Villa Branca do Castelo is situated on the slope of Sesimbra Castle totally renovated in 2016 with large saltwater pool (natural chlorine), garden and surrounding trees creating a space with total privacy and intimacy for groups of families, children and friends.
It has spacious accommodation with excellent natural light with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms for 10 people. Elegant dƩcor with garden and castle views.
It has large terrace by the pool with sun loungers for 10 people to relax in complete privacy and panoramic views.
Terrace with outdoor furniture for outdoor dining. BBQ with all the grill equipment.
It has a large fully equipped kitchen with all cooking equipment and condiments for meal preparation.
Within walking distance (5 minutes walking) we find:
Cafe, Restaurants, Supermarkets, Pharmacy and Banks in the vicinity.
Easy access to all beaches: Vila de Sesimbra, Meco, Lagoa de Albufeira, Portinho da ArrƔbida, Ribeiro do Cavalo.

Beautiful Villa

Jose met us on arrival and sat down with us providing personal recommendations for things to do in the area and restaurants. We loved the villa, and only wish we our visit could have been during the warmer months when spending time in the lovely pool would be a must rather than early January when we stayed. We enjoyed visiting the village of Sesimbra and the Castle of Sesimbra. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to stay again in the future.

Amazing property

Such a beautiful home with all the space and amenities you could possibly need. The spacious kitchen and gorgeous pool area were our favorites. The owner, Jose, was friendly, responsive and helpful. Short walk to many cafes and mini-markets. Great hike out to the castle. We hiked down to the beach, which was clean and beautiful. Many shops and restaurants. We couldn't handle a hike back up but luckily only a short Uber ride to the villa. Would highly recommend this property to any family or group.

Wonderful Villa and a Fantastic Host

JosƩ was a fantastic host, we were welcomed with delicious pasteis de nata, crackers, cheese and wine upon arrival. He would pop in every couple of days to clean the pool and would always stop for a chat if we were around. The villa itself is beautiful with a fantastic view of the Castelo de Sesimbra, which was lit up at night. Very spacious and perfect for our two families of 10 people. The pool was larger than expected and the kids (and grown ups!) loved it, even going for an evening swim with the pool lights on! Kitchen was well equipped, we did a lot of cooking on the bbq too. Plenty of space to eat inside or out, beds were very comfortable and air conditioning throughout. The villa had a gated entrance which made us feel more secure. There is a great patisserie a couple of minutes walk from the villa, ideal for breakfast and other traditional treats! It is downhill to get into Sesimbra, so we didn't walk it due to the heat! Parking can be a nightmare so need to get there early. We would highly recommend Villa Branca do Castelo.

Family reunion in Portugal

Villa Branca was fabulous for our family get together. Close proximity to the delightful seaside town of Sesimbra, just opposite a wonderful Moorish castle, with a great non-chlorinated pool and adjacent BBQ area. Jose was a good source for local bakery/butcher/fish market, as well as restaurant recommendations. If you want to get away from the tourist centers and enjoy a tranquil oasis with a larger group, this may be a worthwhile place to hang your hats for a while.

Wonderful stay!

We had a magical week at Castelo Branco. JosƩ was so kind and welcoming. He gave some wonderful local recommendations for a dolphin tour and some great local restaurants. We were a group of 10 (6 adults and kids aged 3-11). The house was spacious and perfect for our group. The kids played in the pool for hours and we grilled every night. Easy drive to supermarkets and to the beach. Thank you so much for a great holiday!

Beautiful villa and very friendly and helpful owner, Jose.

This house is perfect for a family holiday. We were all adults but noticed lots of features which would make it child friendly, e.g. pool toys. The pool area is outstanding, private with BBQ area. You can walk into town in 30 mins. but maybe renting a car would be advised. Thanks so much to Jose!

Great holiday in a lovely villa

I booked the villa for a birthday celebration with friends, the villa was ideal with plenty of room inside and outside the property. Jose the owner was very helpful and gave us some very useful information about restaurants and places to visit. The lovely goodies that he provided when we arrived were very welcome. Beautiful Villa

The Villa was absolutely amazing, better than the pictures! We had a group of 7 adults and 3 kids. Everyone had enough space and the kitchen was well equipped with plenty of tablewares for everyone. The outside area had a large dining table and the pool area was everyone's favourite! Eventhough the pool was deep, kids loved it. We had two cars so it was easy to go to bigger supermarket's that could be found within few kilometres. Also the restautants and the beach are close with the car. The castle in the hill is really near, only five minutes walk and has a view all the way to Lisbon and off course Sesimbra and the sea. The Villa was a perfect choice for us and Jose was super nice host and helped with every question. Really recommed this place!

Great Host

We have been renting holiday houses all over Europe for 15 years but Jose is definitely the best host we have met during this years. The property is as described on the website and work perfectly for 9 people. You can reach Sesimbra in 15 min walk, downhill, but we recommend taxi or Uber back (5 Euro). Plenty of good restaurants, but stick to the fish, thatā€™s on a high level.

Excellent holiday house!

We stayed 10 days at Vila branco do Castelo- 2 families (4 grown-ups and 5 children). The house is better than the pictures show, and the pool is larger (not often to be that positively surprised). The house is situated in a good walking distanse to the Sesimbra beaches, and the bakery is only 2 minutes walking from the house. Jose is helpful, kind and an excellent host! We got a lot of good advizes on where to go and what to do. We will definetly recommend this hoilday house- it has everything!!

Brilliant holiday !

The property is absolutely lovely, every bit as nice as the pictures suggest. We wanted a peaceful and relaxing holiday and this was the perfect place for it. The backdrop of the castle made it particularly picturesque and proximity to the beaches and national park only a few miles away all made for a lovely experience. Jose, our host could not have been more helpful, from meeting us and providing food and wine on arrival to top tips on local restaurants and where to sight see, he was a star ! Highly highly recommended !

Very nice, clean and well equipped house.

Very nice, open space, comfortable house equipped with everything you might need. Beautiful garden and pool. Very good location to explore everything around, still in a quiet and cozy environment. The service provided by the owner was excellent. We enjoyed a lot our stay there.

Delightful villa with great host

We stayed for a week in late September, and found the villa perfect for our needs. Our very helpful host, Jose, provided every amenity and even lots of local produce to welcome us. The villa has wonderfully comfortable beds and lovely clean bathrooms. The pool is superb and very clean and there are enough loungers for everyone. A toilet and the washing machine are on the same level, with a place to dry clothes etc. The barbeque area is great, and there was enough charcoal for the first night - we cooked outside a lot. The villa is near enough to Sesimbra town to walk if necessary, and also within walking distance of the castle - a superb spot to enjoy wide views of the whole area (including the villa!)There is a handy and excellent cafe and pastelaria at the top of the road for bread, croissants and of course, the best Portuguese custard tarts! All in all, it is a brilliant place to stay. As we were attending a local wedding, only some of us got the chance to go surfing further up the coast, and we didn't have time to try out the diving or the kayaking, both of which are on offer in Sesimbra. It's also close enough to Lisboa to take a day trip and explore. We'll have to come back - and will be happy to stay at this lovely villa again. Thanks, Jose.
