Situated on a working beef farm in a quiet lane and with eco friendly underfloor heating, large comfortable open plan living/dining with wood burning stove and fully equipped kitchen area, two large bedrooms (one double and one twin), walk-in shower and full bath. Cot/highchair provided on request. Separate fully equipped utility room. Living area opens directly on to patio with views of open fields and rolling countryside. Plenty of outdoor space for children to play. Up to two small well behaved dogs welcome. Lots of walks directly from the property on quiet lanes, tracks and paths. Local maps and advice on walks provided on request. Wifi, TV/DVD.

Local village of Horsley within 15 minutes walk with great family friendly award winning pub (withpop-up food and music nights) and community run village shop. Lovely little market town of Nailsworth easily accessible by walking (20 mins) or offers free parking with lots of interesting independent shops and cafes/restaurants and tourist information. Easy access to all Cotswolds attractions, Cirencester 30 minute drive, Cheltenham 40 minutes, Bath 40 minutes. Local farmers markets in Nailsworth (monthly) and Stroud (weekly).

The place was idyllic and quiet and a perfect getaway. Close enough to two lovely towns to walk which was fantastic. The hosts were welcoming and had a ton of really great details for us and our visit.

Brian and jeannie are excellent hosts the swallows rest is amazing accommodation keep to a very high standard the kitchen is well equipped and the property was absolutely spotless we stayed there for a rcm metal detecting rally that wr was attending in Cirencester is a beautiful peaceful place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of towns and traffic and and I can't recommend this place enough we will deffo be returning to see if we can find more treasures also the cakes were banging

4 night stay, 2 adults plus a dog, we found the accommodation very spacious, very well equipped, clean and comfortable.The covered porch and utility area was perfect for dirty shoes, drying coats/boots etc.Having the adjacent grass field proved perfect for the dog.Located just a 10/15 minute walk from the town centre, it is a steep walk back up the hill.Plenty of footpaths and lanes to explore, the village of Horsley has the Hog pub, which was nice to visit and only 15 minutes walk away.Would highly recommended staying here if walking and exploring the countryside is your thing.

We had the best week at Swallows Rest. Everything is so well thought through — there are so many small details that make the whole stay feel comfortable, right down to things you don't even realise you needed until you're there. The property was exceptionally clean throughout, and the welcome essentials were a lovely touch that made settling in so easy.The host couldn't have been more accommodating, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We'd recommend Swallows Rest in a heartbeat and would love to come back.

Jeannie and Brian were extremely welcoming, the amenities and amount of things they have in their place made our stay so comfortable, the place is more spacious than it looks as well! Would definitely stay here again or recommend to anybody looking to stay in that part of the Cotswolds

Spotlessly clean, extremely well furnished and equipped. The property offers a fenced area to the front for parking but with sufficient space for children to play safely and there are beautiful views to enjoy very close to the property.The property enjoys the benefit of under floor heating which can be augmented with an impressive wood burner in the sitting room area.Strongly reccomended.

We just spent our second Christmas at Swallows Rest, and it was absolutely perfect. The cottage is cozy, spotless, and set in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds. It has everything you need for a relaxing festive break. We can't recommend it enough and will definitely be back!

Restful weekend

We had a wonderfully peaceful weekend, the lodged is beautiful, fully equipped and immaculately clean. Shops are close by to pick up essentials and an easy drive to visit many local villages in the Cotswolds, we will definitely return!

Fabulous stay!

We had a lovely stay here this week. The barn is really well equipped, comfy and clean. The hosts were there to greet us on arrival and explained everything we needed to know including surrounding walks and play areas. I would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

Anfitrião: Jeannie Bennett

Brian and Jeannie run the farm and holiday let. Brian has been farming all his life and moved to Horsley as a child and to our current farm in the late 1970s. He originally had a milking herd, but is now semi-retired and runs a small beef herd. Jeannie is also from the Stroud Valleys and enjoys the outdoor life, mainly looking after the smaller animals on the farm. She is a keen walker and previously worked with special needs students in a local secondary school.

Swallows Rest is a tranquil and calm space and our aim is to enable you to enjoy your holiday without the trials and tribulations of a hectic life. We provide all the basics for housekeeping and tea, coffee and cake on arrival for you to instantly relax and chill out. We are happy for you to get involved in farm life and find out about farming or can leave you in peace, whichever suits you best during your stay.
