A great place to stay! We had a great time. It was perfect for our 5 adults and 3 kids. So many amenities and very convenient to the attractions.

Family Time

Condo meet out needs with 3 adults and 2 teenagers. The only problem was on 2nd floor but was ok. The AC worked well and showers had plenty and f hot water. The TV had good assortment of channels. Trash was picked up extremely regular.

Birthday wish to pass love of Williamsburg on to the next generation

Had a ‘small hiccup’ of a problem on arrival when we were initially told that our family would be split up on two different floors. Vrbo description led us to believe that 3 bedrooms would be together. This was dealt with fairly quick after a little discussion and the staff at check-in were understanding and helpful. The rooms we stayed were very clean and our balcony overlooked a pond with a lovely fountain. We especially enjoyed the tree frogs in the evening. The next generation loved our time there so hopefully we’ll be back again

Our stay

Place was great for kids. Checking in is time consuming and annoying. Takes forever. Two or 3 checkin people and 6 or 7 concierges wanting to sell you something but can’t check you in. Was promised a 2 bedroom with 3 beds and a 1 bedroom with a king. Got a 2 bedroom with 2 beds so the kids had to share a bed. Couldn’t stand going back to the front desk for another hour to get what we paid for. Was told check out was 11 on my contract but 10 by the front desk . Good place but certainly could be managed better

No more time-shares!

The was the first time I have rented a time-share and it will be the last!!! I contracted for a 3 bedroom condo that would sleep my family group of 8 people. Instead I got a 2 bedroom condo and a 1 bedroom condo on different floors. When we got to the condo complex, at our check-in time of 4PM, there was a huge line to check in and not enough staff to handle the number of people waiting. It took more than an hour. There were many problems with my check-in. The desk clerk could not find my reservation because, as it turned out, the owner of the condo was not the person whom I contracted with and my check-in date was different than what was listed on the paperwork. Eventually our reservation was found, after a long phone call to the person I had contracted with. And eventually, after I was required to make a damage deposit, we were able to check into our accommodations. (They also wanted to charge us a user fee, but they did forego that.) When I questioned the clerk about the availability of a 3 bedroom unit for our family group of 8, I found out was they did have 3 bedroom condos in the complex, but the arrangements were not made soon enough to get a 3 bedroom unit. Needless to say, I would not recommend this property manager. I was not informed that on top of the rental charge for the condo, I was going to have to give them a security deposit and a user fee. I feel that these charges should have been covered in the rental charge.

We are very sorry Ms Hanson was unhappy, she asked for a larger unit and an early check in. Due to her request for a larger unit, she was made aware at booking time that she would receive two separate units in order to fulfill her request. Unfortunately the resort did not put the units side by side, which we have no control over. We accommodated her by giving her an extra free night and a unit that was capable of sleeping up to ten people. As far as the security deposit it is standard at all resorts and is fully refundable at the end of the stay. In the future she should stay in private residences to avoid resort fees.

Kingsgate

Overall the stay was good, but the check in in process & reservation system was a total mess. We paid for 3 nights stay for 2 different suites. We had requested both suites be close to one another- at least in the same building or close by. Wyndham Kingsgate totally screwed up the check in for the 2br suite, saying the reservation was only for 1 br. It took us a few hours & persistence & contesting the owner of this booking to get things resolved. Finally, when they got us into a 2br suite like we paid for, we found ourselves totally across the community far away from our family members. While we were happy to get into a 2br suite that we paid for, this totally changed the dynamic of our trip. The grandkids could not walk easily to each suite, we could not do meals together without a drive. Huge bummer. Second strike was for the other 3br suite. Kingsgate said they had the 3br checking out a day earlier than we had paid for. They sent cleaning at 10am, and even locked us out of the rooms when we got back from Colonial Williamsburg at 3pm. It took over an hour & again more back & forth with the front desk to finally get back into our suite. They also cancelled all cards for both suites & more nonsense hassle that we had to deal with & get 12 new cards reissued. I’m not sure if this was the Kingsgate reservation systems fault, the way the reservation was booked through the owner of this listing, or user error of the Kingsgate staff. Either way, the whole booking & reservation process was a total disgrace. This was our 5th stay at the Kingsgate. Definitely the first time we had this many issues. The rooms are still decent- they definitely renovated the master bathrooms since our last stay. The rest of the suites could use a refresh... the carpet is really worn & old. But overall it was clean & nice. The community center & amenities are very good for a family.

We are so sorry you had some issues with your stay, after checking with the resort it appears that the issues were due to the fact that you used a name other than the one that you had booked under, it is very important to use the same name as the one the property was booked under or make the host aware before hand of any changes. We appreciate you choosing our property and hope you enjoyed the early check in and coplimentary extra day we provied.

Family Trip 2021

The condo/suite worked out very nice for us. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the pools, arcade and miniature golf. The grounds were lovely and well maintained. All in our group agreed, it was a very nice place.

This was a wonderful experience! We truly enjoyed our stay. JW Hawkins and his crew really rock!! Scheduled to arrive July 16, they called us to notify us that our booking will be upgraded! They upgraded our condo for no extra charge just to make sure we had a nice comfortable stay. We had a company of seven and everyone had a great experience. Clean condo with updated infrastructure. Will definitely refer JW Hawkins and his crew to my family and friends. Thanks.

Enjoyed Wyndham Kingsgate

We really enjoyed our time here. Family of 7 so the 3 bedroom 2 bath was perfect. We spent a lot of time at the pool and the staff and guests were very friendly. This was an easy way to try out a timeshare without the pressure. The property is well maintained and the unit was sufficiently provisioned. Yes, there is a $6 daily resort fee and $100 deposit. This wasn't a big deal for us.
