This new (2017) 4 bedroom oceanfront condo is great for a sun and fun week at the beach. It features beautiful views of the Atlantic and has plenty of amenities, including an oceanfront pool (open after April 1 (depends on pool inspection process) and usually stays open through October 31st), just steps from your door, a covered ocean side porch with a large deck, and is creatively decorated and furnished with your basic beach needs. As part of the condo association, you have free access to the intercoastal waterway for boating, great fishing and crabbing, as well as multiple tennis courts and 2 other pools. This home away from home also includes parking for 6 with room to spare, an outdoor shower, water toys, Streaming Service, W/D, MW, DVD player as well as wireless Internet service. The beds include 1 King, 2 Queens, 2 twins, and one set of bunk beds (twins). Note that linens are not included in the rental rate. We only rent on a 7 day basis (from Saturday to Saturday). Come, relax in our colorful rockers and enjoy watching the dolphins and shrimp boats as they make their way along the coast.

Minimum age to sign rental agreement is 25 years.

We carried our children and grandchildren on a great OIB vacation. The weather was perfect except for Hurricane Erin which caused red flags from Tues-Friday, but no rain. The house is exceptionally well stocked in the kitchen and as a bonus there are boggie boards, pool floats, and small nets for shelling in the storage room. We ate out one night at Sharkyā€™s and also at Oyster Rock in Calabash. Oyster Rock gives huge servings so think about sharing. The views from the house are incredible. Overall a great trip.

Great house right on the beach!

Enjoyed this great house, spotless, well organized kitchen. Large outside decks with many rocking chairs, and a clean cabana. We are beach walkers and ocean swimmers, but also liked the pool. One plus was to get in at noon the first Saturday, so we did and had a sunny first day on the beach!

OIB 2025

The house was a great place to stay on OIB with a great location and the ocean front pool. The house is really nicely decorated with incredible artwork made by the owner and had plenty of space for our family to have dinner together. We especially enjoyed eating meals at the table on the deck. The rocking chairs on the deck were a favorite too.

This was a wonderful experience; probably one of our favorites in OIB, and weā€™ve been visiting for 20 years. Beautiful home with more than enough room, excellent location, super clean and kind/prompt communication with the owner. The porches and easy walk to the beach made it absolutely perfect for our family which includes my elderly parents. The only bad part was leaving which is always so hard. Hope to be back soon!!

Beautiful beach home

We really enjoyed our stay at this beachfront home. Plenty of room for 6+ people, the access to the beach was excellent (not too many stairs to get over the dunes to the beach). The home worked great with a couple toddlers... we used a couple baby gates and they were safe. The cleaning before our arrival was not excellent, the owners are working on that. Pool area was dated, but nice... and great for small kids. On a nice, quiet street, easy accesss to all normal needs on vacation.

More than we even hoped for!

This is an amazing house. It is super clean an organized. Everything you could possibly need in a kitchen was there. The hosts were super helpful with any questions we had. We will definitely be back!

Awesome place and great central location!

The property was ready for occupation upon arrival. It was very clean, organized, and met or surpassed all of our expectations. The location is awesome, and the immediate beach and pool access made our stay the most enjoyable of all of our family vacations. The owners were accessible and very easy to work with. They also responded immediately to any questions or concerns. The property was accurately described and was as nice as it was pictured in the listing. The decorations and colors were wonderful. I would highly recommend Robert and Sheri's place and I want to thank them for sharing their lovely home with us.

Great Stay

This was the first time together on vacation for our newly combined family. 8 adults and 2 children. We loved it. The house was clean with modern amenities, and it was located right on the beach with a swimming pool. We had a great experience.

Amazing Vacation!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay this summer. When we arrived the place was just as described and super clean. We felt like we are living in our own home the week we stayed vs a rental property which was great! We had easy and close access to the beach and pool which was great for us and our young children. The owners where also super nice and helpful. We had lots of questions in the months leading up to our rental week and they were fast to respond and very helpful and thorough in their responses. I donā€™t normally leave reviews, but this was such a great experience for us I wanted to share! This is a great place to stay on your vacation and we will definitely be coming back!

The property was absolutely beautiful. One quick question, however, the listing said 3 full baths and one half. There are only 2 full baths. It wasnā€™t an issue but it should be corrected

Great cottage! Clean. Clean and clean.

Clean and so colorful. Huge decks to hang out on. Gated boardwalk to beach. The most well stocked kitchen in a rental that we have ever stayed in. Beautiful art work, created by Sheri. Nice pool area right out the back. The 2 upstairs BR's and the upper deck offer great sunrise views. Highly recommended!

