Ocean front house on Goose Rocks Beach! Kid friendly!

If you are interested in renting our home for the summer of 2024 we will be accepting requests starting in January 2024.

This classic beachfront house is located on the private side of Goose Rocks and has direct access to three miles of pristine, white sand beach. It has a kitchen and integrated living and dining room. It has 3 bedrooms (sleeps 6 people), a sunporch and one bathroom. It has a picture window looking onto the beach, and a flat screen TV. The main living area opens to the outdoor deck, which has a gas grill and an outdoor dining table.

This is at least the sixth time I've rented this beautiful home over more than 30 years, and I will again, God willing. It's super pet-friendly, right on the loveliest beach in Maine, and the views, the privacy, are wonderful. The house is a throwback. It's hardly modern; some of the furniture has been there from when we first stayed and the porch and spot show their history. Still, that's the allure in many ways and I have no complaints about it. You may get a feeling of nostalgia, a good feeling. And when you look out the porch, or the front window, or walk down the steps to the beach you'll perhaps agree with me that this is a very special place. Too, it's on the best stretch of Goose Rocks beach. It's quiet, away from some busiest sections, and so very private. I also think it gets far less of the seawood that some of the sections north-east get but that may be must my perception. The sand is lovely, soft, and clean. The photo attached is a typical morning. Oh, and while the water is Maine water, the shallows at low tide are almost warm -- at least not frigid.

This is such a magical place that I selfishly don’t want to write a review just to keep it a hidden gem to myself. lol. The house location is PERFECTION. Anyone who knows Gooserocks knows about the magic that the beach brings to us. We had the best week. And the blue beach cottage has everything you need and more—plus dog friendly so our favorite girl Lula could spend the week with us making it even more special. The owner John and his daughters are lovely. We can’t wait to visit again.

Family vacation

The beach cottage was the perfect location for our family vacation. Just steps from the beach, we thoroughly enjoyed spending time walking on the beach, sailing, kayaking, and simply soaking in the gorgeous views of the ocean. The cottage was simple, but cozy, and provided all that we needed. We would definitely come back!

What an amazing time

We just love Goose Rocks and this house was in such a great spot. Views amazing, house had everything we needed. Location is perfect. Owners were so nice and great to communicate with. We found our yearly spot for sure and can't wait to come back!

A Place to Call Home

This is the quintessential Maine cottage - cozy, comfortable, and quaint. John was a very responsive host and check-in was easy. The location is exceptional with great access to the beach. We loved it!

Just the BARE MINIMUM!

Very disappointed in this property! The location and the view were excellent, but everything else was just the bare minimum! The place was not very clean, just surfaced wiped. There were cobwebs in the bedrooms, 1/2" of dust above the bathroom mirror, and the cupboards and dishes in the kitchen were filthy. We had to wash any dishes or glasses before we could use them. The house was built in 1958 and many of the fixtures were original to the house. It is old and everything in the house is very dated. There are not enough accessible outlets in the house and most are original, not updated for current needs. The bed were terrible! No mattress pads! Linens were very dated. There are NOT 4 bedrooms! What is considered the 4th bedroom, is actually a sun porch wit a futon and windows that do not open. There are also NOT 2 bathrooms! What they are calling a bathroom is actually a toilet and a gross shower stall in the basement, down a set of very steep set of wooden stairs. We would not venture into the basement except to do a load of laundry! 1 TINY bathroom for 4 adults was a challenge. Seriously though, 1-ply toilet paper (the cheapest kind you can get!) no kleenex, no toiletries if any kind save a bar of soap, no wash cloths or hand towels provided. Just the VERY BARE MINIMUM! The kitchen is just barely functional. There is a stove, fridge, and microwave, but no counter space in which to prepare a meal. No dishwasher. Would not recommend or return.

Fabulous location and views

Even though it was cloudy and rainy a couple of days we had a great trip. The views can’t be beat. This is oceanfront 100%. Huge living room window gives you views of coastline and beach is literally steps away. Sunroom also and front porch. Don’t go looking for finished and modern. This is old Maine beach cottage through and through. Original wood and light fixtures are charming. Kitchen is small but functional. I would think it might get hot in the summer with no ac but we were there in April so not sure. John was very responsive and accommodating. If you are looking for true beachfront, old Maine cottage charm, this is for you. We would definitely return again.

