Lovely 1BR 2BATH overlooking the rushing creek, close to Woodstock, Saugerties

Our home and rental apartments are conveniently located just off of the main road between Woodstock and Saugerties yet tucked away, surrounded by a lovely stream. We are less than 10 minutes from HITS and 36 minutes from great skiing at Hunter. This apartment is equipped with a full living room, separate bedroom with a queen size bed looking out on the stream, 2 full baths, kitchenette and outdoor seating area. Please note the kitchenette does NOT have a cooktop or oven. Come and relax in comfort; sit by the stream or at the pool all day or take day trips to the nearby towns for art, music, shopping, movies; great restaurants and spectacular hikes in the Catskill Mountains and surrounds. Have breakfast in your cozy apartment or at your private stream side table and later sip wine at the pool. There is an outdoor sauna by the pool for your enjoyment. The apartment has television and wifi and all the basics - tea and coffee, coffee maker, microwave and frig.

This apartment is on the second floor - there is a similar apartment below on the first floor. The door between the floors can be opened/unlocked for guests wishing to rent both apartments. The apartments are attached to the owners' home, but all entrances are completely private. The apartments and a cabin (about 100 feet away) share the pool and sauna. Plenty of off-street parking.

NON SMOKERS ONLY! NO SMOKING INSIDE OR ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY.

Incredibly Comfortable and Relaxing

I will definitely book this property again. The host, Rich, was welcoming and informative about the property. I was in town for a horse show and this was exactly what I needed... all the amenities I needed and exactly as described.

Relaxing Retreat

We had a very relaxing stay at this property. Our hosts were cordial and answered the questions we had about the area. The unit we stayed it was very comfortable and quiet. We had a weather change during our stay and were able to transition from air conditioning to heat easily.

Friendly owners greeted us upon arrival to give guided tour and answer any questions we had. Beauuuutiful quiet creekside property with swimming pool and sauna. Our unit was very clean, comfortable and well equipped with thoughtful amenities including a bottle of wine overlooking the gorgeous creek. The location is a very convenient short drive to Woodstock and Saugerties or highway. It was just what anyone needing some nature healing needs. I hope to return often! Thank you R&S!

Close to Hits on the Hudson

The apartment was exactly as advertised. I came for the horse show. The location was perfect, 10 easy minutes away. The host and hostess were very accommodating. I will book it again in the future.

Room with a view

My spouse and I took a long weekend to stay in Saugerties. We planned to visit the town and also Woodstock. Our hosts greeted us upon arrival and showed us our rooms and property with amenities. Very friendly and easy to contact. They provide granola, milk and wine which is a lovely gesture and well enjoyed and appreciated! Everything is clean, well appointed, comfortable. We enjoyed the pool. The stream view from the bedroom window is wonderful. I would highly recommend this property and if we are ever in the area again I know staying here would be a perfect choice!

a little worn out

The place was quiet. The owners were very kind and attentive. The bed was comfortable, but the space was disjointed and did not feel very private. One had to walk out into a common area in order to use the half kitchen set up or the living room. The space was not locked off from other renters in a guest room suite down stairs, though I did not hear or see them. Though sanitized, the place was a little worn out: wall to wall carpeting, old over-used towels, fixtures that were really outdated and I had crawling bugs in my bedroom.

A very relaxing place to stay

We had a very enjoyable stay at Richard's house by the creek. We were greeted upon arrival and felt like we were valued guests. The apartment consists of 2 rooms and a efficiency kitchen. One room is a sitting room with a TV and full bath and the other was a spacious bedroom with another full bath and views of the creek and woods. It was quite convenient to have the two bathrooms in the unit. And my wife and I thought the bed was really comfortable as well. The location was perfect for a quick trip into Saugerties or Woodstock being about halfway between the two. Without a doubt we would stay here again.

Amazing home in the heart of Hudson Valley

Great hospitality with amazing rustic location next to a beautiful creek. The place was spacious, clean and comfortable. Rich and Sheila provided great recommendations for us to do in the area, especially handy when you have a baby. They also have a sauna and a pool.

Sounds of the river lulled us to sleep.

Rich and Sheila are such lovely people!! The grounds are beautiful with the river/stream running behind the house. Very relaxing. Next time I will bring the rest of the family and we will get to see more of the attractions as this time was all about the horse show.

Perfect experience!

My wife and I stayed at Creekside for five nights for our first extended kid free vacation. It was fabulous. The accommodations were comfortable and the hosts were personable and kind. They even delivered watermelon and grapes when we were lounging by the pool! I chose this location because the creek reminded me of a favorite childhood place. I enjoyed starting my mornings with mediations by the beautiful water. We enjoyed adventuring in the natural beauty around and loved white water tubing on the Esopus River. (Wear a helmet, not worth saving a little money - but wear water shoes or sneakers you don't mind getting wet.). There were so many delicious restaurants within 15 minutes. We tried many of them! We hope to return again soon, maybe to hike in the fall foliage and relax in the sauna that the owner is building!

