This lovely 3 bedroom, 3 bath cottage sits beautifully in the tall pines, just off the west end of Scenic Highway 30A. Each bedroom has its own bath, and the kitchen is open and spacious with a large island for gathering the family for fish taco night. After dinner this open concept home is perfect for a fun game of charades, or movie night.

During the day, you’ll enjoy our amazing gulf coast with the beach being just over a mile away or check out Topsail Hill Preserve State Park to see true Florida cypress swamps. After spending the day hiking in the state park, or biking to the beach via the Timpoochee bike trail, you’ll love sitting on the large screen porch reminiscing about your day. There’s also a dining table for outdoor porch dining.

Mockingbird Cottage is also located near some incredible, locally owned, restaurants like Stinky’s Fish Camp only 1.3 miles away, Louis Louis 2.4 miles away, and if you prefer some classic southern, deep fried, delicious seafood, check out Elmo’s Grill where you’ll dine on rustic picnic tables. No worries if the kids spill their drinks here!

The perfect place for our family vacation

What a lovely house. Plenty of space, well laid out, room for all of us. On a quiet road and only a mile from the beach. We really loved it and enjoyed our stay.

Cozy and Clean

Loved staying at this property. The house was really beautiful and I loved all of the bird decorations. Also liked watching for bluebirds in the back/side yard! We enjoyed our morning bike rides to the beach and through the neighborhoods and a short drive to our favorite beach.

Wonderful house and peaceful surroundings!

We absolutely loved this place! We've been coming to the area for 11 years and it's the best place we've stayed. The house is clean, spacious, beds are very comfortable. The location is great...right next to Topsail State Park. We rented bikes and went all the way to Seaside! Loved rocking on the front porch and only hearing frogs & birds. Also enjoyed the boardwalk at the end of the street with the beautiful Cypress swamp. We hope to be back!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful house with us!!

Perfect!

We were so pleased with this beautiful property. There were 2 couples and a teen so the layout was perfectly accommodating and it was great to have 3 bathrooms. This home is just off 30A but yet very quiet. Close to Walmart and close to several beaches. The kitchen is spacious and had everything we needed. The washer/dryer was nice to freshen up our towels and beach towels. We wished we could have tried all the restaurants nearby but ran out of time! We enjoyed Stinky’s and also Shunk Galley Oyster Bar. We love this area and hope to return soon! We would definitely stay at Mockingbird Cottage again!

Great place to get away from it all!

My son and I stayed in this home over Memorial Day weekend. It was a last minute trip and we had a hard time finding a place. Fortunately, we were able to book this house. It turned out to be a little gem. While it may not be right on the beach it is not far from the public beaches. It is also right beside Topsail State Park where we spent our beach time. Beautiful beach there by the way. The house was decorated nicely and provided everything we needed. It would be perfect for a weeks stay. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was the yard was in need of some care. Otherwise, I recommend this house.

Quiet and relaxing yet close to everything!

This wonderful Florida cottage was perfect for a relaxing and fun-filled family vacation! It was clean, comfortable and well-stocked with everything we needed. Close proximity to the ocean was great, and we enjoyed the campfires at night. Would definitely return to this fine property.

Wonderful Getaway

Staying at the Mockingbird Cottage was truly memorable. The isolation and calmness of the location made our getaway just as imagined. The .6 miles away from Top Sail State Park was the icing o the cake!

Lovely, well-appointed cottage

We had a great stay in Mockingbird Cottage. The house is beautiful, 3 nice bedrooms, each with its own bath, well-appointed kitchen, nice living room, indoor and outdoor dining options. We rented bikes and rode in the 30A bike trail all along the beach route, as well as to nearby Topsail Nature Preserve, with trails that lead to the beach. Nice boardwalk at the end of the street that crosses through a natural swamp area. Screen porch table was understandably dirty and we were disappointed that there were no cleaning supplies … even a container of disinfectant wipes would be helpful. Also no extra rolls of toilet paper - we were told only one was provided per bathroom and so had to purchase on our own. It would be a great benefit if access to the adjacent community could be provided as well, for the pool and tennis courts. All in all, though, a great property. Definitely recommend.

Awesome Beach cottage

We had an awesome vacation with family!!! Went to Topsail Hill Preserve State park several days! Gorgeous beach and a couple mins away from property. Close proximity to restaurants and shopping! Wonderful vacation!!!

Quiet and Relaxing

The cottage is well equipped, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. The location is tucked back in the trees, very quiet (except for some construction nearby but that’s common in a lot of vacation areas) and very private. We saw so many different kinds of birds and little lizards - they’re literally everywhere. In the evenings, we would often see several small deer. But still just a short drive to a Publix, Walmart, and numerous restaurants. If you’re tired of the crowded condos in Destin, renting this cottage is the way to go.

Overall the house was very nice, definitely some cleaning and maintenance oversights (i.e., hairball on floor in master bed, a few of the lights out in bathrooms, laundry still in the dryer) but the house itself is beautiful and easy to find, and very close to many beaches/state parks.

Quiet, Private, and Comfortable On 30A

This cottage is a wonderful find on the western end of 30A and was perfect for our family of five. We loved the comfortable beds, screened in porch, and quiet privacy of a small neighborhood. This place is perfect for those who don’t want to be on the beach or in traffic, yet have such easy access to the beach, restaurants, other outdoor activities. We loved being right around the corner from Topsail State Preserve where I was able to enjoy morning runs on quiet, wooded paths leading to both a beach and a freshwater lake. The cottage itself was perfect for us. Very clean, large kitchen, and perfect space for the family to hang out in between beach activities. We can’t wait to go back!

Very Peaceful and private

We truly love this location.Our stay was perfect the home was very clean. The only little thing was we wanted to watch our apple tv and the wifi was suspect at times. We highly recommend this property and hope we can stay again next year!!!

Beach was not quite as-close as we are used to, but the quiet location made up for it. We spent a lot of time on the screened porch. Beach a short bike ride away. Beautifully decorated. On the quiet end of 30A. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
