Welcome to The Bath House overlooking both Back and Bath Creeks in Historic Bath, the oldest town in North Carolina.

The Bath House, our family summer home, is comfortably and lovingly appointed, and features 3 downstairs bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master suite has a queen bed, full bath and separate dressing table with sink, not to mention full-length windows, allowing beautiful views of the water. Two guest bedrooms share a bathroom, with queen bed and the other with 2 twin beds. The fourth upstairs queen bedroom has a half bath and a downstairs shower off the garage. Bed and bath linens are provided.

The spacious great room with beautiful cathedral ceilings, full-length windows and large brick wood-burning fireplace provides plenty of room for gathering and relaxing with access to deck and 4 comfortable rocking chairs and built in benches: ideal for enjoying waterfront views and spectacular sunsets. A cozy sun room adjoins eat-in kitchen with dining table that seats eight, and more floor-to-ceiling windows for those unforgettable views.

Extras include a 110-foot pier with two Adirondack chairs (and plenty of folding chairs) that affords fishing, crabbing, swimming, and sunning. Deep water access welcomes boats (a boat ramp is just minutes away). Two grills, one large gas and one charcoal, high speed wireless, family-sized kitchen with large and small appliances galore --- all designed to make it easy to soak in the sun and the local culture, and truly escape.

Make yourself at home. Play corn hole, ride bikes (2 in the garage), kayak at daybreak. We left our rafts, large-brimmed hats, and a few beach towels.

More: Visit the Historic Bath Visitor Center to learn about Bath's history. Enjoy a walking tour of the town and visit what was once the residence of Blackbeard the Pirate, take guided tours of 2 historic homes and see St. Thomas Episcopal Church, the oldest church in North Carolina. "Little Washington" is 15 minutes away with locally owned boutiques, galleries, antique shops, jewelry and gift shops, and a surprising collection of wonderful restaurants that are well-known for their superb local fare. Belhaven is located just down the road from Bath (8 miles by boat) and the Outer Banks of N.C. lay 15 miles east(by boat). The Bayview/Aurora Ferry is located 6 miles down the road. Enjoy digging for fossils at the Aurora Fossil Museum.

Fantastic experience

The house was in a great location to celebrate my daughter’s wedding. It was beautifully decorated and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. We had a little time to enjoy the kayaks! There was plenty of room for our entire family from out of town. Most are elderly and it was nice not having a lot of steps for them. We loved the space and hope to go back. The host reached out and checked in on us during the stay. We had a great time!

Awesome waterfront property!

There were 8 of us and my 6 month old grand daughter. We celebrated my mother-in-laws 80th birthday! I could not have picked a better place for all of us to stay. So quiet and peaceful! We were able to make some crab dip with the 10 large blue crab we caught! Highly recommend this place!!

Great location

A really cute house in an ideal location. The house is right on the water and it has its own peer. We watched a beautiful sunset every night. We walked to Country Kitchen for dinner and had great fried fish. The weather was a little too cold for swimming or kayaking but that would be a great option.

Perfect home and location for our sister's weekend and celebrating a 60th BD

Beautifully kept home with fabulous wayerviews! We enjoyed corn hole and yardze on the side lawn, spending time on the dock, exploring the area and relaxing on the rockers on the deck overlooking both creeks! You can tell this is a well loved home and we fell in love with it too❤️

Most relaxing week ever!

My husband, sister, brother-in-law, nephew, and nephew’s wife loved the property. We felt so at home as soon as we walked in the house with its warm decor. It was amazing to walk out on the dock and catch speckled trout! It was the most relaxing trip we have ever spent together. We loved it so much that we are ready to go back there. Maude was an amazing host. We appreciate her sharing her home with us!

A beautiful, warm, family home. The photos don't do this property justice. Hope to enjoy the water more next time - we were in town for our son's wedding and there wasn't much time for lounging.

Absolutely perfect!

From the moment we walked in it felt like home! The view is amazing! The house is cozy! It is so peaceful out on the porch anytime of the day or night! Sunset view is indescribable!!! We are already trying to plan another stay! The home owner, Maude, is very easy to communicate with, very helpful and sweet!

Great place for family get-together

We were coming from California to visit family in NC and found the Bath House to be a perfect place to gather, relax and enjoy each others company while experiencing a historic area none of us had been to before. The new museum in the old high school in town is impressive, a well done history of the area. Maude was easily available by phone and text to answer the few questions we had. I really appreciated her as a host!

