Enjoy your stay in the historical part of Montpellier with this freshly renovated and fully equipped flat.
The flat has a fantastic view on one of the most prestigious historical squares of Montpellier, with the Saint-Pierre Cathedral and Ecole de Médecine. From there you will be anywhere in the Ecusson, the historical center of the city, in less than 5 minutes.
This 80 square meter duplex has two bedrooms with aircons:
- 1bedroom with king-size bed and cathedral view,
- 1bedroom with queen-size bed, which is located on the upper floor, right under the roof and has the charm of exposed wooden beams (with air con); this room has a wooden desk and office chair.
Also :
a living room, a dining room (can also be used as a separate office), a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a separate toilet.

The Ecusson, the historical center of Montpellier, has indescribable charm with architecture and historical landmarks everywhere, but also cool bars, squares and restaurants.
In the close neighborhood of the appartement, the Saint-Pierre cathedral (with its twin convivial pillars and its 12 chapels) and the school of Médecine together make a unique architectural unit. A bit further is the famous (and hype) Canourgue square or the promenade du Pérou with its 300-years old arch of Triumph.
300m away, the "jardin des Plantes", commissioned by king Henry the IVth in 1593, is one of the oldest public gardens in France.

Our flat is on the 3rd and 4th floors of an old building. The stairs inside the building can be quite steep so this rental is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES (very young children or elderly people).

Due to local regulations (5 historical monuments in a 200m radius), the compressors of our aircons are inside the apartment. Therefore the aircons ought to be used during the day so at to keep the flat fresh, and turned off during bedtime.

The appartment is in a first class location in the mainly pedestrianised old town of Montpellier, perfect for exploring the city on foot.It is located on the top floor of the building accessible only by steps. Being on the top floor made the appartment very quiet at night, making for a good night’s sleep. The apartment was comfortable, clean and spacious and the communication with the owner was excellent.There is a superb small restaurant (Ikal) literally round the corner and a really nice boulangerie within a couple of minutes walk close by Place de La Canouruge. We loved both our time in the appartment and Montpellier and would love to return again one day.

We had a really great time in Montpellier and in Jean-François Apartment. It is very well eqiupped, clean and spacious. The Location in the heart of the city is extremly practicable and the view of the "Cathedrale St. Pierre" is amazing. d in thr in the heaet amazing.to

Amazing stay

Loved the property. Old building but apartment renovated. Spectacular views of the cathedral right in front. Has all facilities as described and bonus air conditioning units really appreciated, although using shutters kept the apartment surprisingly cool. Vibrant restaurants and bars a short walk away as was the tram line. We would return in a heartbeat. Owner communication, checkin very professional.

This apartment is ideally situated in the historical quarter, very close to a tram stop, le Jardin des Plantes and a variety of bars/restaurants. Our host was very easy to contact and very responsive to queries. The apartment was extremely clean. It was very well equipped. I think the kitchen in “real life” is far better than the photographs show. The apartment was quiet and there was no noise disturbance from neighbours. I would suggest that given the stone staircase up to the third floor apartment and then to the top floor bedroom once inside the flat this is not accommodation for anyone with impaired mobility/ vision. There is no hand rail on any of the stairs. My husband and I would be more than happy to stay in this apartment if we came back to Montpellier and it really does have spectacular views from the bedroom / lounge windows.

Excellent location!

We had a wonderful stay in Montpellier. We greatly enjoyed the view of the cathedral from the apartment window and hearing the bells. The kitchen was smaller than we prefer but the apartment is well located for walking to many sights, restaurants, cafes and more. We had no trouble with climbing the stairs to the top floor and, overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We had easy communication with the host prior to our stay, and we will definitely return to Montpellier. Thank you!!

Photography cannot capture the magic of this stay! It faces a grand cathedral on its courtyard and old cobblestone streets, closed to thru car traffic. 2 lovely cafes near the door leading upstairs to the apartment. In the heart of the city, everything is picturesque. The room with a view is dreamy, thick stone walls and floors, windows with wooden shutters to keep out the sun, subtle decor, modern accommodations, and a combo of fans and a/c units to cool it down when you're there in the summer. You are staying in the old urban core, but once inside it is quiet, home with elegance and artistic details that you don't find at the average B&B. I appreciated the coffee station & kitchen, nice beds and linens, sitting areas, the view...Jean has a system in place to check in and leave easily and supplies understandable instructions that were thorough and detailed. He is pleasant & available, even when we misplaced keys, causing him inconvenience and hassle, which was our error. He requires shoes off indoors and provides a shoe rack at the front door, which is something that I have tried to get my family to do forever! Though we had great weather, we easily complied.Being on the top floors of this very old building, stairs are required to get there, so it is up and down every time to come and go. Some may need to consider if it is doable. My fitness improved walking Europe & I am thankful! Some cookware was old nonstick, a minor thing that could improve for health.

