Beautiful Pasadena Neighborhood- Detached Guest House with Garden

A cozy, sweet, 2-story, 1 bedroom unit. Living room & TV are downstairs. Bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen/dining are upstairs. Please note it may be a bit small for tall people. The stairs are also a bit steep and narrow.
Located in one of Pasadena's most beautiful and architecturally distinguished neighborhoods, Madison Heights. Huntington Gardens and Cal Tech are both close by. Walking distance/ short drive to TJ’s & grocery stores, coffee, & restaurants. Old Town Pasadena is less than a mile away.
The unit has an adjacent private patio and garden, as well as a large covered outdoor table. House has 5Gwifi and cable television. A/C and Heat. We have tandem parking in the driveway, shared with host overnight. If you prefer to street park, permits are available online for $3/night. Rosy the Goldendoodle lives on property. She is very sweet and would love to meet you!

Charming and serene

This was the perfect home base for visiting family in Pasadena and LA, with comfortable, charming accommodations, gracious hosts, and a lovely neighborhood. We were within walking distance to everything in Pasadena.

Lovely place in lovely spot

We loved this spot. Very thoughtful touches upon arrival - coffee and snacks waiting for us. Spotless place in a lovely neighborhood. Enjoyed communing with Rosy the labradoodle!

living the life in Pasadena

What a quant and comfortable place to stay. It meets and exceeds my needs to stay near old town Pasadena, Cal Tech and Huntington Gardens. I highly recommend staying here (except when I want stay here!).

Nice little place

Great location, very quiet, close to everything we wanted to see. If you are over 6 feet tall the shower will be a bit cramped, but it's a small concession for the calmness and simplicity you'll get here. Very nice.

Wonderful

Old Pasadena is a delightful area. I actually drive into the museums in LA . I deal with traffic but I feel so safe staying in the VRBO.

Beautiful and charming guest cottage!

This little guest cottage is beautiful and very well-maintained. It is on a lovely piece of property and in a stunning neighborhood that is very relaxing and beautiful to walk around. The owners were fantastic, and communication was very easy. This is a great little place to stay if you are by yourself or perhaps a couple. It also has a beautiful little garden area. This is a wonderful property, and I would definitely stay there again!

Adorable cottage in the most beautiful neighborhood!

We traveled from San Diego to the Pasadena area to see the Huntington Library which is 7 minutes away from this cute cottage. The host provided snacks, fruit, coffee, cream, eggs and butter plus many condiments. Way more than we anticipated. The bathroom was well appointed with soaps and lotions and other toiletry items. Again, more than we expected. The entire stay was lovely.

LOVE IT!

I would totally stay here again! This place has all the good things: great location in a quiet neighborhood, lovely yard, lovely art and books and well set up--so California, a very comfortable bed, and so many added items that were unexpected, like coffee, 1/2 & 1/2, wine, Trader Joes items...It is a wonderful place to stay! The communication with the hosts was easy and they responded quickly. I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Pasadena!

A Delightful Place to Stay in Pasadena

A delightful place to stay. Spotlessly clean place on a super quiet street in an attractive and very safe neighborhood of homes. Location was fine, about a 20 minute walk to restaurants, etc. Every possible amenity was provided and neatly and easily found. Sure, the shower is small, though bigger than anticipated and easily managed. Hosts could not have been nicer or more helpful. Highly recommended!

Wonderful

I enjoy staying at this property. In fact I don’t want to leave after I get there. The neighborhood is SAFE and the houses have lots of character. Traders Joe’s, Starbucks, and Whole Foods are just a few that are close by. I like staying In Pasadena (30-45 minutes to LA) I wouldn’t feel comfortable staying in LA.

Charming and comfortable!

This was a perfect place for my husband and I to stay for a long weekend to visit my mom who lives just two blocks away. I grew up in the area so for me it was very nostalgic to be in this adorable historic neighborhood! Th unit is very cozy and comfortable. So well maintained and stocked with anything you might need! Or anything you might have forgotten. A lovely welcome basket with snacks was such a nice touch. Hope to stay again soon.

We love Pasadena

We were visiting friends in Pasadena and attending the local museums. We selected the property because of its proximity to the Metro, Old Town and the museums. Gorgeous and quiet neighborhood for morning walks, convenient location for all our needs. It was 109 degrees when we arrived. We ran air conditioning in the property and were comfortable the entire time. The property was stocked with pretty much anything you might want. We have stayed at numerous locations through VRBO and this may have been the most thoughtfully organized property we have seen. We would definitely stay here again.

clean, classy, comfortable and artful

This is our second time staying at this venue. Phil is kind, generous, and available for what you may need. The rental is in a beautiful area and artfully decorated. There are many comforts including a stocked fridge with snacks and a welcome bottle of wine. I am almost reluctant to recommend it as I always hope it will be available when I come to Pasadena. Truly, you cannot do better.

Lovely in every way!

This was a great place to stay - I was doing research at the Huntington Library for a few days, and this was perfect for my needs. The kitchen is very well equipped, the bathroom is incredibly well stocked, there were snacks on the counter and wine (and half and half!) in the fridge - everything was truly lovely. Esmé was a great communicator and made sure everything went well. I would definitely stay here again and would give 6 stars if I could! Note: the descriptions about the steep stairs and low ceilings are accurate. I'm fit and short (5'3") so it didn't matter at all.

A too short of stay in a VRBO.

The only problem was that I had to leave. The neighborhood was well kept up 100 year old houses. If I lived in the area I would walk constantly to enjoy the area. Great hosts, great back yard, darling place close to the Huntington Museum, Norton Simon Museum, Gamble House.

Great Pasadena House

This place is terrific! Esmé was wonderful to talk to & made sure that we had everything we could ask for. There were bananas in the kitchen, eggs in the fridge & pasta in the pantry. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Hope we were great guests as well.

Darling Place

Great place to stay. I was impressed by the attention to details, coffee service, and even some food for breakfast. We appreciated the Wine, the ambience, and the gracious hosts. Very lovely to take a run or walk in Neiborhood. Good restaurants near by. I’d highly recommend this cute and well located place.

Winter in Pasadena

First time visit to this quirky / artsy bungalow. Fit the bill! Clean, well stocked & excellent location. People were friendly & easy going… It is small but big enough for two. Patio was a plus! Be aware, not a good fit for big or tall people. Shower is tight not built for anyone over 5’ 10”…

Short stay in the heart of Pasadena

I loved staying here and hope to do so again. The unit was small-ish but very comfortable, with a lovely kitchen and bathroom, a separate living room on the ground floor and lovely outdoor space. It’s located a short walk to Colorado Blvd and Lake Street, so near all the good stuff to see. My hosts also left a snack basket (with great snacks), a bottle of wine and food for breakfast the first day. Comfortable space, food, wine and location. What more does anyone need?

Very clean and convenient, quiet location

The property was in a great location and the hosts were very attentive to our needs. The kitchen was well-stocked with goodies upon arrival, which was thoughtful and very much appreciated. The stairs were a bit of a challenge with the kitchen being located upstairs with the bathroom and bedroom. Suggestion, it might be more convenient to have the bedroom located downstairs, where the closet was located...just a suggestion. We enjoyed our stay.

This house has been in our family for over forty years. While regularly upgraded it retains the charm of an early 20th century home. As a young couple we first moved to this area in 1972. with our one year old son. Shortly after my wife's mother moved in down the street into this address. After years in Sonoma County after retirement we returned to be close to family and the interests and variety of urban life in a beautiful city. Pasadena has a long and fascinating history with all the glitter of now and the charm of a gracious past.
