Askaway Retreat: Hot Tub I Close to Downtown I Dog Friendly

Askaway Retreat (formerly Piece of Paradise under same ownership) is a cozy and modern cabin, located conveniently in the heart of the Aska Adventure Area and just 5 miles to downtown! This cabin boasts fully updated furnishings and ample amenities. Enjoy the spectacular long-range views from the spacious deck, or cozy up next to the outdoor wood-burning fireplace. The upper-level master bedroom is luxuriously appointed with a king-sized bed, TV and a private full bath. The main-level bedroom has a queen-sized bed and is located directly across the hall from a full bath. The lower-level bedroom is outfitted with twin bunk beds and is situated opposite the third full bath.

The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator, dishwasher, gas range and oven, microwave, traditional coffeemaker, toaster, blender, and all necessary dish-ware, cookware and utensils. The dining table seats six comfortably along with a breakfast bar providing additional seating for four.

There are two sets of full-sized washers and dryers located on the main and lower levels.

On the lower-lever, there is a second family room, equipped with an electronic air hockey table, shuffleboard table, board games, and puzzles. A 55-inch TV adorns the stone fireplace with gas logs.

Stay connected using fiberoptic Internet via whole-home WiFi.

Firewood is provided for all guests.

There is a gas grill located on the back deck. Although there are two tanks available, we do not guarantee either tank is filled at time of arrival.

PLEASE NOTE:
We cannot be responsible for weather related and/or personal emergency issues affecting travel. All guests are encouraged to obtain travel insurance.

We do require all dog owners to pay a non-refundable $175 dog fee at the time of booking. We also ask that you sign our dog addendum which will be sent to you after your booking confirmation.

Additionally, there is a Ring doorbell, which records video, installed at the front door of the cabin. There is also an Echo Show in the kitchen for the convenience of guests and is not set up for home monitoring. Guests are welcome to turn off/on the Do Not Disturb feature, or unplug the device should they choose. The Echo Show is connected to the Sonos system and the doorbell.

We stayed here during Christmas week and it was the perfect trip. The cabin was even better than the pictures. It was clean and stocked with anything you would need. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and outdoor fireplace. My kids loved playing downstairs in the game room. They have a good selection of board/card games as well. We loved that we were able to bring our dogs with us and they had a great time exploring nearby hiking trails. Overall I highly recommend staying here with your family. You won’t regret it!

Hands down a fab cabin

A beautiful cabin, location very close to downtown Blue Ridge! The cabin had literally everything you needed to have a wonderful relaxing time in the mountains! Would definitely rent this place again and highly recommend you doing as well

Great stay in Blue Ridge

The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The location is close to the main road but feels very removed. The host provided excellent communication as well.

Perfect!

The cabin was beautiful and so peaceful. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, the furniture and décor were beautiful, and the beds were extremely comfortable. It was a very relaxing stay and I will definitely be staying again! The owner responded to our calls right away which was awesome!

Long Weekend

We LOVED this property. We are constantly on the go at home. This property gave us all the comforts to be lazy and enjoy a long weekend doing nothing. It has everything you need without leaving the cabin. We will most definitely be back to stay in this cabin again!

Beautiful cabin

My boyfriend and I have come to Blue Ridge for the last 7 years and have stayed in numerous cabins. This cabin definitely ranks in the top of all of our stays. The cabin was very clean, well appointed, lovely decor and amazing out door fireplace. A quick 13-14 minute drive to downtown Blue Ridge made it perfect for our trip! We will definitely return to this lovely cabin! 🍁🍂🔥

Great property....but

Location was great, property agent was easily accessible. However, the interior of the cabin was not clean, there were dead scorpions under furniture, couch was very dirty, and there was a mouse inside the walls that apparently was making a nest all day and night during the stay. Housekeeping crew needs to do a better job and not simply surface clean.

Just what my soul needed

Staying at this property was just what my friend and I needed. The home is so nice and spacious. You feel like its just you and nature. The owners were wonderful to book with and provide all information upfront. They are also very easy to communicate with. The home has everything you need and more to either stay busy or just relax. We enjoyed the game room, the puzzles and especially the view. I look forward to renting this property again!

Amazing view close to downtown Blue Ridge

We had a great time for a girl's weekend with 2 small pups. The views are incredible and the property is beautiful. The home is well stocked with everything you could need with attention to small details. Partially gravel roads on the way up but easy to navigate once I got the hang of it. Liked the additional safety of being in a private gated community. Only about 12 minutes to downtown Blue Ridge. There is a new community dog park near by which was beautiful and well maintained. Would highly recommend to all.