Clean Place - Great Host

Great location and peaceful...

Well-located to enjoy Saugerties, Woodstock, Opus 40 and wonderful hikes. The unit was comfortable, clean and well maintained (and quiet). Rich was very responsive, welcoming and provided great area recommendations. We would happily return!

wonderful hosts and very nice apartment

We stayed in the 2nd floor apt. Linens were really nice, bed was firm and comfy. Rich and Sheila do their best to make sure your stay is enjoyable. They provided homemade granola for us and we loved it for breakfast. We were there during a heatwave and the AC in the bedroom worked wonders. My suggestion would be to add one to the TV room since the 2nd floor does get hot. All in all highly recommended and thank you to our hosts for making our stay so enjoyable.

The perfect alternative to a hotel

After trying unsuccessfully to find a hotel convenient to the HITS horse show I decided to try VRBO. I'm so glad that I used this website. I narrowed my search down to three properties but Richard replied immediately answering all of my questions so I felt comfortable booking with him. The location was less than 10 minutes to the horse show, the accommodations were immaculate and comfortable. We were also a short drive to numerous restaurants. I would absolutely stay here again in the future.

Lovely stay

We arrived relatively late but the owners were outside to welcome us when we arrived. Cozy, immaculate small apartment with a kitchenette that was just perfect for a two night stay. Two bathrooms was a plus and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. Definitely someplace we will stay again!

Reunion Weekend

My wife and I were attending my high school reunion. Our stay enhanced the weekend. The view of the stream and listening to the brook were wonderful. The apartment was well appointed and very comfortable. We enjoyed the extras such as wine and granola. We hope to be back.

An ideal vacation spot

My wife and I chose this for a short vacation. The location is ideal; it is convenient to major thoroughfares yet it feels like you are in total seclusion. The creek and wooded surroundings are a tranquil setting; we enjoyed eating outside at the picnic table. The apartment itself is nicely planned and was perfectly suited our needs. As the other reviewer mentioned, falling asleep to the sounds of the creek is a great experience. The hosts were great; I particularly gained from Rich's insights. The cleanliness and functionality of the apartment were impeccable; we enjoyed the ability to spread out and relax in the separate living room. Overall, we were very satisfied and look forward to being able to return. We would heartily recommended it to other couples!

Great little getaway apartment

This was a great weekend away from the city hustle. We especially enjoyed falling asleep to sounds of the stream right outside our bedroom. Rich and Sheila were very friendly and helpful with suggestions for activities around Catskills. Everything was very clean and well appointed from the linens to the soft towels and the cozy bed. The kitchenette in this particular apartment doesn't have a stove, but that wasn't a concern for us since we had planned to just relax and eat out this weekend. It did have the basics like a coffee machine and Rich and Sheila provided us with milk and yummy granola which was especially nice of them. The weather was disappointingly cold and rainy though, so we didn't get to enjoy the pool, which did look great. I definitely plan on coming back soon and hopefully have better luck with the weather.

We are a retired elementary principal (Rich) and a child psychologist (Sheila) who have traveled throughout the world, staying in lodgings of all sorts. We purchased this lovely property and have fully renovated it to the standards that we ourselves would have enjoyed in our travels. We are excited to share it with you and hope you love it as much as we do!

We purchased the property because of the stream, which wraps around it on three sides. Our renovations brought the sounds and the sights of the stream into the apartments and into our own dwelling (adjacent). The location is incredibly convenient - only 5 minutes to Saugerties, 7 minutes to Woodstock, 25 minutes to the Amtrak train station in Rhinecliff and minutes from some of the most beautiful hiking trails you can imagine. World class music, historic sights and the Hudson River are a short drive away. Feeling tucked away in a beautiful spot with easy access to a variety of activities made this a choice location for us. The great blue heron, wood ducks and bald eagle are some of our favorite guests. Resident bunnies help with mowing and local deer pass through regularly. We all look forward to sharing this peaceful beauty with you.

Whether you want to relax by the stream, swim in the heated pool, or hike the many gorgeous trails and waterfalls close by, this place has it all. Also close to restaurants of all types and price ranges, theater, movies, music and art galleries and workshops. Spiritual centers such as the Tibetan and Zen monasteries and a Vedanta center just up the road offer workshops and meditation instruction regularly. The Woodstock school of art is minutes away. The area provides music and arts festivals throughout the summer and fall months and we are very close to the HITS horse shows.
