Superb cycle routes, coastal paths and down-land walks are on the doorstep.
The property also features private parking. NB. The property is accessed via a narrow country lane).

The view from this cottage is exceptional. After long days walking and exploring we spent hours just taking in the sea view, ships , bird life etc. We had quite a stormy couple of days and the big sea was great.The walks from the cottage are lovely, well signed and plentiful. The fossil coast beach is fascinating.

The property is beautiful. It is thoughtfully designed and the decor is very tasteful. The views are stunning and the location is great. A short walk to 2 beaches and lots of other footpaths. Would recommend a visit to Mottistone Manor nearby.

Coastguard Cottage is the most tranquil, perfectly situated, furnished holiday cottage I have ever stayed in. Bit like Mary Poppins, "Practically Perfect in every way". There is no more to be said..............................the host was brilliant too. Full marks all round

This is our 4th trip to this property. We love it. It is perfect for our needs - roomy, quiet, close to the sea, very clean, very well furnished with everything that one might need (usual kitchen stuff but also a washing machine). Bed extremely comfortable. Host is very easy to contact with queries. I would highly recommend.

A good break in a great place

This is a beautifully presented property, with amazing sea views. Every was requirement catered for, and it was a good place to be during stormy weather.

Fantastic location for a few days away from it all to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary.We felt at home instantly in this wonderfully comfortable cottage with breathtaking views.Communication from George was fantastic, even though he was on holiday himself at the time.

Brilliant (again!)

Cottage is lovely and perfect for a couple. Very peaceful and quiet, the view is gorgeous. The cottage has everything one needs, is very clean and comfortable. Very highly recommended.

Just lovely

A very special place indeed. My husband and I enjoyed a four night stay at George’s cottage. Breathtaking views and walks around the home and lots of enjoyable things to do in the area. We particularly enjoyed mackerel fishing in Yarmouth. Thank you George, we hope to be back!

A peaceful idyll

Almost everything you could need or want in a beautiful cottage, including a giant shoehorn for your walking boots. Views of wildlife and sunsets from the ultra-warm conservatory are wonderful. Several great walks from and to the front door and a bus stop nearby.

Fabulous

We stayed here last year and loved it so much we returned. Such a well thought out property with everything you could need to make it comfortable, and all very high quality. Would highly recommend this cottage and the lovely location. George is always very responsive to minor queries we have had. We’ll be back again!

Totally fabulous

This is a glorious place away from noise and pollution. The sea views are wonderful, fossil hunting and loads of other water activities at the beach across the road. The cottage is beautifully and thoughtfully laid out, with everything you could possibly need. My only reservation in writing a good review as other people might discover this little part of paradise. Owners were great and it’s easy to park and get in. Would highly recommend and we will be booking again soon.

Wonderful cottage with sea views

We loved 4 Coastguard Cottages. Its perfect for a couple wanting a few days R&R. Beautifully furnished and clean, its a real home from home. The view across the south coast of the island is magnificent. We hope to return. The view of the cottage from the outside doesn’t really do it justice. Its an interesting place, obviously with some history. Access is via the narrow and un-made up Coastguards Lane and a car with front, side and back distance sensors will have a panic attack all the way up! You quickly get used to it, but a small car works best!

Lovely holiday cottage

The cottage is in a lovely location with an undisturbed view of the sea. The owners have decorated the cottage to a very high standard and is equipped with everything you could possibly need....home from home. The access lane to the cottage is single track and will probably set off your car sensors if you have them....mind did. The parking space for the cottage is at the far end of the row of 6 cottages behind a chain, not directly outside the cottage. The new space is much bigger and easier to access. Thank you George for allowing us to enjoy your cottage.

Blissful

We stayed mid June when the weather was very hot & dry, the close proximity to the beach made our stay amazing. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. The online pics of the view at the front really don't do it justice. The only pub with in walking distance (The Sun) is mediocre at best. Just one real draw back is the access lane which is little more than a dirt track & the parking space provided is not ideal. Probably OK in a smaller modern car but a bit of a challenge in my 60 year old Rover

Great cottage in a fairly quiet location down a narrow laneway. The Sea view is wonderful. Washing machine is very handy. The backyard line or warm front sunroom are great for drying laundry. Well equipped laundry. Comfy lounge area. The bedrooms and bathrooms are up some narrow steepStairs that have a rope ballustrade. We didn’t take our suitcases upstairs for this reason but plenty of room downstairs. It’s handy having a car parking spot off the road although it’s a bit rough and a little walk. It was a relaxing place to stay.