Very Relaxing

While the house is older, it is very clean and what a beautiful view. We found the kitchen well stocked with everything needed for cooking. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises, moon rises and ended our week watching the waves of a storm. Very relaxing!

Wonderful GRB house

My family had a great stay. The house had everything we needed for an amazing GRB vacation - Plenty of room for 5 adults, a big yard, and you can’t beat being right on the ocean! It was a pleasure to talk with the owner and we look forward to a return trip! 😎

Gorgeous!

We had such an amazing time! The house was a great size for us all to spread out and have our space. It was my wife and I, our 4 year old and two senior dogs. One of our dogs couldn't make it down the stairs to the beach, but there is a public access point which is about a 6 minute walk or 1 minute drive at the beginning of the road, so that worked out great! Spacious yard to run around or lounge in if you need a break from the beach. The house itself is so special, old fashioned, clean, storage behind every wall it seemed. Reminded me of the house I grew up in, I loved it. Very friendly neighbors, super dog friendly area, we watched people walking the beach with their dogs every day. Very responsive hosts, we had multiple contacts, everyone was very friendly and helpful. So much good food in the area, plenty of vegan options, if you were wondering. We went to Fiafia a few times for their delicious smoothie bowls! The beach itself was absolutely magical, we watched seals out our window in the ocean. The piping plovers were incredible to see, we kept our dogs on leash and it was very easy to keep a respectful distance but also witness these rare birds, I was in heaven! We visited the Rachel Carson Wildlife Reserve, there is a 1 mile dog friendly trail, it was so beautiful, highly recommend checking it out. Can't say enough good things about this property, we can't wait to go back!

Amazing Stay at Goose Rocks Beach

We had an amazing time at this property over Spring Break. The owner John is super helpful, and very nice. The home itself is amazing. It's cozy, inviting, with a nice layout, warm working fireplace, and comfortable furniture. You couldn't ask for a better location, right on the beach with a huge grassy lawn for the kids to run around in. The home is well appointed with all the amenities needed. The beach itself is great for kids. We came on a spring trip, so the weather was cooler, but we had a great time combing the beach, playing on the rocks, watching the sea otters play in the water right in front of the house, and more. We also enjoyed the close access to many great restaurants and shops, only 10 minutes away. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing vacation.

Beautiful Location!

We had an awesome week at GRB! The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The yard was great for our 2 young kids and dog. John was very accommodating and responsive. You can’t beat the location and views!

A classic beach cottage with modern amenities!

Great location and very comfortable. Beautiful spring gardens and lilacs in bloom during our stay. Our pup appreciated the big yard while those of us who had to work remotely were glad of the 5G network. We understand why this place books up for the summer! Very friendly owner who made sure all was well at check-in time and helped us navigate trash pick-up day. We hated to leave!

Family get away!

We had a truly amazing time. We used to stay in this home back in 1979/1980 and nothing has changed since then. The location along the private side of Goose Rocks is perfect. The beach is still vast and unbelievably clean, with shells galore delivered with each new tide. The house is very clean and has been amazingly maintained with a true beachy feel. There’s plenty of space for 6 adults and a couple of kids. Our 8 and 10 yr olds loved running back and fourth from the beach to the house, easily grabbing for new toys/play all day long. The family room was very spacious for all of us to watch movies at nite and offers some of the best views of stunning sun rises! Falling asleep to the waves crashing was a delight for everyone! The basement offers an easy means of showering off the sand/salt, with an extra shower, and is spacious enough to store all extra supplies (over stock of food/coolers/bikes/floats/etc). The washer dryer was also super helpful so we didn’t have to pack too many back up clothes! The yard is very spacious for outdoor games, we played croquet and football mostly! On mornings where we weren’t quite ready to hit the beach, we made use of the lawn chairs and just admired the beautiful ocean views from above. The home is truly a gem and we will certainly be returning!

Beach Charmer

We had a fantastic stay! This classic beach cottage is cozy, comfortable and well-appointed. It’s situated on the most beautiful beach just steps to the sand and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to coming back next year!

Great House on Beach

This house was perfect on our recent trip out to Maine! It has everything we needed to enjoy our time on the beach in the Kennebunkport area. The location was great and the house was accurately described and was roomy enough to accommodate all of our group. The ocean right out the front door was perfect to play in, being in the cove the water is calm enough to kayak and paddleboard. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a stay at Goose Rocks Beach! Thanks, Scott