Wonderful week!

Our group of 4 adults loved this house, the deck, and the location. We hiked, kayaked, and enjoyed the deck/hot tub. Especially loved the deck….we had a couple of chilly, rainy days but with plenty of firewood and good books, the rainy days were almost our favorite days! The house is great for movie-watching with plenty of blankets, great showers with super soft towels and very comfortable beds (found ourselves sleeping later than we ever do!) . Blue Ridge is a really cute town with great shops. We mostly cooked at home but we loved Carrolls BBQ and Grumpy Old Men Brewery. Can’t wait to come back to this beautiful cabin and part of of the world. Thank you to our super responsive and wonderful hosts!

Perfect spot for a family trip!

We stayed at Askaway Retreat over the Fourth of July and had such a blast. Our group included my children and in laws and the layout of the cabin worked perfectly for a mixed group with bedrooms on each of the three floors. The cabin was very comfortable and well appointed. The beds were super comfortable and there was plenty of seating in the dining, living areas, and basement. The kids loved the air hockey table and we enjoyed all the puzzles and books stocked at the cabin. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and cooking utensils. The wifi signal is strong and the HVAC system kept us all comfortable. The cabin is tucked away off Aska road in a quiet neighborhood but easily accessible to downtown Blue Ridge and lots of hiking and outdoor adventure areas. Devon was super accessible and responsive during the booking and planning process and while we were there. When we arrived, one of the smoke detectors was beeping and Devon immediately had someone out to replace the whole unit on a Saturday. We loved the area so much we’re already planning a return visit in the fall!

Great cabin and owners!

We stayed over Christmas 2022, during the arctic blast and it was cold!! Cabin was very nice and well stocked and just 3 or 4 miles from downtown. Over the coldest night, the heat on the main level went out. We still had heat in the basement, and we had the wood fire on the main level, so we didn’t freeze. The owners were absolutely fantastic! Tommy drove up from Atlanta the next morning (Christmas Eve) and brought us several space heaters in case they couldn’t get the heat going. Their HVAC guy was buried trying to respond to emergencies, but he told Tommy what was probably the problem. Turned out the condensate drain was frozen. Tommy was able to thaw it out and get the heat working again. We were very thankful to be dealing with such great owners. I would highly recommend this cabin and Devon and Tommy!!

Perfect location and home

The Perfect Family Mountain Getaway

This property was exactly what we were looking for. We were road tripping from Chicago to FL and wanted to break up the trip with a week in the mountains. This property was perfect for our family which includes a 4yr old, 7yr old and our dog. It was private, in excellent condition, extremely clean and well kept and only 10min from town. The wifi worked perfectly, cell reception as excellent and there was plenty of space for the kids to run around and play. Some highlights included a nightly fire on the amazing deck, nightly owl calling (we got a few to show up and hoot at us every night using a blue tooth speaker), morning hikes on the Aska trails which are also 10min away, a soak in the hot tub upon returning from our hikes and a day on the lake in a pontoon boat. In sum, this is exactly what you are looking for! Whether it's a small/large family or even 2 couples - this property is ideal and checks 99% of the boxes. I hope everyone get's to enjoy a mountain experience like this in their lifetime, it was fantastic.

A wonderful time in Blueridge.

The cabin was spacious with an incredible view. The small touches were over the top amazing. The basement was a family favorite with an air hockey table and shuffle board. The deck was the highlight, so spacious with a great hot tub and a gazebo of sorts with with a fire place. We loved everything about this property and will definitely be back. And the owner was so helpful and glad to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend this property.

Excellent!

We had a great time and the cabin was fantastic. We especially loved the gated deck so our dog could enjoy the outdoors with us without us worrying that she would get out. The cabin is well stocked - especially with games and puzzles for all ages.

Quick Getaway

We had an amazing time at the house, it was well appointed for everything we could possibly need. The outside living area is fantastic, especially the outdoor fire place. All of the beds and bedrooms were super comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Thanksgiving Getaway!

My family had an amazing time during Thanksgiving at this cabin. Very clean and well stocked with things you may have forgotten to bring. The bed upstairs is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! And they supply the best towels. All question prior to travel were quickly answered. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.
