This quaint, newly redecorated and furnished adorable Maine cottage in the heart of Dock Square, Kennebunkport village is just steps from great shopping, cafes, gift shops, antiquing, fantastic dining, whale watching & sailing excursions. Perched literally over the Kennebunk River on wooden piers! You can't get any closer to the water. Take advantage of a great opportunity to stay in Dock Square in a truly unique waterfront home.

Have morning coffee or evening cocktails and watch the boats navigate the Kennebunk River. Take an evening stroll into town and enjoy dinner at , cocktails on the river at The Boathouse or a lobster roll at the famous Clam Shack then head to Ben and Jerry's for dessert. Everything is right at our doorstep!
The Colony Beach is just about one mile down the road and picturesque Cape Porpoise village is two miles up route 9!
Other beaches including Goose Rocks, Kennebunk, Gooch's and Mother's Beach are all within 15-30 minutes drive.

Minnow Cottage is fabulous! It is sparklingly clean and thoughtfully appointed. It has lovely views from all rooms. Host Brian is without doubt the best, most attentive (without being obtrusive), host we have ever had. The cottage is within easy walking distance to the many shops and restaurants in and around Dock Square. My husband and I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this property. LMN

Amazing cottage with lots of character

We really enjoyed our stay - the home was very clean, nice New England feel right on the water with boats, and the house was stocked with everything we needed for a short getaway. Brian was also a great host with quick responsiveness and helpful with all our questions. Highly recommend this place! We’d love to come back!

Adventures at Minnow Cottage.

Minnow Cottage was the perfect spot for our getaway to Kennebunkport. We stayed for five nights and really enjoyed the peaceful setting and easy access to town. The cottage itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We loved exploring the local shops and restaurants, and everyone we met was so welcoming. Great place to relax and take in the charm of the area—we’d absolutely come back!

The most perfect home...

I became enchanted with Kennebunkport when I visited briefly in 2001 for a wedding. I've always wanted my mom and sisters to experience it, too. Mom and I have researched places to stay in Maine for years, and we fell in love with this cottage and "favorited" it a few years ago. It was more of a dream than reality that we'd ever get to stay here. Well, after a horrible year medically for me, and the sudden loss of my mom's twin sister, I had to make it happen. I booked our dream home on a whim, and we made it happen. It was truly magical. The house is as cute as the pictures. It is perfectly located. It is SO clean. The whole process was super easy. And Brian was so wonderful to deal with. He even left a book of recommended restaurants and things to do! Right down to the frozen beer mugs in the freezer - something my dad always insisted on when he was with us - they thought of everything! It really was the perfect trip! We loved every minute. I can't explain how much my family needed this and how much we loved this home. We hope to do it again someday. THANK YOU!

New England Gem

If you are looking for the ambience of a coastal New England cottage, look no further. Minnow Cottage is a little gem located on the water in a cove with spectacular views from every room and a gorgeous front garden full of hydrangeas. Waking up with morning coffee at the table in the sunroom, whether rain or shine, with a panoramic view of the boats, birds, flowers and wildlife provides an opportunity to savor the simple pleasures of life and will set the tone for the day. This immaculate home is well-appointed and decorated with a sophisticated eye without losing the charm and coziness of a coastal cottage. Brian has accounted for every need to make your stay comfortable and convenient. Minnow Cottage is a short walk to Dock Square for dining and shopping. Lots of dining choices within walking distance including the famous Clam Shack whose lobster roll lives up to its reputation. Loads of antique stores, hydrangeas, beautiful views and seafood throughout Kennebunkport and Kennebunk. We took day trips to Freeport, Rockport and Salem and Gloucester, MA. I fell in love with the area and didn't want to leave. We will be back.

Fabulous Cottage with Exceptional Location

We could not have been more pleased with this quintessential Maine cottage. Incredible location in walking distance to everything. The cottage was exceptionally decorated and the quaint space was maximized through thoughtful coastal design. Even better than the pictures. One queen bedroom was on the first floor, adjacent to the bathroom and kitchen. The other two bedrooms are on the second level of the cottage, accessible by a wee staircase. The single bathroom is cozy and compact. The dining room faces the port and we enjoyed having our morning coffee watching the lobster and whale watching boats. Having cocktails on the yard at sunset was also a favorite, and we got to listen to live music from dock square without having to leave the property. Despite the location the home was very quiet. Having AC is often a luxury in coastal Maine and this cottage was equipped. But a wonderful breeze filtered through the home when the windows were open. While this stay was only my husband and I, it would be a wonderful place for a couple with young children. Charming, sophisticated and perfect location for exploring lower Maine. We will be back!!

My husband and I are the former owners of this little cottage. When we sold it, the new owner asked if I would stay on as the property manager. I eagerly said yes. I enjoy introducing visitors from near and far to this amazing spot in my favorite little town.

I am a native New Englander and live outside of the Boston area. I have my own seasonal cottage in Cape Porpoise (Homeaway #3535073) and have a five star rating after ten seasons of rentals. I strive to provide that great Maine coastal experience for visitors to Minnow Cottage.
