No animal please due to severe allergies. It was our own home. We love every minute of it. Long story but we bought a new home. Our beloved lake home is now yours to enjoy while you are our Guests. Come enjoy the breath taking view and fresh breeze from the lake, while having food and the children either swimming, fishing, kayaking, boating, or just simply running in the spacious yard with abundant and gorgeous flowers. Our Guests have called it Spectacular, Amazing, Mini-Burchard Garden.. To sum it all, our Guests repeatedly stating "We are sad to leave".

1 Master Bedroom with King size bed, 1 walk in closet, 1 Him closet, 2 sink - shower and toilet master bathroom.

1 Large Bedroom with 2 Twin Beds

The host is wonderful and accommodating, typically responds in a short amount of time. The house is well stocked with everything you could need. The view is gorgeous, the outdoors are very nice. The only drawbacks are the heat and cooling sources. It was a little challenging to regulate temperatures. But I would recommend this property. I think it was a good price.

Nice location, pleasant home

Overall very pleasant stay. Great location on Steel Lake with nice views. House is older but clean and comfortable. Some outlets in main bedroom arenā€™t functioning, and heating system took some getting used to. Kitchen appliances all worked great.

Clean with wonderful lake views

This home was clean and we very much enjoyed sitting on the deck looking at the lake. The master bed was comfortable, there was plenty of toilet paper, and I generally found whatever I needed in the kitchen. Kathy was professional and responded quickly to communication. We would stay here again.

Beautiful lakeview

Kathy great host! Responsive. Grandsons enjoyed the paddle boats on the lake even in winter! This is an older home but has been refurbished very very nice. Except no dishwasher there was a hose that was in the way at the sink due to no dishwasher. We came from Arizona to visit. So was a little cold for us and heating issues.But the no stairs was a real plus! Hope to visit during Summer season sometime! Thanks Kathy!

Comfortable beds Quiet neighborhood nice view of the lake Good location for our needs

Overall good stay Short on washcloths there were only 3 washcloths for 3 people for a week. The number one issue was the ac was a heat pump. It was very hot in Seattle the entire week The unit hanging in the living room mostly just cooled the living room. The house was 85 degrees when we arrived and it took 24 hours to cool it down. The bedrooms were not cool as we set up fans to push cool air back to the bedrooms. Therefore we did not sleep well . We were only in the place at nighttime since we were visiting with family every day The ac was the most important request we had for our stay there. Overall acceptable

Nice view and patio

We rented the property for the view it offered from the patio-balcony. It was beautiful however that was the only part that was special. The home is old and the kitchen is only lightly stocked with essentials. No coffee (I know not required but often thereā€™s something) , no extra blankets, no extra pillows, lots of signs around the house of what not to do, twin beds had short blankets that seemed children size. My co-workers were very uncomfortable and we had to steal a pillow from the king bed because one of the twin beds didnā€™t have one. I travel a lot and have stayed in many rental homes. I felt very unwelcome with all the signs posted in the house. Kathy was friendly in her text and responded quickly, however, if I would have known there were so many rules, I wouldnā€™t have rented.

Beware of upcharging

First, this property has a great view. That was the best thing about it. It is listed as a two bedroom two bath, but the stated price only allows use of one bathroom. It is another charge to access and use the second bathroom. When I reserved the property in Aug, I stated that two people would be staying there And the reason for my trip was to cook Thanksgiving dinner for my adult children. Two days before check in, the owner contacted me and said that if any more than two people were at the house, there was an additional charge for each person even if they were not sleeping there. Even if they were just there for dinner! When I arrived the key was not in place and I had to call the owner. She was apologetic saying she had confused the dates. There were no bath mats in either bathroom. There were not 7 place settings of flatware, so I had to buy some. There was a large dining table, but no chairs. The refrigerator quit working which we discovered the last morning. Everything in the refrigerator and freezer had to be thrown out. This house has a great view. But I wouldnā€™t rent it again.

Seattle Vacation

The VRBO condo was exactly as promised. It is large, clean, and has a view of Steel lake through large picture windows. The patio deck was large and had a table with chairs with an unobstructed view of the lake. The owner was very nice and very responsive. After just a few days, we already considered her more as a as a friend than an owner. Without question, we would stay there again.

Relaxing at the lake

We loved our time at this rental! It was a lovely home, a beautiful lake, and gardens! We so enjoyed spending time on the porch playing games and catching up while having such a beautiful view of the lake! A great place to gather! Lots of places for people to relax and enjoy! The owner was super nice and always so quick to respond if we had a question! Nice surrounding area too! Conveniences very near by. Planes are above, but we found out they are everywhere in the Tacoma area. Such is Seattle they say šŸ˜„ Only suggestion would be to know particulars about perks like campfires (some area rules or restrictions) and info on shared lake equipment, rules before renting. Which would be the case on any rental really. Weā€™d definitely stay here again!

Garden lake house

Hidden gem in Federal Way looking over Steel Lake. Spacious and clean and well-equipped. Our host was super-responsive. The diverse gardens really enhanced the property. We hope to return!

Nice home

Overall a great vacation home. Easy check in, great communication, comfy beds and plenty of hot water for showers, fast WiFi and a nice outdoor area to enjoy the view of the lake. Nice park close by with a nice playground for young kids.

Disability discrimination

We booked this property 3 months in advanced. We told her of the fatal disease my grandson has. I haven't seen my family in 5 years because I'm a registered nurse and been battling COVID with patients. On the afternoon of our check in the owner canceled our reservation because she didn't want a service dog there. It's against the law to discriminate against the disabled and she did it once by denying us what we needed. She violated our rights and then terminated the reservation 2 hours before check in. We flew in for this vacation and was stranded. We will be seeking full refund and our disability rights attorney will be getting involved. We are a hardworking decent family and we were treated like garbage.

Fine Lake House

Fine house with a nice view of the lake and all the amenities listed. Kathy was very communicative. A few things folks might want to know -- The lake has a lot of lake weed so while the boating was nice, swimming from the house is not great. (We walked / kayaked to the public beach, which was nicer, but less convenient.) --Even though it was pretty hot while we there, it did not get too hot inside. -- Kitchen has all the basics, but pans were mostly scratched-up teflon --We found the queen bed to be excessively soft. --Living room light was quite bright/harsh for evenings. (Sunroom light was warmer, but made a whining noise.)

Relaxation, lovely setting

We had a great time at this home. It was so peaceful and beautiful on the lake. The home was well equipped, making it easy to relax and enjoy our time. Hoping to return in the future. Also, there are several restaurants only 5 minutes away, so take out was easy.

Beautiful, comfortable home on peaceful lake

This lake front home was beyond our expectations. It was clean, comfortable, roomy, with a fully equipped kitchen, lots of windows with beautiful views and a deck overlooking the lake. The views never get old and it was so peaceful to just sit on the deck and watch the ducks, geese and turtles in the lake and eagles flying overhead. The beautifully landscaped yard overflowing with flowers was breathtaking. The bed was very comfortable, there were plenty of towels and all appliances were clean and in working order. The location is great, close to shopping and restaurants and Kathy, the owner, could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Check-in was easy and when we had questions she was always quick to reply.. My husband and I were so happy to find this home for our stay and hope to return and will definitely stay here again. Thank you Kathy for sharing your beautiful home.
