear-and-tear from the saltwater and excessive humidity. So yes, we acknowledge that this building is a bit dated. But we assure you that we take our cleaning and sanitizing practices very seriously and— although dated— this home is cleaned and inspected regularly and thoroughly. Once again, we’re so sorry for the issues you experienced during your stay and we wish you all the best.

We are very surprised to read your review since you were immediately (that same evening) moved to another property when you called to report bugs. You suggested the bugs were fleas, but when inspected by an exterminator the next day, there were no bugs or fleas to be found in the property. The bug you photographed appeared to be a fruit fly, but again upon inspection the exterminator found no evidence of bugs or fruit flies. The property was a turn and the previous guest made no complaints or reports of any kind. Additionally, the property was not dirty. Indeed, the refrigerator handle was broken and the proper replacement was made - the handle had already been ordered prior to your arrival. The property owner has been contacted regarding minor updates that we have suggested, but the property is clean and bug free, and in fact a very popular vacation rental. We take the satisfaction of our guests very seriously and your concerns were addressed promptly when you made your complaint.
