OCEAN/BEACH FRONT, HUGE YARD, SUNSET VIEW


Ocean front, sunset facing, property is the only one in the area that has a huge yard and beach. 4-bedrooms, beautiful sunroom, fireplace, gazebo.

The beach in front of the house is sandy with some shells and small rocks (rocky once you get inside the water) and some of it is accessible even at high-tide. The beach is semi-private, accessible only to members of Cornfield Point, which means you might see a few people out there sometimes, especially during peak season (July/August).

Air-conditioning is via window units in the bedrooms only. Living areas have quiet oscillating fans. Most find this to be very comfortable because of consistent ocean breeze.

The neighborhood association has tennis and basketball courts as well as a big playground.

Old Saybrook is a quiet beach town that's very family friendly. It's also known for it's many great dining options.

In addition to the beach right in front of the house, there are 3 other beaches within a 10-20 min walk.

The first is the Cornfield Point community beach, which is about a 2 min walk from the house. This beach is big and sandy in and out of the water.

The second is the Town Beach, which is 10 min walk from the house. This beach is slightly bigger than the community beach and is also all sandy in and out of the water. This beach also has picnic tables and a store that sells food and beverages.

The third is called Harvey's beach which is another 10 min up the road. This popular beach is uniquely beautiful - sandy, rocky, grassy. Also, has concession stand.

The property is beautiful and it is very spacious inside! I loved the porch with all the windows. The only negative, it needed some deep cleaning. A Kleenex and crumbs were on the floor.

Initially the house and linens had not been changed but Zack took care of that as soon as possible and then refunded the days the cleaner wasn’t there. The house had an amazing view and we had our own beach and could easily walk to the town beach which was sandy in and out of the water. The house needs some updating but was very spacious and we loved the fire pit at night.

Relaxing Retreat

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The accommodations were comfortable and the sunroom was the perfect spot on a rainy day to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful view. Otherwise we were out in the yard in front of a fire enjoying it. Our host Zak was very accommodating and available for any questions we had. Would recommend to anyone wanting to relax and enjoy to coast.

It is a home full of so much character. The view is amazing and could stay on that front porch from morning till night. We would love to come back again. We only had one day to actually hang and enjoy the property and it was misty and overcast. So the porch made us feel outside anyway.

Excellent shore stay

Three generations of our family had a great time. The location is amazing, right on the sound and with what is essentially your own private beach most of the time (other than the neighborhood dogs swimming first thing). The beach is a little rocky but there’s also access to a sandy beach 2 blocks away. This is clearly a well-used house but in a way that just made us feel at ease. Easy and clear communication.

Cousins Road Trip

The backyard with ocean frontage is spectacular. We loved sitting in the rocking chairs watching the sunset as well as early morning fishermen. On arrival, the property was not clearly marked with a number and maneuvering the neighborhood was confusing. We love the quaint antique decor. However, the kitchen area was not as clean as we would have expected.

Wonderful beach house

The view from the sun porch is spectacular! We love our 10 days here. We took advantage of crabbing, fishing right in front of the house and simple beach days at the town beach. We played lots of games in the side yard. I couldn’t believe we were so lucky to get it. Stop and Shop and a Walmart are conveniently close by.

Cornfield Point House

Our second stay at the cottage. We spent a long weekend and the weather cooperated. The house is quite quirky, but has a really pleasant feel at home vibe. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen could use some updates, but was sufficient. (still need a new can opener) The porch overlooking the Sound is magical. Nice neighborhood. If you have one...bring a golf cart! Lots of golf carts about. Host is always pleasant, communicating through Vrbo. We hope to return again. Thank you Khalig Family for sharing your home.

Cornfield Point

This was a charming and cozy house. It has that quintessential cottage feel of welcome. While the cottage could use some upgrades, there was nothing that we had to have that was missing (except maybe a new can opener. Had our stay been longer I would have replaced it, but I never got out to the store). Communication with the host was excellent, all through the vrbo site. The location was so lovely. The neighborhood is quiet and great for walking our dog. Grandchildren enjoyed the yard and the beach. Thank you to Zak for opening up and sharing your Family home with us. We hope to be back!

Disappointing! Although the location was lovely, the place was ten feet from the neighborhood dog park with noisy people and their dogs arriving at 7:30 in the morning; allowing those unleashed pets to do their "business" on the beach directly in front of our rental. Inside, the house was cluttered with extra furniture and knick-knacks on every surface. While adjusting the cushions of the living room couch we found crumbs and dog hair under each cushion. Dead or dying plants and tattered furniture on the porch. There was so much stuff in this house, it appeared to be as if someone sold a house and moved all their extra things into an already furnished house. The kitchen is dark and needs more lighting. It had so much extra stuff, all old as if collected from a thrift store and tossed into the drawers. There were towels provided but no washcloths or hand towels.It was not professionally cleaned. Dirty bath rugs, carpets, etc. The pictures on VRBO were obviously taken with added bright lights before the additional furniture and other things were crammed into this house. Gary S

Its not a dog park it's a scenic outlook bench. Dogs are not allowed off leash or on the beach. The authorities have been notified of the disturbances you experienced and we are putting up cameras. Everyone's experience will be much better if we try to avoid exaggerations in our listings and reviews. The house is more cluttered than previously because my mom sold her house and will be living here most of the summer. We're working on getting it cleared out though. Hopefully, we will be able to get it back to how it looked in the pictures, but with better furniture!

Family Gathering

We loved the house, the yard, the view, and the beach. The beds were super comfortable. We found plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, buckets and shovels for the kids. We also loved our proximity to Harvey Beach down the street. We would stay again.
