EXCELLENT LOCATION
The Vista Retreat is nestled in beautiful community surrounded by mountains, green space, and tons of trails to explore! Within a couple of miles, you will find golf courses, fine restaurants, shops, cafes and much more! Quick access to the I-17 freeway will make it breeze for you to get to any part of the valley such as, Scottsdale, Glendale, Peoria, Lake Pleasant, and the University of Phoenix Stadium (Super Bowl 2015). The I-17 will also connect you to easy day trips such as seeing the Grand Canyon or exploring the red mountains of Sedona, Arizona. Comfortable, Newer Townhome in Lovely, Quiet Community

The home was beautiful, just as pictured. The 3 bedrooms had very comfortable beds, and spacious closets. The living room couch was perfect for enjoying the large screen TV. Everything was clean. The kitchen, although minimally stocked with cooking pots/pans, had all we really needed for our stay. We never did find washcloths and kitchen towels, although paper towels were provided. We also purchased charcoal and utilized the community grill at the playground area. There were grilling utensils in the kitchen. We used the washer/dryer several times. The pool area was a short walk from the town home. It was wonderful! It was aesthetically pleasing with the surrounding greenery/landscaping. It had a pretty view of the foothills. The lounge chairs were plentiful and the pool temperature was comfortable. There were also restrooms on site which was convenient with children. The pool was seldom used by others, so we almost always had it to ourselves! Adjacent to the pool was a green area that could be used for the kids to play catch or run around. The town home community was quiet and safe, and the surrounding area had plentiful sidewalks. One of the greatest assets of this property was the proximity to Deem Hills Recreation Area. It was less than a mile walk and had so much to offer! We frequently went there in the mornings to play Frisbee on the two massive soccer fields. The covered playground area was also very nice. On a couple of occasions we hiked the walking paths up the foothills. Enjoyable! This Deer Valley property was within a 5 minute drive to a Safeway Grocery. Another 5 minutes, close to the freeway, there was a huge shopping area with a beautiful outdoor mall and movie theater and several more stores and restaurants. We did have trouble with the temperature in the master bedroom at night. The arrival instructions indicated not to turn the thermostat below 76. It was warm, and the ceiling fan rattled so we often opened the window instead, which helped. We also could never get the cable working in the master bedroom. The arrival instructions also said the green area out the kitchen window, which is shown in the advertisement pictures for walking paths is actually private property, and we were told we would be evicted for playing there. Thus, we went to Deem Hills. The owner, Lee, was very attentive and easy and cordial to work with! Our damage deposit was quickly refunded. All in all, great vacation!

Excellent Host, just okay property.

First off, Lee is an incredible Host and was very responsive to all of our questions/needs, however, the property itself is pricey for what it actually is. It’s a 3bdr town home jammed in to a tiny corner lot behind several homes with no yard and no views. The carpets are old and torn, there are several loose staircase railings (notified property owner), and most of the furnishings/appliances are cheap. Also, there was a limited amount of towels for a family of four and they were very old and very used. Pluses were that there is a nice community pool and several parks close by. The “house” was close to our family we were visiting and so suited our needs but it’s very much overpriced for what it actually was.

Overall this was a very nice and clean place. Lee was easy to get in contact with. We were disappointed to not have hot water in the master bath, but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great Home for Golfing!

We stayed for just over a week in this lovely home. It is in a great location, close to golfing, shops and restaurants. The home is very well maintained and clean with lots of space. We would definitely return!

Clean house & Central to area activities

While this house was on the northern side of the Phoenix area, we were never more than 20-25 minutes away from the most popular attractions and activities. The house was very clean with a well stocked kitchen. Plenty of room to lounge around. Bedrooms were very nice with comfortable beds and sheets. Located in a very nice neighborhood with multiple walking and hiking trails nearby. Appliances and amenities were top notch. Would absolutely stay here again!

Highly recommend! Wonderful place in northern Phoenix.

CLEAN, Quiet and in a lovely setting. The owners have a passion to make our experience exceptional. Our experience surpassed our expectations from the moment we arrived. We spent many hours relaxing by the pool and enjoyed beautiful landscaping as we strolled through the neighborhood. Gorgeous mountains are in the neighborhood providing excellent hiking destinations which makes you forget that you are in a large metropolitan area, but still providing you the convenience with easy access to shopping areas. The owners are incredibly sincere, thoughtful, accommodating, and friendly! Every detail has been considered. What you see in the photos is exactly what we experienced. Owners did an excellent job representing this beautiful place. It was enjoyable to spend a weekend at this extremely clean place with gorgeous views! The perfect getaway ! Has all of the necessary amenities, with nice restaurants nearby. A must stay when you are in northern Phoenix area.

