Our modern and spacious 2-bedroom suite boasts stunning ocean views from the balcony of the master bedroom, perfect for sipping coffee or tea in the morning.

Enjoy all the comforts of home with a fully equipped kitchenette, 4-person dining area, 4 piece bath, and a spacious living room with 42" high-definition TV for cozy movie nights, Plus the convenience of your own private entrance, secure wireless internet, and small private office space.

Outside, our beachside lawn offers a serene setting with patio and barbecue, beautiful views of the Bay, and easy access to the beach. This upper room/loft is ideally located on the shore of beautiful Departure Bay, and provides for a great starting point to explore the east coast of the Island. Comfortable beds in two separate sleeping areas was appreciated, as well as the fully functional kitchen.The room is accessed through a private entrance and up a flight of stairs. Guests should also bring along a comfy pair of house slippers for the hardwood floors.

Clean rooms and comfortable beds . Beautiful view from one bedroom overlooking ocean . Kitchen was ok however we felt we did not have enough cupboards space for the length of our space. Great space for short stays 2-4 days . We stayed 3 months and we felt we ran out of space . First time staying in a space overtop of landlord , not my preference , I felt very conscious on my every step. Furniture in front room not comfortable for older adults . Host tried to keep contact throughout stay and make sure we were ok and to provide guidelines which was disruptive again due to being in her home on top floor she was very concerned about conditions of her floors and bedding . Not my idea situation and I will make sure my next booking is NOT upstairs of landlords . My preference is to be in separate space from landlords.

Such a wonderful place! Ken & Taaje were wonderful hosts. The unit is very spacious with privacy for each bedroom. Sheets, towels, blankets and pillows are all very high quality and every detail has been taken care of. We would definitely stay there again! Hearing the waves in the beach at night was fabulous!

Just lovely!

The Randle House is a wonderful place to stay. Perfect location, clean, quiet and all the comforts of home. The convenience of the private entrance and enjoying the bay front balcony from the bedroom were excellent. Communication with the property owners before and during our stay was great. We would absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay with Taaja. The apartment is really complete, good beds and a wonderfull view. The wifi is not perfect but sufficient for our needs. Clean and cosy.

The location was lovely, and so was one bedroom. I can’t recommend it though because of the way the host managed it. We stayed here on a multi-day trip, and mid trip but after she accepted payment she called me saying that she doesn’t accept children. She seemed relieved our child was 11, not young, but was still made me uncomfortable asking “Yours will be well behaved, right?” I’m not sure what we would have done. Second of all we told her we would arrive in time for a late quick diner in the suite. There was a hail storm as we got ready to leave Victoria, so didn’t get there until 8:30pm. I communicated our progress, but she seemed mad saying “You almost didn’t make it, I told you I go to sleep at 10pm!” I was confused. We had a tired kid who was recovering from motion sickness and wanted to make him noodles and get him to bed. But her process is to have you come to her living room for an extended talk about house rules and concerns. She was very stressed we would be too loud walking as it’s over her suite, and inspected the bottom of my child’s orthopedic slippers to see if they were too loud? She did a room by room tour of everything she wanted done until 9:30 pm when I wanted to go to bed, then was mad three days latter when we couldn’t remember it all. There was nothing she told us that could not be written down on a checklist making it easier. Then she called me two days latter yelling we must have been who gave her suite bedbugs. We didn't, but that’s not the point.

We had a wonderful stay at this Departure Bay studio in Nanaimo. The location is fantastic—easy to access and close to everything, with truly amazing views. The space itself is cozy, comfortable, and beautifully decorated and furnished, making it feel like home right away.The only note to mention is that the studio is accessed by a narrow flight of stairs. This wasn’t a problem but it could be a bit challenging for elderly guests or those with limited mobility.Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely recommend this spot for anyone visiting Nanaimo!Thank you, Taaja and family!

Tha k you lori. The suite is not a studio, it is a very large expansive 1, 050 sq ft 2 bedroom suite. Everyone is rather shocked at the size when they step in. Even with the best pictures, it doesnt show how expandive it acgually is. Many guests remark about this.

