This was the perfect little spot to experience all things Old San Juan, it was cute, clean and had everything we needed. The balcony was lovely for a morning cup of coffee or just to see the sights and sounds of the city from a different view. It was a great location as well! Would definitely stay here again.

We cooked quiet a bit and enjoyed the kitchen. We loved the balcony and view. Great location. Super close to coffee shops, restaurants, bars and all the great tourist attractions (the forts, the ocean etc.) One of our favorite vacations.

The apartment was a great home base for our stay in Old San Juan. The location was super convenient and despite the cautions it was pretty quiet at night. There is a small market nearby and plenty of restaurants, bars, and shopping. The square across the street was lovely and it made the balcony a nice spot to relax in the morning and at the end of the day. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was outstanding. The balcony is a bit tight, but typical for the area. Highly recommend this apartment!

Good 2 go in Puerto Rico

Everything was amazing, the place was clean and in the center of the city, we heard the music, spoke with the locals and just had a good time overall. The place was bigger than we thought it would be and it’s in walking distance from just about anything you’ll need

Overall we had a great stay at Balcony Suite! The location is incredible, with great walking access to everything in Old San Juan. It is actually on one of the quieter parts of town, and we had no issues sleeping with the help of the earplugs provided. The noise is part of the charm of the location and was great for late dinners and coming back from nightlife. The host was super accommodating and responsive to anything that came up. When we thought we might have to stay longer due to PR airspace closures, they were helpful and understanding. It was a clean and comfortable stay and we would definitely return.

Great location!

This was an excellent place to stay due to the location. It was nice to be across from the church and the park, and was relatively quiet. Felt very safe. The apartment was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again!

Quaint and Updated

Property was clean and perfect for my weekend in Puerto Rico. It was central to most activities planned and had great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again!

Just a Lovely Spot

Perfect size. Perfect location to people watch from the balcony. Super clean. Located a few blocks from the main square and right in the center of restaurants and bars. Thanks so much for a wonderful time.

Great stay in the heart of Old San Juan! Balcony view was amazing. Day 2, elevator was broken but stairs were right there, not a big deal to us. Kitchen area was big and had all the amenities one would need. King size bed was very nice with a good size TV mounted on the wall. Good watching experience right from the bed, which we enjoyed. Close to restaurants, shops, church and park. Parking for rental car was 4 blocks away which worked well. Hosted explained everything very well which made it easy.

Great location

Location was excellent and we had everything we needed. Neighbors in room across the hall was extremely noisy and all the doors slam shut so it was rough sleeping. But the outside noise is quiet during sleeping hours.

A most wonderful, safe, friendly, and clean city. Absolutely wonderful place to stay. You can walk everywhere. The only thing was the humidity. The A/C was cool and comfortable, but could not keep the place dry. But I heard that is common in PR. We loved our stay!!!!

Perfect for two

This property was perfect for my husband and me. The location is right in the heart of Old San Juan making it easy to walk anywhere we wanted. The balcony overlooks the plaza in front of the University and there is a church right across the street. It was clean and nicely decorated. The only issue we had was there is a large steel plate in the road out front that bangs every time a car drives over it. Ear plugs for sleeping are recommended!

Walking distance to things but not super clean

Great location for touring. Close to restaurants, bars, and beach. Pillows on the bed and couch were dirty. The floor was dirty when we arrived as well. The shower is small with low water pressure. The balcony door is difficult to open and close and needs repairs. Overall it was an ok stay. The location was so convenient so that helped alot.

Central location + a few disclaimers

The location is very central which is nice. So close to everything in Viejo San Juan. Be aware of noise when staying here, especially on the weekend when you can hear the motorcycles “being cool” by seeing how loud they can rev their engines and also some people. The balcony is nice just be aware you’re not near water but across from a plaza and church. The space is also very humid so keep in mind that your clothes and the bed will feel damp even if there was no water involved. The space is spacious so great for more than one person especially with a mini living room and kitchen.

Great experience!

Great experience all the way around! The apartment is just as described and in the perfect location for exploring Old San Juan. Very easy check in/access to the apartment. The apartment is quite spacious and we loved our stay. Wilfred was an excellent host, very friendly, while we were there for the week. Sometimes, it's the little things that stand out and make a stay more enjoyable. For example, fresh water in the fridge when we arrived, as well as plenty of coffee to get us through a few days. The towels in the bathroom were lovely and the hair dyers is one of the best I've ever used :) My husband and I really enjoyed Old San Juan and hope to be back. We would highly recommend this apartment if you want to immerse yourself in the culture of Puerto Rico :)

No AC

Night before check out, came back from being out all day an AC not working. Apt was hot and very humid. All clothing and bedding was damp. Reported, all they ask was at what time we noticed, told them but no one came to fix it. Left the next morning as soon as we got ready. We have used VRBO hundreds of times w/o issues.

The apartment was in a nice location in Old San Juan that allowed for easy access to the attractions of the neighborhood. The balcony was a nice way to spend the mornings and evenings before bed. Plenty of space. Some critiques of the apartment was that it was dusty and the shower was very finicky and difficult to understand. The shower would either be scalding hot or freezing cold with little in between or direction. The bathroom shower also had no place to store toiletries. Also there was a smart TV available but none of the streaming services were available for use.

Basic, musty & impersonal, but in a great location

There’s a management company that runs these properties, so communication from them is less personable than with a host or staff at a hotel, in contrast. As I see it, little incentive to be good hosts beyond providing the basics. They emphasized their policy regarding bedding and towels, stressing that they would charge hefty replacement fees for anything that gets stained or ruined. We were surprised to find the quality of the bedding to be horrendous… seems that by deterring anyone from ruining the sheets, they’ve gotten away with not replacing them for years despite clearly needing to. The sheets were so scratchy with pilling that we couldn’t sleep on them. We requested a replacement and for two days were promised they’d be delivered, but they weren’t. When we first walked into the apartment we were struck with the intense smell of musty dampness. Like an old basement. It’s still in our clothing. Not all apartments in OSJ smell like this, despite the humidity outside. This is a mildewy lack of aeration issue. Seems like neglect. The shower temperature kept fluctuating between cold and scolding hot water. The location was great! And the balcony overlooking the courtyard of the church and university across the street was lovely. For the price, you could stay in a hostel nearby with better amenities and a more attentive staff. Or a vacation rental that is run by the actual owners who are invested in hosting and take pride in the property they won.

PR vacation

Stay was nice and no problems with company management and wouldn’t have an issue with using them again. Booking gets 4 stars due to cleanliness of the floors and amount of ants in the room.
