Escape to a stunning three-cottage complex nestled on the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan, where a pristine 300 ft sandy beach awaits just steps from your door—no stairs to navigate! This house is filled with art and creation and is related the the J Petter Gallery in Douglas MI. This meticulously remodeled property is perfect for families or multi-generational gatherings, featuring a heated in-ground pool and a modern pool house, all surrounded by ample outdoor entertainment space. Enjoy sunset cocktails or family meals on the enormous front deck, shaded by trees. Accommodating 16-18 guests plus toddlers in Pack N Plays, this haven boasts 9 spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The main house includes 6 bedrooms and 5.5 baths, ensuring everyone has their own sanctuary. For added privacy, there are 2 separate cottages: a cozy 1 bed, 1 bath cottage with a full kitchen and living room, and a 2 bed, 2 bath cottage with a full kitchen, dining, and living area. Plus, you'll find 2 convenient laundry rooms. Unwind with game nights featuring a pool table, ping pong, or soak in breathtaking sky views from the rooftop deck. The accomodations are very comfortable for our large family group. There is adequate space inside and out, and it's really nice to have bathrooms ensuite in most of the rooms. The ammenitites are provided covered everything we could need and want.The decor and the historic house itself has interesting character.The location is ideal with the beach and sunsets at the park across the street. We all enjoyed walking downtown and out to the lighthouses on the pier.Host is unusally considerate and appreciates our business.You can't go wrong with this place. We are repeat guests.

Sundance Place. VRBO - South Haven, MI

Sundance Place in South Haven is a spectacular VRBO rental! And Marta Petter is an awesome VRBO host! Marta welcomes her guests with lovely bouquets of fresh flowers and delightfully curated gift baskets of sweet and savory goodies - and for us (because she remembered something specific our family had enjoyed during our first stay with her) she brought in a new, personally hand-picked decorative object that she knew would delight our grandkids - and it did! Her home is beautifully appointed with an eclectic collection of art pieces throughout, spotlessly clean, handsomely landscaped, and furnished with high-end appliances, cookware, grills, beach towels, and every amenity one could imagine. Her bedrooms are each uniquely decorated with king beds for adults, a charming bunk room for kids, high-end linens, the thickest, softest towels, and a full bath for each bedroom - perfect for multiple families. This home-owner is unbelievably responsive to her guests - instantly available by phone, text, or in person - without being the least bit intrusive. She appears to have on “standby” an arsenal of maintenance professionals to deal with any household problem that might arise, and they seem to show up immediately when needed. We had an issue pop up unexpectedly this year, and Marta jumped right on the problem and had it fixed pronto, allowing us to enjoy another fabulous week at her amazing home. Thanks, Marta. Awesome Lake location

This property was perfect for our family of 19! We were met on arrival by the property manager who explained everything in just the right amount of detail. She and the owner were very responsive to any questions throughout our week The cottages provided extra privacy for those that needed it and the main house (dubbed the big house by our grandkids) had everything we needed including enough dishes, flatware and glasses for everyone. We loved all of the times we were able to all be seated for dinner on the front deck, especially as the sun was setting. Being able to just walk across the street to the beach was also nice, as was being able to walk to the shops, ice cream, bakery, etc. There were plenty of bikes, beach chairs, beach towels pool toys, floats for all, which really helped in packing. The kitchen was well equipped with luxury appliances and cookware. The property was very clean and well-kept. Finally, the welcome basket of local goodies was a nice touch. I would HIGHLY recommend this property.

Perfect for our Family Reunion

The property is set up really well to be comfortable for our family reunion, peaking at 18 guests. There is ample parking and a bathroom for each bedroom! The history of the house and the furnishing have special character. The location is fantastic because the beach is across the street and the town is within walking distance. Marta is the nicest host. She makes extra effort to make you feel like a guest, unlike some VRBO hosts. We did our best to take good care of her beautiful home.

Just Perfect

This is a fabulous property for a family/friend vacation! Our group of 9 adults and 8 “kids” (20 somethings) had a blast at the pool and beach. We are big cooks and had such a nice time eating on the front deck. Great spot!!

Amazing Estate Like Getaway

I convinced our group of 17 to leave the outer banks behind this year and try a summer vacation in Michigan. This house and town was PERFECT. Marta was amazing to work with and provided anything we needed in very fast order. The main house is charming with a top notch kitchen and plenty of space to move around. The two cottages are adorable and offer some privacy with such a large group. The courtyard, fire pits , pool, rooftop of the pool house all are just splendid. So much to do in the area nearby, big part of our group even took the train to Chicago for the day. Can’t say enough about how perfect this place is and Marta the host. We hope to come back.

Potchen retreat

Amazing property for a family get together. Everything one could want or need for a beach vacation. Location was wonderful to watch sunsets nightly and enjoy the area. Even the details were perfect such as linens, bath supplies. The host was so responsive and helpful. We are now trying to figure out when to return:)

Amazing family trip

This house worked perfectly for our family vacation. We had 4 families ages from 2-70 and everyone had an amazing time. With the main house and 2 guest cottages there was privacy and room to spread out. The whole yard being fenced in was great with the kids and the fact that the pool was fenced inside that fence was perfect. The pool was warm and a great depth. We loved walking into town for ice cream, to look at the boats, get ice cream and do a little shopping. One of the best parts was being able to walk across the street to such a beautifully sandy (not too busy) beach and watch a beautiful sunset every night! Communication was great leading up to the trip and while we were there. We would all love to stay here again!

