6 bedroom 4 bathroom house with bedding for 16. No pets, please. Conveniently located on Sugar Mtn. Drive only 1 mile from ski lodge. There is a ski shuttle pickup right outside the house!
Main level of the house contains a living room, large kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and three bathrooms.
Master bedroom with 1 king and 1 queen and a bathroom, 2nd bedroom with king bed and a bathroom, 3rd bedroom with 2 twin beds. Third upstairs bath is at the end of the hallway.
Downstairs, there is a smaller living room area, small kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. (Queen, full, 2 sets bunks) 1 hall bath and one half bath in a bedroom.
Security cameras are used outdoors in the front door and driveway areas.

Kitchen has pots and pans, dishes and silverware, small appliances. NO coffee is provided, but we are now stocking units with salt and pepper, and cooking oil.

Our family of 8 adults and 6 kids stayed in this very roomy house with lots of space to spread out. It's in a great location on Sugar Mtn and for a 6-bedroom house, was more affordable than any others with that many bedrooms. The house is older but had three really nice updated showers as well as the 1970's yellow toilet and tub in the master bedroom. The master had two king-sized beds, while two of the rooms had full-sized beds (it's listed as one queen but the couple that tried to sleep there ended with one on the floor because the bed was too small for them, so it seemed like it might have been a second full-size). It would be better if they would move one of the kings into the second upstairs bedroom because no couples are going to want to share a bedroom, yet most couples find a full-sized bed too small. We had a catastrophic leak with a pipe under the kitchen sink that dumped the dishwasher water all over the floor, so seven of us worked on cleaning up that mess at midnight and we had to hand-wash all dishes (for 14 people) for the next 2 1/2 days. But what nobody mentions in the reviews is that the house slants terribly. I don't mean a slight slope - I mean it's hard to walk upstairs without feeling like you're going to fall and for 3 days we were feeling it. We just hoped that the house has been checked by structural engineers and it's not in danger of sliding off the mountain. Despite all that, we had a really nice stay and the grandkids loved the bunk room.

Quirky layout but met our needs

Several maintenance issues but nothing we couldnā€™t tolerate..weā€™ve stayed in much nicer but the size and location were perfect.

Nice location, but dated home.

The property manager made every effort to provide a good experience. However, the home is very dated. The HVAC does not provide equal temperatures in the home. The downstairs bedrooms remained very warm and folks could not sleep. The lighting is dim, carpets are stained and the kitchen cabinets are filled with random items that may or may not be useful. There was black mold in the downstairs bathroom cabinet. It would be a great option if updated.

Property manager was great, property owner should step it up

This place was a great deal we'll prolly be here again. However, the I feel from the frigid first night our family suffered that the property owner should give more into this investment. Pros: * Great view. * Cost. * Close to sugar. Cons: * First night was forking cold. The owner seems to have override control of the thermostat. Understandable as guest might leave with windows open and thermo set at 85 degrees, but give the manager some access. My poor parents at 75 years olds from Florida thought they might freeze to death that first night at a nice, chill fridge temperature of 55 degrees. * Tons of Cheetos crumbs under the couches. We vacuumed them up and made do. If we had our dog, he would be pleased.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall it was a really fun stay. The management company is easy to work with. This house is big and is as advertised in the pictures. The mattresses could be more comfortable. The two king master suit is a weird setup but we made it work. We had 10 Adults and 4 kids. Make sure you buy salt to get up and down the driveway. They plow the roads fairly well but I highly recommend a 4x4 vehicle. You can walk to the slopes in 5 minutes. The walk back to the house is much harder though as it's up hill. The shuttle situation gets dicey on a busy weekend. The wait times on MLK weekend got up to 2 hours so we just shuttled our family to and from the slopes in a personal vehicle.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house can handle a big group well but the house is not well maintained or stocked. Broken vanity in bathroom, bedroom door broken through, gum on a headboard and kitchen with minimal glassware and random assortment of plates/dishes. Also, driveway wasn't plowed despite heavy snow.

Winter Weekend

Convenient to the slopes. Roomy and well set up for a group. Rental office staff responsive and helpful. Home is old and very dated. Kitchen supplies were old and insufficient for a the number of occupants advertised. Location and size make this a reantable property. If aesthetics are your thing, keep looking.

Roomy but worn out

There was plenty of room but the house needs updating. The stone stairs were broken and a safety hazard. The can opener was broken. Only one kitchen towel. Fake flowers covered in thick dust. But the managers were easy to reach and the location was great.

Lovely stay in the woods

I loved the decks on this property, it was right in the middle of the woods. Lovely home with plenty of room for us to sit and chat at the table, plus enough bedrooms for all of us. Property manager was super helpful and responsive. We even saw a deer on the hill right beside us!

The home is very comfortable.The only point I have to make is about the dust and cobwebs in the corners and ceilings. I pulled the chain on one of the fan/light fixtures and it happened to be the fan. The fan started moving and there was dust all over the room - the main living room. The ceilings can do with some dusting and cleaning to get rid of the cobwebs. I do understand that in these difficult times it may be hard to maintain a good workforce when business is not what it used be in the past. But dusting and such basic cleaning should probably be taken care of, regardless.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental experience was easy. The office staff is very nice and helpful. There were new mattresses in the bottom floor bedrooms. The house accommodates our group well. We did have a few glitches...We had to use a PLASTIC snow shovel to make the driveway partially accessible. Maybe a metal shovel would be better. Supposedly, the driveway had been scraped, but it was very icy. Finally, after dark, a man came and put down salt. This was only after one of our 4-wheel drive vehicles slid down the driveway into a tree, even though it was parked on a level parking spot. We did have trouble with 2 of the toilets. They would not completely flush, so we didnā€™t use them for an entire day. The plumber said they need to be replaced. The breaker was tripped, so we couldnā€™t use the upstairs microwave for an entire day. The breaker box should be accessible to renters and not locked in a closet. The silver lining to all the clouds above was that it snowed!! Our group was happy to ski on God-made snow!! ā„ļøDespite all the problems, we enjoyed our stay.

Older but nice enough

We stayed for a weekend of snow tubing and had a great time! The property was clean and comfortable but surprisingly old. Plenty of room but floors were slanted and uneven. The multiple bathrooms were not updated but functional. No toilet paper, paper towels, firewood, garbage removal or bathroom amenities (shampoo, etc) were provided. We still had a wonderful weekend but wished we had more information about what to bring.

Great place for large groups!

This is an older cabin with an unusual layout, but it's great for large groups and has a lower living area, so if the adults want to hang out upstairs and kids downstairs, they can. It also has a large upstairs family room. I would rent again!

Nice mountain escape

The house was big enough for the 16 people we had. Only problem was that it didnā€™t seem like they dusted in forever or vacuumed. I know that weā€™re in the mountains, but they were dead bugs and spiders everywhere. There were Cobb webs in places that the vacuum cleaner could take care of. The house had a funny smell, but luckily we brought Lysol spray. We had to open the windows to help air it out. Other than that everything else was plenty good. Looking for the house at first will be confusing. We passed it like two times.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Originally booked for attending the Scottish Games weekend but ended up being a nice family vacation. Living room very spacious and good sized kitchen(s). The one main complaint was the window of one of sliding doors urgently needs replacing. It was completely opaque and spoiled the view from the living room. Bed linens a bit worn. Not suitable for folks that have difficulty walking ie steep driveway and lots of stairs.