Beautiful with fun activities

This property is beautifully located on the river. Maude is a wonderful host with all things water related available to use. Kayaks, crab pots, floating rafts, bonfire pit. We had a meal of blue crabs based on her advice for catching. The windows on the water side of the house make for a beautiful sunset inside or outside. Would recommended to everyone and would return if in that area again.

Highly recommend The Bath House!

We had such a wonderful time at The Bath House, it exceeded our expectations. The pictures on VRBO do not do it justice! There is a new covered deck on the pier, which provided a perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and added to the variety of outdoor activities, such as swimming, fishing, crabbing, kayaking, and paddle boating. The diverse wildlife we encountered, including martins, hummingbirds, cardinals, dolphins and more, was a true nature lover's dream. My husband and I enjoyed rocking on the porch in the evening watching the sunset and our children and grandchildren wind up last minute water activities. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the abundance of spices provided in the pantry added to our cooking experience. The house provided more than enough space for our family of seven. At dark we'd spend time with our family at the large kitchen table, playing cards, and enjoying music from Alexa, the perfect way to wind down in the evenings. We've already booked again for next year, as it's a testament to the incredible experience we had this year at The Bath House. Maude's attention to detail certainly played a significant role in making our stay so special. We are looking forward to next year and more cherished memories at The Bath House.

Peaceful Respite

Our multi-generational family enjoyed every minute at "The Bath House." Just perfect for grandparents that have difficulty with stairs, who loved being just a few steps from the water. Easy to put in our boat at the ramp around the corner (walkable!) and we enjoyed using the bikes, kayaks, paddle boat, and fishing from the pier. There were so many extras available for our use. We also spent lots of time in the rocking chairs on the shaded deck. The weather was just perfect for lazy rocking and the gardens were in full bloom making the water view even more spectacular. We enjoyed watching the birds and ducks feed by the dining room window and even caught a glimpse of a few dolphins. We never even turned on the TV. The pictures just don't do the house or gardens justice. Not only is the house tastefully decorated, but there are multiple places for a family to spread out. We enjoyed playing games in the den and puzzles in the living room, and still having a table to eat at. The kitchen is fully equipped and fun to cook in. Loved having a pantry for storage and extra ice maker and that the kids had their own space above the garage with a bathroom. Communication was excellent and check-in/out easy. We had a few "hiccups" due to previous guests and Maude took care of everything (even while she was on vacation!), communicating along the way. Thank you, Maude, for allowing us to make wonderful family memories at your delightful home! It was a blessing!

So tranquil!

We rented this beautiful home on Bath creek to visit with family in the area. The home was so comfortable and relaxing it was hard to leave. We loved drinking our coffee and gazing out at the water in the morning and we loved watching the sunset over the water in the evenings. The house is stocked with all the amenities you need for a great stay! Thanks Maude! We truly enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful setting!

A lovely, well-cared-for home on the water—convenient to Bath, Belhaven. and Washington. Thoughtful host who provided starter paper products, a fully equipped kitchen and even choice of coffee pot—drip or pod. We’re ready to come back when we have more time to enjoy the dock, kayaks, fishing, and swimming! Would have loved having shower in upstairs bathroom, but we knew each other well enough to share the downstairs showers. Thanks to Maude and her family for sharing this special place.

Loved this home on the water

Our group of 6 adults really loved Maude's house in Bath. The views from the dock and back deck were endlessly engaging, with many birds and boats. We rode the bikes to explore Bath, and kayaked all around little inlets of the river. It was an idyllic spot to relax. The bed in the main bedroom was a little soft for my husband, but I had no trouble with it, and everyone else reported a good night's rest. We were visiting with friends in Little Washington, and the drive there was easy.

A perfect getaway

We recently stayed at The Bath House and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The location was perfect! The house and all the amenities exceeded our expectations. Not only was the home lovely and well appointed in every room, especially the kitchen, but the dock area and outdoor furnishings (bikes, kayaks, fishing nets, etc.) which were available for our enjoyment made our trip so worthwhile. Communicating with the owner was simple adn timely. I would highly recommend this home!

Stunning sunsets in the perfect setting!

Maude's home was 100% exactly what we needed in our long weekend get away. Everyone was able to have their own room and enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs throughout the days. The dock provided loads of fun with swimming, fishing and crabbing. She provided everything we needed in the kitchen and throughout her home with lovely touches of warmth everywhere. I would definitely visit here again!!