First family vacation

My family (total of 10) had our first family vacation here together. We loved being on the beach with little ones and having the pool right there! The only thing I didnā€™t realize and maybe this will help the next guests- bring your sheets or rent them if you are flying. I didnā€™t realize this was common until a few weeks prior. Also you share the pool with the condo association so it could be busy during holidays. It was PERFECT the weekend after Labor Day, so quiet and relaxing. We 100% would book this house in the future. Very clean and beautiful views. 10/10

Ocean Isle Beach September 2022

This is not the first time weā€™ve stayed here but as always dealing with the owners is fantastic, the place is in an ideal spot on the west end of the island and it accommodates all of our needs. Beautiful views beautiful beach, beautiful pool, and great weather even if the weather wasnā€™t great it wouldnā€™t be bad to be stuck inside in this cottage. The decorating is fantastic and all the instructions to get in and get out are top notch. Looking forward to our next visit!

Great view!

We really enjoyed our stay! You canā€™t beat the view and the large deck. The pool is awesome. It is nice to be able to see the ocean from the pool. The rooms are very small. There is not much room or storage in the master bedroom. Like it says in the description you want to make sure to bring any paper products, hand soaps, cooking needs (ie. Spices, olive oil, etc), foil, bags with you. One thing I did not think about bringing is a mat when you step out of the shower so you donā€™t get water all over the floor. There really arenā€™t any supplies left from previous guests. The outdoor shower was a hit, with both the kids and the adults! The owners are very friendly and easy to contact. We will be returning here!

Great week at a lovely property in OIB!

Our family has been coming to OIB for the last 5 years. We outgrew the place we used to stay and truly enjoyed this property! Some of our favorite things I would note: - The location and view are perfect. The ease of the walk to/from the beach is second to none! - Love the open ceilings and all the natural light that comes in the windows. - We ate and hang out on the decks constantly. It was so, so nice to be able to enjoy the outdoors just right outside our windows. - There was plenty of space for our family of 5, and probably could have had one more couple and had room as well. - Lots of cool original artwork and bright beach colors throughout. - The outdoor shower is so nice for kiddos - they preferred that to the indoor ones so we just kept soap and shampoo outside and bathed them there! Just a few things to keep in mind: - Bring your own or rent towels and linens, dishwashing soap, detergent, toilet paper, (as the listing states), salt and pepper if you plan to cook. - The rooms are on the smaller side, but have great built-in storage. So if you have someone staying in every room, you will likely need to unpack your suitcase and put back in the car. (We used two rooms for luggage). We would absolutely recommend and stay here again. We had an amazing time - we would stay again and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay on OIB. We have been coming to OIB for 10+ years and this is one of the best places we have stayed. Best place weā€™ve stayed at OIB!!

We are a family with 4 kids ranging from 3-11. It is very hard to find a nice oceanfront property that will hold all of us while not paying 10 k for a big house! This place was perfect! The decor is amazing and the view is unbeatable! Love the picture window in the master bedroom. The extra large deck plus second story deck were a huge perk and the ocean front pool was in perfect shape and steps from the deck. We absolutely loved the outdoor shower! We will definitely be booking this place again!

We currently live in New Bern, NC where we moved in 2020. Sheri grew up in Raleigh, NC and went to school at UNC - Charlotte. Robert grew up in Atlanta and went to NC State University. Our kids grew up in Chesapeake public schools. Aslyn graduated from William & Mary and Kaity graduated from Virginia Tech. We love anything outside - we hike, camp, garden and have our own Koi pond.

We inherited this property in 2014. Our family has been coming here since 1990 and it is like our second home. Our kids would never let us even think about selling it!!! So many wonderful memories here. With the pool and ocean basically right outside the door, it doesn't get much better than this! The cottage was originally named "Country by the Sea" by Sheri's parents back in 1990. Due to structural issues, the unit had to be completely torn down and rebuilt in 2017. We have changed the name to "Adventure by the Sea" because there is really nothing country about it anymore (and adventure describes our family much better!). It was a long process to get this unit rebuilt, but the blessing is that almost everything inside and out will be brand new with the same quirky style as before. Association has 3 pools - one of which is basically right outside the ocean side porch. The pools are maintained and open after April 1st (depends on pool inspection process and is out of our control) and usually stays open until October 31st each year. The view is outstanding. With new rockers, you can spend hours outside enjoying the view.
EVERYTHING is BRAND NEW, except the view and a few pieces of furniture, and now we have an upstairs view and deck!!! What more could you want?