This third floor walk up (You are in France, remember) is adorable, well equipped, and PERFECTLY located. I was there for two weeks by myself for French language school before my husband joined me for another two weeks. Everything you need or want is nearby and convenient. Just a short walk to Place de la Comedie and across the street from the Jardin des Plantes. The stairs to the apartment and the second bedroom are steep so this apartment will not work for those with mobility issues. I hope to stay there again next year as I continue my studies.

Romantic and spacious loft in an incredible neighborhood

The flat is exactly what the pictures show, large, with two separate bedrooms, each with a space that can be conveniently used as an office if you are a professional traveler. The view on the cathedral and place Saint-Pierre is stunning. Everything from small shops to groceries restaurants and bars is within walking distance. You can walk to the St Roch train station or take the tram. The neighborhood is quiet (which is quite a miracle in the historical quarter). Conversation with the owner on Whatsapp is very easy, the check in process is smooth. I had a great time and I will come again with some friends if I have the opportunity.

Joli duplex sur le place de la cathédrale Saint Pierre , refait à neuf avec une décoration contemporaine et sobre . La climatisation dans les 2 chambres est un vrai plus , mais est aussi très bruyante. Cuisine minimaliste . Excellent communication avec l'hôte qui est très réactif.

Je suis très heureux que ce séjour vous ait plu. Les climatisations sont effectivement bruyantes puisque la réglementation nous oblige à mettre les compresseurs dans les habitations du fait de la présence de cinq monuments historiques dans un rayon de 200 mètres. Il faut donc garder les climatisations allumées la journée pour conserver la fraîcheur dans l’appartement et pouvoir les éteindre la nuit. La cuisine n’est pas grande mais équipée de tout le nécessaire (four, congélateur, plaques vitrocéramique, deux types de cafetières, toaster, four avec fonction micro-ondes, bouilloire). La salle à manger peut servir de bureau avec une grande table située sous un puits de jour. Au plaisir de vous héberger à nouveau !

Die Wohnung liegt wirklich perfekt! In der Altstadt zwischen allen Sehenswürdigkeiten und trotzdem ruhig. Das beste: Ein Cafe direkt unten im Haus und tolle Restaurants direkt ums Eck. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war total unkompliziert und freundlich. Es hat uns wirklich an nichts gefehlt!

Bonjour je suis absolument navré que ce point de la description de l'appartement vous ait échappé avant la réservation. En effet, celui-ci est sitié aux 3è et 4è étages, les escaliers d'accès sont assez étroits et donc nous ne recommandons pas cet appartement aux personnes âgées et/ou ayant des difficultés à se déplacer.

Die Unterkunft ist herrlich am Rande der Historischen Altstadt gelegen . Sie ist darüberhinaus funktional und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. A lover of Montpellier, I own a flat there, in the heart of the historical quarter (Ecusson), on a quiet and charming square near the cathedral. I spent the Covid lockdowns in that flat and I enjoyed it very much.

L'Ecusson, the historic center of Montpellier, has an indescribable charm, with an exceptional density of historical monuments and lively squares with numerous bars and restaurants.
Immediately in front of our windows is the Saint-Pierre cathedral (with its original architecture, its two pillars, its towers and its 12 chapels) and the medical school in a row.

Going up rue Saint-Pierre, the famous Place de la Canourgue where a Relais & Châteaux (l'hôtel Richer de Belleval) has opened, then the promenade du Pérou with its 300-year-old Arc de Triomphe.
At the end of the medical school square, it is good to walk in the "Jardin des Plantes" in the shade of trees several hundred years old. Sponsored by King Henry IV in 1593, it is one of the oldest public gardens in France.

This property is ideal for staycation and remote working, as well as for a discovery of the historical center of Montpellier. Contrary to most flats in this historical perimeter, this apartment has a lot of sun and unobstructed views of the surroundings (also meaning : better intimacy). Regarding noise : there is just one restaurant on the square and it closes early in the evening .