Great place

This suite was a great place for us to hang our hats for the couple of weeks we were In Nanaimo. The location was amazing, as were the views of the harbour and ferries. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, what a great comfortable, well appointed Home. The hosts were very approachable and took care of all of our needs.

This is my second stay at this VRBO and find the suite and ocean setting to be lovely. The suite is clean and well appointed to support basic meal preparation. The location at departure bay beach is great with easy access to refreshing dips in the ocean and viewing of the marine activity in Departure Bay. Taaja is very accommodating and easy to deal with.This unit gets wonderful cross breezes through the windows but is not equipped with AC. I would recommend this unit.

As a former stewardess; model of over 30 years and runway confidence coach teaching women: the walk, the look, and how to own the room, Taaja on a whim, found herself in a "for sale" stunning beach house on Departure Bay. She set sail from West Vancouver, BC, bought the house and is now the vacation rental owner and operator of Randle House By The Sea. An unexpected dream come true! Her absolute love of cooking now offers her guests to taste some inspired breakfast alternatives and some updated oldies but goldies like her!
Having traveled much of the world, Taaja is passionate about the myriad of exciting things to experience see, and do and the natural wonders right at home on beautiful Vancouver Island.

My husband loves fishing. As a young family we often made trips to the Island, fishing, camping, touring and just getting away from the city. We would take the kids to our favourite place, Coombs. Huge ice cream cones, country grocery shopping, little stores of all kinds. Coombs fame came from having goats on the roof. The fabulous white dishes i serve my B&B guests from come from there. Fairly new, Cuckoos is without question the best Italian restaurant in western Canada. The famed outdoor terrace looks over a grassy field that plunges below to a little cabin and a few goats eating the greenery. Near Nanaimo is some great mushroom foraging. Mahle House will surely have a wild mushroom entree. A renowned restaurant, a short distance in the country is The Crow and Gate, an original English Pub with huge roaring real fire places loved by all our guests. We are so pleased we made so many, many little trips here with our children I never believed that I, a city girl would actually move to the Island, but I have never looked back. There is so much to do here and having moved from West Vancouver, I find I can go anywhere and be in the country, go on my bicycle to a local farm tucked in the city where I can pick up a dozen eggs or a fresh home grown chicken. The farmers markets are plentiful, all organic food.
Other than Victoria, Naniamo is the cultural central of Vancouver Island.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

It was not hard to fall in love with this beautiful home. From the moment I stepped through the ivy arched entrance into a charming landscaped inner courtyard, themed in blossoms of pink, white and fuchsia, I was struck with its beauty. A Japanese maple spills over a cozy worn sitting bench. A bird bath and feeders with chickadees twittering about. This is an English Tudor style home with leaded glass windows, but built only 19 years ago facing the Salish Sea. Because Departure Bay is the MOST TEMPERATE area in all of Canada, I could see why this was a winter haven for the First Nations/Indigenous peoples and why they would spend their winters here on Departure Bay before moving on in the spring. Stories abound, and it is my desire to read, hear stories from some of the locals, and find out more about this area and its original inhabitants. Moving along the side of the house towards the ocean, I passed by an outdoor shower. Being a long distance swimmer, that was a wonderful surprise. I again was struck by the beauty of my new surroundings as I approached the front.....the breathtaking view of the Pacific ocean stretched out in front of me. Off in the short distance is Jessie Island and further beyond that Snake Island and beyond, the mountains of Garibaldi and Whistler. New Castle Island is across the bay and cradled in the dock was a BC ferry. I love them, they come and go ever so softly. We call them floating cupcakes, they gleam in the sun. On any given day you can get a completely different photograph of the ocean, sky and scenery. Every color of the rainbow and many different tones and feelings. Just far enough away and close enough to walk is Drip Social, a new coffee shop. You can swim to the barrel and back, a good exercise. There are 6 Adirondack chairs with foot stools, umbrellas, eating areas and a grassy area to take a nap or watch "National Geographic" unfold alive with nature.
