This charming house, 15 minutes from Bordeaux, will offer a moment of calm and relaxation for holiday unique and unforgettable. With its four bedrooms, the Moulin de Canteloup can accommodate 8-10 people, it is air conditioned and surrounded by a park of more than one hectare TV with alarm monitoring.
For your convenience, you will find a swimming pool secured (alarm) with a large terrace, two lounges and garden chairs. A kitchen (equipped with boards, gas grill, fireplace grills for your vine shoots) will allow you to lunch by the pool. For the more energetic a tennis court and a fitness room are available. For your comfort you can enjoy the steam room, spa or sauna. An office-library with a computer, printer, copier, fax, internet and unlimited phone, you can keep in contact with the outside world

Perfect for a mixed generation family get together.

Smart, spacious, comfortable, lovely pool and excellent tennis court. 4 locations for meals for all 10 of us. Well equipped kitchen with plentiful crockery and utensils. No TV and Wi-Fi very flaky. Good communication with owner.

Fabulous Stay!

Our group of 3 families including adult children gathered for a mid-week wedding but extended our stay to enjoy the region. We could not have been happier the property, the facilities, the amenities and the host/service. We had unfortunately a broken water valve when we arrived but it was repaired the following two days after a part arrived. They were extremely responsive and generous provided 2 bottles of wine for hardship. Amazing! The bikes were a pure delight and the spa was an nightly gathering to relax and laugh and talk about the day. Thankyou for making our trip so magical!!!

Extraordinaire Moulin

A seamless process to use a fabulous property. This property is better than the pictures or the description. We were a group of 10 staying the second week of September. The weather was beautiful and the pool was perfect. The bikes are serviceable but not to reliable. A great easy ride to Bordeaux. Jeremy was punctual and reliable. We would have no hesitation to recommend this property.

Let down by VRBO

The VRBO app and website was not functioning for weeks before our arrival. I kept getting messages from VRBO that they "were working on it". However, I never did receive check-in instructions from them. The property itself was great, especially the outside facilities. The Master Bedroom needs a fan for summer guests as the air-condtioning is weak upstairs. It also has wooden crates as bedside tables. We had to buy many items that we expected to be supplied (toiletries, kitchen & laundry materials etc). That said, a two-week stay for family & friends was wonderful. The pool & outside kitchen were especially popular and everyone had a good time. The bikes for the nearby cycling path were also used for leisure as well as to get to local shops. It was easy to drive into Bordeaux (where there are many restaurants and markets). You could also take a tram. We also visited St Emilion, which is a 45 minute drive and recommended.

Très bon séjour

De belles vacances dans une superbe maison très bien équipée et entretenue ! Propriétaire à l'ecoute. Juste dommage de ne récupérer la maison qu'à 16h30 le samedi pour devoir la rendre au plus tard à 10h le samedi suivant (la semaine devient 6 jours...)

We loved our stay and we will hopefully be back again very soon.

The house excelled our expectations. We were a group of 11 and there was always so much to do, whether it was lying by the pool, going on a bike ride, playing table tennis, being energetic in the gym, relaxing in the sauna/steam room/hot tub or doing the traditional French game of boule...etc.....etc... My daughter and her friends cycled into Bordeaux, which they loved. This was very safe as there were bike paths all the way there. The outdoor kitchen was a great evening gathering point, with the choice of 3 methods of cooking . Local shops and bakery were 10 minutes cycle ride away or 5 mins by car. We also visited Arcachon, which was stunning and would highly recommend. There are also plenty of vineyards to visit locally and we enjoyed going wine tasting. All the rooms in the house have air conditioning, apart from the triple room, but my daughter and friends, didn't find it too hot. My only sad thing, is that a week went too quickly.

Had a fantastic stay! Property was wonderful, with so many amenities....tennis, bikes, table tennis, gym, sauna, steam room....it had it all. Jeremy made the process so simple and was very helpful throughout. Thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful home, well presented with every facility

We booked "Le Moulin" for a week to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary with our two children, their spouses and our four grandchildren. The youngest child was three years of age and the eldest adult was in their mid seventies. The property had something for everyone in our family. So much so that we were happy to spend most of our time there. It is situated in beautiful quiet countryside about 15 Kilometres from Bordeaux and 40 minutes from the airport. The house is set in extensive grounds which are well landscaped and immaculately maintained.The website details the extensive features. and there will be few properties offering so much. The owner, Jeremy, was very efficient and considerate so that the booking process and arrangements prior to our visit were easy and reassuring. On the final day Jeremy asked had we suggestions to improve the improve the property. We had none - it was perfect!

