Pictures cannot do this gem of a cottage justice. lovely, secluded detached with . It is one of seven cottages on this 4 acre estate. Trehill Cottages in Callington, SE Cornwall is a small development of lakeside cottages with Hot tub (extra charge of £50 per week or £40 for a short break applies), wifi, fishing, on-site facilities, leisure club membership (facilities charges apply) and much more!

Our two fishing ponds are a major attraction. These are private ponds with only guests being able to fish. This keeps them in great condition and means there are always plenty of spots available. Stocked fish include Carp, Mirror Carp and Tench. Top fish weight is about 17lbs

Lilliput also makes a great base for our golf breaks being close to China Fleet or St Mellion’s two championship golf courses.

Being on one level, it is particularly accessible for the less mobile

There is a large living room with glazed brick walls leading out into the large vaulted conservatory with private terrace . It is a perfect place to cook a barbecue or relax with a book or a glass of wine. There are two a good-sized bedrooms. Both have en-suite shower rooms.

Facilities: king sized bed in main bedroom, King or twin in bedroom 2, Ample wardrobes, Colour TV, and fast wifi. Microwave, Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Full central heating, Fridge, Tumble drier on site, Bed linen electricity and heating included. Large garden. Cot available on request,- Free broadband internet access. Sorry but we cannot accept pets and smoking is not allowed inside the cottages.

Games room - refurbished in 2021 with indoor and outdoor table tennis, Pool table, air hockey & table football. All free to use.

Outdoor pool - is shared with the other three cottages at Trehill cottages, as well as the three neighbouring Long Barn cottages.

Excellent stay

We had a fantastic time staying at Lilliput Cottage. Frances and Neville were excellent hosts and very responsive. The grounds are brilliant for families with a great shallow swimming pool, games room, outdoor table tennis, the lake, a donkey that you can feed and a very nice playground area. The location was very good for visiting north Cornwall and we made good use of the China Fleet membership offer. The shared pool operates with a booking system and it’s actually the best way to run it. You can use the pool area for up to two hours per day, which is actually plenty, and you have it to yourselves during that time. Frances and Neville were incredibly flexible with that as well. The hot tub was another highlight. Inside, the cottage was very comfortable. We didn’t use the conservatory very much but there was plenty of space in the cottage and the beds were comfortable. There was also a nice outdoor dining area, which we made good use of. We really enjoyed our stay and we’re very grateful to Frances and Neville for their hospitality.

Lilliput Cottage 2022

Nice country location outside Callington and good facilities. Felt that the Lilliput cottage could do with an update..... The double bad was very soft and bowed in the middle so my husband and I slept terribly until we swap with the kids on 2 singles 😔. The 3 seater sofa was also very uncomfortable. The cottage was cleaned well but things like the showers are starting to go mouldy. The kettle leaked and the toilet seat lid kept falling off. Neither of the bathroom vanity lights worked so neither did the charging points for toothbrushes. The floor in the conservatory had swelled and started to raise up. The owners did live on site but didn't seem approachable 🤷🏼‍♀️ the lady owner dropped off something we ordered and scuttled away too quickly to engage in conversation. Also a little bit peturbed that the hot tub was an extra cost (I understand they need notice to get it prepared, but the extra £35 a week seemed excessive and we haven't had to pay a supplement at other places) As for fixtures & fittings, there was just about enough cooking essentials to get by 👍🏻. The place had a bit of a tired, unloved appearance to it and sadly not what we'd expected from the pictures. Also no visitor book so couldn't draw on the experience of others about places to go and things to see, which we always find helpful.

We understand it is always very difficult when you book a (2 week) holiday and members of your family are ill for pretty much the entire time. Who wouldn't be frustrated at having to spend all your time indoors in a strange home. Minor imperfections will seem exaggerated and we get that. Nevertheless, we feel that many of the above comments are somewhat unfounded. Lilliput was completely redecorated in 2021 and we believe it still presents very well. The mattress has been commented on as being comfortable by many guests, but again, we do understand that soft and hard mattresses are very much a personal thing. There were indeed a few spots of mould on the showers and we apologise for that. They have now been dealt with. Kettle and Toilet seat. We do live close by, and if we had been informed of these, they would have been fixed / replaced immediately. We cannot fix what we do not know about. The toilet seat simply needed tightening and took 30 seconds to fix when we picked it up on their departure. Ditto vanity lights. Hot tub - when you visit a cottage with a hot tub, you are paying for it either in the price or as an added extra. We have chosen the latter as we do not sea why (the 40% of) guests who do not want one, should have to pay for it. IN addition there is the environmental cost. Heating water to bath temperature requires energy and this means higher emissions. By only heating the hot tub for guests who wish to use it, we calculate that this simple change saves just under a tonne of CO2 being emitted into the atmosphere each year. We make no apologies for the extra charge on that basis alone. We love hot tubs and think for many people they are n luxury which can really make a holiday. But we try and operate them responsibly. This means keeping them clean (highly chemically intensive) and limiting their carbon footprint. Finally, if we seemed "unapproachable" we apologise for that. We leave guests to enjoy themselves but if something goes wrong we are always happy to help.

Lovely quaint house

Lovely location , plenty to see and do locally . Trip to Golitha falls well worth a trip just bring good walking boots or wellies. Hot tub small but perfect for 2 adults and 1 child and the house is in a beautiful quiet location.

Lilliput cottage, Callington, Cornwall

My friends and I stayed in Lilliput cottage. We found the location easily which was near to the local town and were very pleased with our home for the week. The cottage was lovely and clean, big enough for the four of us to relax in to enjoy comfortably. The hot tub at the rear of the Cottage was great, we managed to fit the four of us in to it! The pool was just to the front of the property which was lovely too. Could have been a little deeper for us adults but ideal for younger children. The Owners were very helpful and friendly. The situation of the cottage was lovely with the small lake behind it, with the very friendly donkey, Snowy, to say hello to each day. She liked having her back scratched and fed with apples, strawberries, carrots and greenery from the nearby bush! 😂 I can thoroughly recommend this cottage for a very memorable stay in Cornwall.

Fabulous Staycation

Frances and Neville ensured we had a great time despite the challenges they are facing with COVID-19 They had put in measures under the government guidance and when I sought reassurance they provided. Great location, great property and the Fishing lake And added bonus. All round a great time. Thank you! X

perfect getaway

Enjoyed our stay very much. Lovely cottage right by the (heated) outdoor pool. Just a short 30 second stroll to the fishing ponds. China Fleet memberships are a real bonus. It is a bit of a drive, but well worth it

Lovely cottage - much nicer than pics

Superb location and a very pleasant cottage. This was so much better than we were expecting. Very warm in spite of cold weather. The hot tub was just out back and this cottage is set away from the others so feels much more private. China Fleet club is worth the drive. Great gym & spa.

Great stay with family

Just a great stay, thank you so much! Enjoyed Lilliput becasue it is a bit away from the other holiday cottages so better privacy. Right by the outdoor pool & had its own hot tub. The added lounge is brill with kids. They can watch TV while we just close the glass sliding door (so we can still keep an eye out) and enjoy a peaceful glass of wine. Grounds are lovely and snowy the donkey became a real friend during our week there.

Very nice cottage with excellent facilities

Very pleasant cottage with evrything you might need. The added bonus of a second lounge / conservatory makes it especially handy if travelling with kids. Enjoyed hot tub and the China fleet club. Fishing was superb. cannot be faulted
