Live like a local in a beautiful and charming newly remodeled Studio. Just 2.5 blocks to the sand at gorgeous family friendly Wind n Sea beach. Private yet close to all amenities.

Living and sleeping areas, 1 bathroom and a full kitchen. Room for 1-2 adults to sleep comfortably. Queen size bed with memory foam mattress in the bedroom. The studio also has a comfortable full sized sofa in the living room. Designated parking space. The studio is small, but feels very luxurious and larger than it is. It has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Sand Castle Hideaway is a very special place to stay!

Adorable private patio with shade sails for dining, relaxing and entertaining. BBQ, outdoor dining, cooks kitchen with stove for gourmet meals, washer and dryer. Dog Friendly.

The pictures made the rental look larger ... it truly is about 170 sq. ft.Upgrading the mattress and pillows would be helpful.Overall, it's workable as a place to stay and make your meals if you don't want to eat out all the time. However, you'll be eating while seating on the couch or standing.It has a nice location, a short walk to a beach, and a good launching point to all the sites in La Jolla, San Diego and beyond.

Small apartment a few blocks from Windandsea Beach, about a 10 minute walk. There is no view of the beach from the apartment. There is a small patio with a BBQ, table and chairs. Owner was very responsive. The BBQ was not lighting, so we contacted the owner and she replaced the BBQ. There is a full kitchen but no dishwasher. Remember to bring shampoo, soap and laundry detergent since only a starter supply is provided. There is a carport with 1 parking space for the apartment, which was very convenient. You will need to remove your shoes upon entering and sweep the apartment at least once a day since the area a very fine sand that is easily tracked onto the floor. The apartment is a great value that has all the necessities.

Love this room. The only thing I wish was a portable AC unit (maybe thats the east coast in me). A little thicker bed cushions would be nice too. This place is awesome!

Perfect cure and comfortable

Walking distance to beach. Easy navigation on foot or by car to shopping. Quiet the majority of time. I had everything I needed to cook if I wanted or just heat up food. It was just perfect and I hope to come back.

Nice little place - excellent location with very quick walk to the beach! It has all the basics. It is very cozy, but we were not inside much. The bed leaves a lot to be desired - it is low to the ground and not very comfortable - could probably be remedied with a new mattress. It got very hot by evening even with the doors open - windows are not screened - but a couple of fans helped. Overall it was a nice little place and the location very good.

Small apartment in good location

The apartment is very small which we expected from the listing. There’s windows but you can really only see sky from them. The patio doors onto the patio still don’t lock. I had read this in reviews from months and months ago and had hoped they would have been fixed. The patio area is very small and confined feeling. It’s pretty dirty and the furniture there is past its best. We didn’t use the outside area at all as it wasn’t pleasant in any way. The whole apartment needs a bit of attention. The bed frame needs tightened and there is a damp feeling from the flooring. That being said, we just used the apartment for sleeping and as a base for our time in San Diego. Location is really good as it’s only a couple of minutes walk from the beach which is great. Our experience was fine. We stayed for 13 nights which is probably too long in such a small space.

Nice Location close to Wind and Sea Beach

Kitchen is fully functional. Heat is via space heaters and cooling is via fans. Worked well in March. Layout is fine, cloths storage is near the bathroom and not the bedroom. That works fine. The washer and dryer worked well and overall no real issues.

This property was close to the beach and within walking distance of most restaurants. There was grocery and liquor stores 1/2 block away. The bus stop was also half a block away. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils etc. The bed was comfortable. However, there was no heat. They had a space heater but it had a hard time taking off the chill. As a consequence there was a slight musty smell that lingered in the background. The patio was also quite small and only received sun shine in the middle of the day. Overall I was happy with this space and it was clean and comfortable. Communication with the hosts was exceptional

Sandcastle hideaway

My stay here was great! Fast and easy communication with the host, and the unit was well kept. Great location too, just a quick walk to the beach. Only downside was the assigned parking spot being pretty tight. It was doable with my Tacoma, but a larger vehicle could be a real challenge.

Bad luck

Bed is not acceptable for sleep and spider web so they let us to stay different place like studio but same thing happened to bed squeezing sounds so had to leave 8days booking was nightmare. End up staying at the hotel

Small Retreat

Small, but has everything you need. Very clean. Parking spot is priceless in La Jolla. Sharon was always very responsive. Did not need anything after we arrived.
