If you’re looking for a piece full get away this is perfect. Relaxing place on a lake with a canoe to explore clean warm water with a dock like rock to swim off not to far out enjoying everything.

A beautiful location right on the water. As for the home itself, I think it's important to state that each of the two bedrooms have no ceiling. So, effectively the house is one large rectangle with just walls and a door dividing each of the bedrooms. For a family who is familiar, it's probably not an issue. But it may be a problem for whose wanting sound privacy. Also, I would add a coffee table in the living room. My BF objected to uneven floors, but I barely noticed them. Morning coffee on the small side deck was lovely. We enjoyed the canoe, which seemed brand new.

The host was hardly involved with the entire rental and process. Texts I sent with questions regarding the rental were vague and she referred me to VRBO for answers. I asked for a phone number to contact her in case of emergency and never got a response. I have rented many homes through VRBO and other rental sites and have always been able to interact with the host before and during my stays. The cottage was adequate and relatively clean. The light colored couch was full of stains and the throw pillows were shabby looking. The location of the cottage was great and it was a beautiful spot on the lake. I believe it was overpriced for what it was and the time of year, being after labor day. We wouldn't stay there again.

The cabin has a nice view of the lake, it was clean, there is AC in the main living area and a fan in every room. A television with cable in every room. I don't think we turned on the TV. The kitchen had every convenience a traveler would need as well as a washer and dryer. Picnic table and grill with patio in the back of the camp. Be prepared to bring your own coffee, cream and sugar. Camp has salt and pepper that's it. The bedrooms are very small, two people might find it uncomfortable to sleep in one bed. The bathroom is small. I would suggest to the host a simple table for the front of the camp or chairs with cup holders. The camp is surrounded by other camps so there isn't a lot of privacy but the neighbors are very friendly. Overall, positive experience we actually added an extra day.

We had such a wonderful week at the cottage! It was very comfortable, clean and well stocked. Having Branch Lake a few steps from the house was amazing. We swam and canoed several days and explored Ellsworth, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Of course, we couldn’t miss the popovers at the Jordan Pond House. We loved the cottage (as well as Maggie from next door) and hope to return.

Beautiful Lakefront Close to Acadia

We used the cabin as a home base to explore Acadia while having a fun and beautiful place to come back and see the sunsets and sunrises on the water. The little heater was enough to keep us warm during the chilly fall week we were there. Was a great spot for the two of us!

The lake is beautiful, however, the cottage is in poor condition. The entire cottage, especially the back deck slopes to one side. Upon arrival, we couldn’t open the back door but did notify the owner who came over promptly and picked up on the door to open it. There was a hornets nest in the eaves on the back deck. The private dock was very rickety and should be replaced before someone gets hurt. The outlet where the coffee machine is plugged in has separated from the wall and is dangerous. There were termite eggs in the window pane in living room. Some of the blinds were broken. Cleaning supplies (many duplicate products) filled the under sink cabinet in the bathroom leaving no room to store personal toiletries. The ceiling fan in one bedroom didn’t work and when pointed out to the owner, he stated he had never used it. I truly hope the owners address the condition of the cottage as it sits on a gorgeous lake in a beautiful area of Maine.

Autumn get away

We rents this property to be able to visit Acadia and not have to pay too much. It was a perfect weekend. Cabin was as advertised. Very clean. Magnificent view of the lake!

An incredibly underrated gem

I stayed for a long 4th of July weekend with my parents and my husband. My husband immediately jumped into the beautiful lake for a swim, and we used the grill for bbq every night - it was fantastic. The vibes were perfect.

It was so relaxing. ..

It was a nice small cottage with a canoe which was perfect for my cousin and I. We went to Acadia National Park and Whale watching. My only request is to make sure there is at least two rolls of toilet paper in the house.

Weekend getaway

Stayed Friday to Monday. The place was great!! Plenty of room for 4 adults. Kitchen had enough space to prepare meals. Living area works well for watching movies and playing board games. The best part is the view of the lake and fall foliage was beautiful!! Definitely recommend staying at this cabin on Branch Lakr. Thank you!!

Ahh..!

Shelley’s little cottage was the best spot for our getaway! Clean, cozy, rustic-remodel, right on the lake. Quiet & respectful adult neighbors. Just enough supplies provided inside to allow us to pack less. Perfectly situated to spend a relaxing time on the lake or as a base to go exploring. We’d go back in a heartbeat!

View looking over lake was what really made the stay tops. Could have spent the whole week in the cabin or on the lake. Just too much to do in the area. Our first time here. This place was very clean. Kitchen well stocked. Could've used a table at the windows over looking the lake. The floor in living room slopes little and door & couple windows stuck. The bathroom is small with some issues but to be re-done soon. Overall.....loved it.

Wish we could have contacted the host. One sleepless night because of air in the pipes. No way to turn off the water at the toilet which kept running. No water shut offs in the bathroom at all. Manually repositioning the broken flapper in the toilet after each flush was the work around. I'm sure water leaks into the sub floor because of the broken shower base.Great peaceful location. Appliances where great. Quaint cabin. In a beautiful area.

Cozy, comfortable cottage

The cottage by the lake is a quaint little cabin along a peaceful serene lake with a wonderful view. Definitely not the biggest or fanciest place but a wonderful quiet place surrounded by the beauty of Maine. Far enough away from the tourist traps of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Forest but yet close enough to go should you desire to be with people (yuck!) Nice accommodations with comfortable furnishings. Everything worked as expected with no issues. The communication with the owner was outstanding, fast and accurate. We would stay again.

Outside and lake area was beautiful. Inside of cottage needs work. Main air conditioning did not work. Window unit couldn’t keep up. We had a dog with and during the day it was 86 in the house and only got down to 78 during the night. Tough to sleep in the heat. Plastic shower base is cracked and feels unsafe. Simple things need replacing. Only one light bulb out of three in the bathroom worked. Toaster was broken. Kitchen plates and utensils were cheapest possible quality. Could go on but no need.