Grandparents Anniversary

Fantastic! A family celebration of our parents' 60th Anniversary: This location, in a beautiful setting, was perfect for my parents, their four children and their children - seventeen of us. Gorgeous sunsets seen from the front window, deck or brief walk to the shore. The accomodations were wonderful - King bed suites for seven couples or singles, and a bunk room for the youngest kids. Modern remodeled kitchen with all the accessories that one could need. The complex of small cottages provided mutliple spaces for the adults, teens and kids to be entertained either in the pool, the rooftop patio, or game rooms. Space for all and spaces to be alone. The main floor bedroom and minimal porch steps were ideal for my dad, who walked to the shoreline each day.

When we booked this property it checked all the boxes. But when we arrived...WOW!!! Marta has taken the time to make sure her guests want for nothing. I can't express just how much we enjoyed this home. Exceptionally clean, super spacious and very comfortable! Marta had everything we could possibly need from bikes to beach towels and everything in between for our group ranging from 6 mos to 89 years! Wonderful stay - we WILL be back! Thanks again Marta!!

Great Vacation Week

Wonderful family vacation in South Haven

We had a large, four generation, family reunion from around the country. There were 13 adults and 5 children under the age of 8. The children were all thrilled with the toys and space to run around, including the swimming pool, game room by the pool, the area around the compound, and the beach. It could not have been a better setting for the young ones. The adults were equally thrilled with the location and the property! We had three separate buildings so we could plan who would stay in the main house and who needed senate living space. Marta was extremely responsive and helpful. She even brought extra toys for the children when she saw how many there were! All-in-all and excellent time with a great host! Thank you Marta!

Beautiful Place for a Big Family

We were very happy with this wonderful place to stay. Walked to town for breakfast. Close to the wedding venue. The children of course loved the pool. Nice view from the porch to see Lake Michigan. The out of state guests were very impressed and happy with the accommodations. I would love to rent even one of the cabins if a chance presents its self again. I love the information about the many unique artworks and pieces in and around the place. Marta is a great host and gave us several choices of places that we could have the rehearsal dinner in town. Plus a nice gift basket waiting as well.

Winter family get-away

Great property, plenty of room for our group of 18. House was very clean and had everything we needed. Location was also great, very close to beach, shopping and restaurants. Will be back again - hopefully in the summer to try out the pool.

Wonderful home with all the amenities you could need

We had a fantastic experience renting this property! We rented the home over the thanksgiving holiday, as we did not feel comfortable doing our usual traditions due to the pandemic. Marta was super attentive and provided us with all the information we needed before, during and even after our stay. Everyone had nothing but nice things to say about the home and property. So many thoughtful touches in the house, I especially appreciated the complimentary makeup remover wipes in the bathroom as I had forgotten to bring my own. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who is looking for a larger space while still wanting the option to have privacy as well.

Just what we were looking for

This place was exactly what we were looking for! Perfect location with easy beach access right across the street. Spacious property with enough space to have everyone congregate and also spread out when needed. The pool and pool area with fire pit and rooftop got lots of use, as did the big front porch area. Marta was very responsive throughout with all questions we had. Would definitely come back!

Family Reunion

Marta and her accommodations provided for an absolutely wonderful family reunion and a respite from the frustrations of Covid. The property is outstanding, and there were ample spaces for gathering and for the occasional quiet time. Absolutely everything is provided, and we took advantage of it all: swimming pool, ping pong, pool table, bikes, and beach chairs. We are already looking forward to our return in 2022.

Fabulous family vacation gem !

During our stay members of our group uttered every possible superlative regarding Marta’s rental properties. And even that doesn’t seem enough. Her responsiveness and attention to detail was far and above what we’ve experienced with other rentals, from the quality of the paper products, bath towels, beach towels, soaps, kitchen China, etc. So many charming whimsical touches, from wall decor to welcome basket, indoor and outdoor furnishings, even a bear sink carved from a tree with foot pedal in the pool house. Beautiful pool, several decks with gas grills and fire pits, beach toys, bikes, everything a large family like ours (ages 1yr to 70yrs) could ever use. Lake Michigan across the street, a charming town 3 blocks away…. But we rarely felt the need to leave her property. We can’t wait to return next year !

Absolute perfection

Absolute perfection. What sets this rental apart from any other is that it is like renting a home from your super cool aunt who is off jet-setting the world, but will let you borrow her fabulous lake house whenever you want because you are family. This is NOT one of those gross ikea furnished cash cows that is meant to be factory rented and is purely transactional. There is SO much love and detail in this home. It is beautifully furnished and each room tells a story. But it is really the fact that it feels like a HOME that makes it special. It checked every single box for us and we will now meet back here as a family every year, because we have at last found perfection.

I drove by this property and saw this gem with beautiful Lake Michigan views and access and decided to give it a new life.
Newly remodeled so every bedroom has attached bathroom, privacy and family fun complex. Added pool and pool house complex and patios and fenced it all in 2020-2021.

It is 2 lots connecting N. Shore Drive and Park Ave and has beautiful view across Packard Park of lake and beach. Easy access with no steps. Easy Stroll to downtown for dining,entertainment and shopping.
This house has 12" plaster walls, high ceilings, hardwood floors and now a wall of windows facing the Lake
