Villa Helene is a warm and welcoming Belle Époque villa offering panoramic sea views over Villefranche-sur-Mer and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.
The property features a large and beautifully maintained private garden with decorative shrubs and seasonal flowers, as well as several sunny terraces. The villa enjoys sunlight throughout the day and offers a high level of privacy. Private parking is available on the property.

The garden has been redesigned and includes a swimming pool measuring 4.5 x 8 meters, surrounded by greenery and charming outdoor areas.

The house was fully renovated in 2016 and has been carefully maintained since. It retains its original charm, with elegant architectural details and warm, inviting interior colors. The beds are comfortable and of good quality to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

The villa is arranged over two guest-accessible floors:

Main floor: original entrance hall with marble staircase from 1925, access to the separate studio, kitchen and living room.

Top floor: four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The fourth bedroom is approx. 4.5 square meters and contains a single bed. It is accessed through Bedroom 3.

The separate studio includes an additional bedroom and bathroom, offering extra privacy for guests.

Additional cleaning can be arranged during your stay.

The villa has air conditioning in all bedrooms.

Beautiful Views

This villa was perfect for our two families of four. The kids enjoyed the pool and the adults enjoyed relaxing and enjoying the views. It was quiet and felt safe. The walk down the stairs to town and to the train station wasn’t bad. Sometimes we would Uber back up to Villa because it’s quite a workout. I would stay again any time!

Beautiful place

This villa is beautiful, peaceful, and has amazing views. We really loved staying here. The property feels very safe being fully gated and the pool is lovely. The street is very quiet and there is a grocery store you can walk to in about 7 mins. There is a/c in the downstairs bedroom and fans in the other bedrooms. It is in a quiet area on the hill so you either need a car or need to get comfortable with the bus system (or pay very high Uber prices). The bedding was high quality and there were plenty of towels provided.

A gem in Villefrance Sur Mer

Our family (6 of us), rented this house for the Christmas holiday in December 2018. We were in awe from the time we arrived. The views to the Mediterranean are breathtaking - with wonderful sunrises each morning. The house is easily accessible to Nice, Monaco and other places on the Cote d'Azur. Prior to arriving I corresponded with Jon (the owner) and Marianne (the house manager) and both quickly responded to my questions. I highly recommend this house if you are considering a stay in the Nice area.

Stunning views and lots of room

We stayed for 5 weeks in January and February. For 2, the house was overly grand. We chose it for the view and in off season it was fantastic.The weather was too cool to enjoy the pool but we did get to sit outside for a few lunches. Mostly, we just enjoyed the view of the sea from most every window.The house was adequately equipped but we ended up adding a few essentials for our needs like a teapot, spatulas, whisk, and a few other items to make our stay more comfortable. These we easily found at Ikea in Nice.There is also a well equipped market 10 minutes on foot downhill (maybe 15 back with a bag or 2) or 5 minutes driving.Walking to Nice or Villefranche harbor is possible, though the walk back will involve a lot of uphill and some stairs depending on route. LIke many others, we did Uber back when needed.The house is close to a busy road and we could see how it could be noisy with the windows open. Not much of a concern for us, and nothing we couldn't drown out with white noise app on our phones.All in all, a wonderful house with a few quirks that could easily suit a large family or a few friends.

Too hot with plenty of mosquitoes

On the positive side, the property is situated in a great location, overlooking the sea. The area is calm and convenient. There is space for 2 cars in the property, and additional space is available nearby. However, there is air conditioning in only one bedroom, a limitation that was not indicated in the advertisement when we booked. We had 30°C inside the house at midnight, and 29°C at 6 a.m., which made it very difficult to sleep. As a matter of fact, we had to open all windows to have a bit of air circulating and avoid the temperature to raise even higher. Indeed, this lack of sleep forced us to find another house available upon short notice in the high season, thus interrupting our stay... On top of that, the garden was full of mosquitoes, and obviously they came into the house. We tried mosquito repellent spray on the skin as well as repellent candles, but nothing seemed to be effective and we suffered numerous bites every day, especially in the early morning, evening, and during sleep. The swimming pool is small and there probably was an issue with the chemicals used because the water looked cloudy and was acid. One shall perhaps add that the furniture does not look like the photos of the advertisement. Whereas the advertisement shows stylish interior, the house was downgraded with modern and disparate low-end pieces. Towels were old and smelly, and there was something on the beds that provoked itching. We had to purchase new towels and bedsheets.

We truly apologize for the situation regarding AC. On VRBO, which is our main page for our villa, you will find that there is listed AC in one of the bedrooms and fans in the others. Unfortunately this information is not visible on the partner sites of VRBO like Abritel, FeWo-direkt etc. This is a very unfortunate situation that I am handling with VRBO right now My responsibile contact person in Villefranche were on the phone with me several times during your stay and she told me she didn`t get any replies on subjects you brought to her attention. We have our cleaning lady living close by and we proposed to do additional cleaning if necessary, but didn`t receive any answer. When it comes to the heat, we suggested that the shutters in front of the windows could be closed during daytime to keep it cooler at night, but our gardner sent me pictures with the shutters open during daytime which makes it warmer then necessary. Our poolman works Tuesdays and Fridays. He always send pictures after his visit and I didn`t see any pictures that indicate our pool in the condition you described We just recently installed new kitchen togheter with new inventory which our frequent visitors have appreciated after visiting us again with the new interior I wish you had contacted us about towels and bedlinen during your stay as this would have been taken care of right away. This problem was never communicated Would also like to mention that we found a broken sunbed after your departure

Haus mit Charme

Das renovierte Haus mit dem Charme einer alten Villa befindet sich in einem gepflegten Garten mit wunderbarer Aussicht. Es befindet sich eigentlich in einer ruhigen Umgebung, aber nachts hört man in den vorderen Schlafzimmern bei geöffnetem Fenster die Autos von der Straße, die unterhalb des Grundstücks vorbeiführt. Äußerst störend sind die Geräusche der außen am Haus angebrachten Wärmepumpe, die ins Haus übertragen werden. Das ständige, deutlich vernehmbare Brummen der Wärmepumpe nervt. Die Wärmepumpe sollte auf einen Dämpfungssockel gesetzt werden.