False advertising of heated pool and poor business management

I had a couple siblings and their spouses along with a neice and nephew along for a Spring Break trip from MN. When looking at hundreds of places in the area for rent, a heated pool was a must among our group, as MN Springs are very cold and the water here is 34 degrees around that time, and the kids love swimming all day. We really also wanted a hot tub but get that this place was good enough since the pool was heated. After seeing this place and comparing to many others, we decided on this place. When we arrived there were several things that were surprising: there was a lot of hair in the showers and the towels and bedding were all wet. I informed Lee of this and he said he would make sure his cleaning ladies would do a better job next time (weird no apology or offer of a discount). After we were all unpacked, we were very excited to head to the pool area, being as it was 95 degrees and sunny. Once there, we tried the pool and noticed it was very very cold, probably around 40 degrees. The kids couldn't even stay in the water for two minutes without shivering. I asked a resident by the pool if there was a way to turn on the heater and he informed us that the association decided to save money and not turn the heat on for several months. This would have been great to know when booking this place as our group would have 100% opted for a different place, as now there was no heat and no hot tub. We stayed several days at the unit and couldn't enjoy the one thing we really looked forward to after a day of hiking. I emailed Lee about the situation and he got very aggressive and defensive about the situation and even challenged why I even care if the pool was heated. After several exchanged heated emails from Lee, he did offer a $150 credit to our stay, so I accepted and chose to stay and just swim elsewhere. When I received my damage deposit after the trip, no $150 credit was on the bill. Lee explained that he could not credit through VRBO and that he would send a personal check to my address. Well, after several emails and several weeks, still no $150 check, and NO APOLOGY! Lee was very unprofessional (which is surprising because the reviews prior were very good). Now, 3 months later and a few more emails, still no reply from Lee. He had emailed back a couple months ago saying yes he will be singing the check and even asked for my address. Still nothing. I will never stay here or do business with Lee again and I suggest the same for you.

Spacious, beautiful, up-to-date and newer property

It is exactly as it is described on this listing. Nice single family home, not a condo, in northern Phoenix quiet suburban location surrounded by mountains. City park is within a few minute drive, with children playground and hiking trail. Rooms are up to date, very clean and neat with good taste. There are many restaurants, grocery stores and shopping places within 15 minute radius just off the 17 freeway and 101. Can easily take day trip going north to Sedona, Flagstaff, and Grand Canyon. Would definitely come back to stay here.

Nice Home, Clean and Current

Nice single family home, not a condo, in northern Phoenix suburban location. Plenty of room to spread out, very clean and neat and just off the 17 freeway and 101. Couple of miles to services but overall convenient. Only complaint is no outdoor grill and kitchen is dark. We cooked during our stay and would have enjoyed a grill.

Very comfortable and attractive home

This home is very nicely equipped and furnished with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Clean, fresh, beautifully furnished. We used it for a second home to bring relatives in for my parents 70th wedding anniversary and it worked perfectly. Would definitely recommend it and use it again. Thank you.

Vista Retreat

We spent four nights at this property and it is exactly as it is described on this listing. There is plenty of space, the master bedroom and kitchen are huge, and everything is in great condition. We did not have time to walk around the neighborhood but it was extremely quiet. The location is convenient for someone who wants to visit Phoenix and also make a trip north to Sedona or the Grand Canyon. The owner, Lee, was very quick in all communications. I would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone.

Spacious, beautiful property

This property is just as pictured in the photos. Lee sent us a house layout so we could plan ahead for our large group. The house was very well-kept and clean with a wealth of brochures about local attractions. We came from Colorado for a race in the Black Canyon and this house was perfect since it was just 45 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from the finish line of the race. We love the spacious kitchen, open kitchen area and overall feel of the house. Lee was very helpful with questions about the property and responded to all my emails quickly. His communications made this property easy to book. I highly recommend staying here !

Fiesta Bowl 2016

We came to Phoenix for the Fiesta Bowl 2016... wanted to stay between Phoenix (20 minutes) and Sedona (about an hour and a half). This was the Perfect Spot!! Enjoyed the game and hiked the Red Rocks. Great time!! Found everything in perfect order and very clean. Thanks Lee. We would definitely stay in your lovely home again. The pool looked very inviting although it was too cold to enjoy this time!

Completely enjoyed it

Spent a week here for a wedding and found this house to be completely gorgeous, clean, and well-stocked. It was a short walk to the pool which we used about 2x a day. Central to all the sightseeing we had planned in the area, close to shopping and my husband walked the trail every morning. We would definitely return back here.

Excellent new house wuith everything you need

This is a great property - really comfortable rooms / great beds, new / modern throughout / fast wifi / well stocked kitchen & really nice feel to it. Lee was also excellent with his communication & everything worked well. It is is a new suburb in northern Phoenix, but the freeway got us downtown for events at US airways arena.

Resort style swimming pool offers the gorgeous mountain view. You can spend many hours hanging out at the pool. Neighborhood is very safe and quiet. It is away from the city noise but very convenient to access grocery stores, malls, restaurants and movie theaters.