Bordeaux heaven

This property is superb it was everything we expected and more,Jeremy and his staff were so welcoming and helpful. The facilities are excellent which ensures a fantastic holiday. The adjacent cycle path was a great addition to the holiday and the standard of cycles provided by Jeremy were to a high standard and the countryside on the cycle route was a sight to behold. All the facilities provided were to a very high standard including the swimming pool and BBQ which are a must for a family holiday. Finally on behalf of all the family many thanks for a fantastic holiday and we will be back.

Absolutely top! No wonder all 24 comments below give 5 stars!! We were 6 adults and 4 children having “the best vacation ever”. More than you could ever wish were there; 18 bikes, 90 + books in the kitchen regarding cooking, 3 table areas, 3 fridges.......... Thank you very much, Jeremy from the Swedish family

Perfection just outside of Bordeaux

The moulin de cantaloupe was everything we could have asked for and more. The photos in the listing didn’t even come close to doing it justice! The property was immaculate and very well prepared with every detail (down to a stroller, crib and toys for our one year old. The outdoor kitchen was an incredible setting for our dinners each evening, and the spa and pool made for a perfect relaxation space. The bikes and biking trails were wonderful for kids and adults alike. The train station was less than 30 minutes away and the highways were well accessible as well. My family is already planning a return visit!

Everything in one stop.... no need to leave!

The property was fantastic, it had everything you needed to have a home from home stay. We used the tennis court everyday and swimming pool, I highly recommend a stay, we will be back!

A true paradise!!

We were 4 couples who love traveling together. This was the best place we’ve ever stayed!! We had just spent a week on a canal boat and Moulin de Canteloup was a slice of heaven. We biked, swam, cooked, played tennis; we took advantage of all there was to offer. The house is so comfortable and expansive so there was plenty of space to spread out. We ate outside every evening by the pool— it was just perfect!!! Jeremy is delightful and we didn’t need to bother him a bit because everything is so well layed out and beautifully maintained. We will hope to return!! Merci beaucoup!!!

Great House with Top Facilities

The house is fantastic with great facilities - we stay in France frequently and it is by far the best equipped we have visited . Jeremy was really helpful with local information and nothing was too much trouble. Good location for visiting some great vineyards of France and the coast but the house is so good you don't really want to leave! I am sure we will return.

Fantastic!

Before booking we of course had a lot of questions. Every time we asked something via the mail the response was very friendly and always correct. Because of this experience we felt more comfortable choosing this location. Then we arrived and everything was splendid. The house and surroundings were very clean indeed, everything functioned nothing broken. The swimming pool had several very good protections so the adults were warned in time if a child would get into the water without guidance. We all loved the Turkisch steam bath (hammam), the sauna, the huge whirlpool, the table tennis and so on. The rooms were very comfortable with very good en suite douche/toilet ( 2 were not en suite, but still very adequate). The tennis court was in a very good condition as were the balls and the rackets that were provided. It was very surprising to find about twenty bicycles available, all very good functioning; helmets were also provided. 2 refrigerators, 2 washing machines, 2 dryers; all in outstanding condition. The kitchen and dining place outside, there are such a lot of things to mention…….. During night and day it was a very calm site. Nearby is a cycle track leading direct to the centre of Bordeaux only 12 km away. In the library one can find documentation about everything in the surroundings. Films and a PC were available. Seating in and outside: very well furnished. We, 8 adults and two little children had really a great, great time, also because of the very friendly and domestic help!

Superbe séjour

Nous avons passé une semaine formidable au Moulin de Canteloup. La maison est parfaitement entretenue et aménagée avec beaucoup de goût. L'accueil est excellent. Nous avons tellement apprécié notre séjour que nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir.

A great place!

Moulin de Canteloup is a place to have a nice secluded time to rest and enjoy the french countryside. It has all the facilities that we (3 families) needed for our fortnight stay. The owners are the upmost accomodating and we have spend two holidays (2013/15) at the place. A rental car might be a wise choice to require the necesseties but there are bicycles wich we frequently used as an welcome addition. A nice nearby town and several wine castles are worth the visit. Recommended by us norwegian tourists. K Joakim T

Un séjour inoubliable!!

Le séjour passé au Moulin restera pour toujours dans nos mémoires! Nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse! Les équipements de la maison sont d'excellentes qualités, les différents grill dans la cuisine extérieure permettent de cuisiner tous les poissons, les viandes, légumes etc. Le piscine ainsi que le terrain de tennis nous ont fait passer de superbes moments!! Le jacuzzi, sauna, hamam sont dignes d'un hôtel de luxe, et permettent de se relaxer après une journée pleine d'activités! La proximité d'un centre commercial (10min en voiture) est parfaite pour permettre de faire des courses régulièrement! Une maison que je recommande à tout type de clients, familles, amis, vous y passerez un super moment!! Nous reviendrons, merci!