Thank you for your review after your stay. The villa is not located on the country side and Villefranche is a area that is quiet compared to other cities on the Riviera. The road in front of the house is approx. 150 meters from the villa and we have not had any complaints from other guest about noise from traffic so sorry to hear that this caused you problems. The heat pump is on the outside of the villa and is mounted according to current regulations in France. We have been owners of the villa since 2015 and have never had any previous guests complaining about noise from the outside part of the heat pump. It is working like all other heating systems mounted in Europe

Amazing and relaxing

The property sits on the hill, but easily accessible to both Villefranche and Nice, we enjoyed both! The view is amazing and perfect for a morning coffee overlooking the Mediterranean. We were a group of 7 friends and had a great time here!

Une semaine de vacances en octobre, La maison est idéalement placée, aux portes de nice ( 5mm, 1à minutes du port de la promenade des anglais ), la vue géniale. Nous avons pu profiter de l'extérieur ( jardin assez grand),grace à un temps assez généreux. Le confort est suffisant, un peu daté mais c'est une histoire de gout; Sincèrement le rapport qualité prix est idéal.Je remercie mon hote de nous offrir la possibilité de profiter de ce secteur. An amazing villa Belle Epoque style, fully fitted, in excell. condit. and with a spectac. view.

The whole family (5 adults and 3 juniors) spent a whole week in this spectacular villa, Belle Epoque style, in the beginning of October 2018. The house is modernized and looks very nice both inside and outside, and is situated at the top of a hill with a stunning view of the Mediterranean, also overlooking the picturesque village of Villefranche. There are stairs from the house to the seaside, and the water there was warm and clear. Many places to eat in Villefranche, lunch and dinners, and many more to be found in nearby villages and certainly also in Nice and Monte Carlo, both situated in the vicinity. Very nice owners of the house, and a charming and helpful representative of the owner close at hand. We will strongly recommend this place to other families!

The best of the best!

Our stay here was spectacular; the view even more so! The panorama includes the 16tth century Fort du Mont Alban looming to the south and west with Nice visible beyond, along with the fabulous harbor to the south and St Jean Cap Ferrat to the east. Our host was extremely accommodating and quick to answer requests, even recommending local attractions (for a special treat, try La Belle Etoile in the Old Town of Villefranche-sur-mer down near the harbour!).The person providing on-site support was equally so. The villa is lovely, clean and quite pleasant. It was well-equipped. The beds were very comfortable. Ours was a group of six adults. We fit easily with room to spare. It is easily accessible, with the Moyenne Corniche (Nice to the west; Monaco to the east) a five minute walk away. Bus transit to/from Nice was easy, convenient and inexpensive. In short, we loved our time at this lovely villa and hope we may experience it again one day!

Fantastic holiday!

Villa Helene is truly a beautiful property. The villa offers a lot of charm both inside and outside. Combined with beautiful seaview and a big garden this villa is one of my favourite places. The contact with the owner was easy, and he replied quickly to all my questions. Absolutely a place to recommend if you love a relaxing atmosphere, but still want to be close to Nice and surrounding areas.

Sweet spot

This was the perfect place for us to stay. The house is a beautiful refurbished old villa on a small hill overlooking beautiful Villefrance-Sur-Mer. Needless to say, the Villa has spectacular sea views, but it also has the perfect secluded feel with a very homey vibe to it. It is easy to walk down to Villefranche harbour, or to Nice, or get on the train to Monaco (which takes about 15 minutes). We were three collegues there for a work-project, so we actually spent a lot of time in the house with the doors to the terrace overlooking the ocean wide open at all times (not a bad diversion from the most rainy part of Norway, where we normally do our projects). But we also found time to enjoy the surronding local restaurants, with a couple of trips to Monaco to boot. Highly recommendable!

La villa est très agréable à vivre pour 8 personnes. La pièce à vivre est baignée de lumière et donne sur la terrasse, la vue sur la baie de Villefranche et la presqu’île de St Jean Cap Ferrat est magnifique. La disposition des chambres et SDB permet une bonne indépendance ; le studio en RDC est totalement indépendant, un plus pour les parents par exemple. Au total une villa très agréable dans un quartier résidentiel et tout près de Nice ; le propriétaire est sympathique et à l’écoute. Nous recommandons.

Lovley charming house!

This is really a phantastic villa in Villefranc Sur Mer

We are a family with this children and stayed for one week in october 2017 in this villa. It is really a beautiful belle epoque villa with phantastic view on the sea. The villa is very tastefully renovated. We enjoyed the time there very much.To emphasize are the good parking possibilities in front of the house, which is not natural in this area. Jon was extremely friendly, helpful and generous. We would be glad if we could revisite this phantastic villa in the next year. Rainer

Villefranche is a vey authentic village with a lot of charm and nice surroundings. Yet it is central as Nice, Monaco, Cannes etc is not far away. Our house is in a quiet neighbor hood with nice neighbors and beautiful view over the bay of Villefranche and St. Jean Cap Ferrat

The villa has a large garden with total privacy as there is no insight from neighbors. There is several terraces / small spots around the house to enoy a book or a glas of wine. The villa is a Belle epoque villa from 1925 which offer a lot of charm.
