Wonderful 3 BR (one queen; one with two twin beds; one smaller with full-size futon and outside entrance -- easily sleeps 6), 1 Bathroom--fully furnished cottage, recently remodeled. Large living room w/ 4 couches (one w/ pullout queen bed), great kitchen, large deck, and bulkhead all on one private acre with 100 feet of low bank Puget Sound waterfront. One fire pit near the deck overlooks the water. Electric heat on the thermostat; free-standing fireplace. Private large bulkhead with second fire pit and steps to the private beach where you can walk for miles! Pristine, you can see the sunrise, sun all day then sunset, see eagles fly, and rest in a hammock! Also great boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. 10 miles to downtown Olympia; 3 miles to markets and a small community center. We have 3 kayaks w/ oars (2 single, and 1 double w/ removable pedals) and life jackets all for your use (complimentary). Pets are allowed only with prior written permission.

We had the best time here! Patricia was so helpful and responsive to any questions we had. Sunset views from here are stunning. Watching the seals in the harbor was a bonus. The place was clean and comfortable. It’s close enough to get day trips into several national parks. We couldn’t have been happier with this place. We hope to come again soon! Love love love it here!

beautiful setting

we so appreciated the communication prior to arrival by our host. Seamless checking in and out. The view was fabulous, and the cottage is flanked by lovely neighbors. The rooms are small, but it was just fine for my husband and I and our two dogs.

Wonderful stay in Olympia

We had a perfect time at VRBO, Patricia met us there with gifts which was perfect. The place was perfect for my sister and me with a perfect view and plenty of room. A great gas fireplace to take the chill off and all the kitchen facilities you could use.

Beautiful, Restful, & Home-Like

Cozy cabin with gorgeous water views and all the amenities you could ask for. A perfect place for a reunion with friends. Lots of nearby trails to explore! Our hostess was gracious and generous. It simply was a perfect place to spend a long, relaxing weekend.

Peaceful getaway, close enough to town!

LOVED staying here. The view was just the best and the access to the water was great. Kitchen was very well appointed and I had no issues cooking from scratch. Patricia was very responsive and so generous - she even bought my baby a little pool to swim in 😊. Would definitely book again.

Beautiful and relaxing!

We stayed at this cozy beach house while waiting for our new house to close. Our kids (3 & 7) loved the little playset and the beach and spent most of the week outside. It was great! Communication with the host when a concern popped up was excellent and they promptly responded and handled the situation. We really enjoyed our stay and the view was amazing. If you want to relax and get away for a bit, this is the spot for you!

Perfect spot on the water!

Our family truly enjoyed staying at this cozy mid-century cabin right on the water. The view is incomparable. The neighborhood is quiet. It was great to have use of the kayaks, and the location is perfect for exploring the Olympic peninsula or shopping and other activities in the Olympia area. The host is well prepared for guests, readily available by phone or e-mail, and went above and beyond to leave us hospitality gifts. We had just the break we needed and felt very welcome!

Scenic and Serene

What a view!! The cabin opens up to a stunning view of Puget Sound. The quiet serenity of this property is first and foremost. We spent time just sitting out and relaxing while enjoying the breathtaking view. The cabin was well equipped and both the twin and the queen beds were very comfortable. The wildlife was entertaining and kayaking with the seal we named Jeffie was a treat. Our Yorkie was welcomed to stay with us which was important in our rental decision. The property manager was very accommodating and always available to answer any questions. We want to stay here next time when we travel to this area.

What a View!

Due to a very last minute change in our lodging plans (beyond our control)for the Thanksgiving week, we had to scramble and find a place within budget, location, and allowed our dog. Luck was on our side when we came across this rustic waterfront cabin! What a gem! It was perfect for our needs and we were still able to host Thanksgiving dinner. We had the pleasure of meeting a very friendly neighbor, fish nearby and just take in the amazing scenery. Check-in was very easy and communication with our host, Patricia was smooth. She ensured we had the little things that made our stay even more comfortable. Being that this was the first Thanksgiving in three years that our active duty USAF son could be with us, we wanted it to be special in one of his favorite areas of the country. We would definitely recommend staying at this cozy getaway!

Perfect weekend

Just had the most wonderful weekend at this cozy cottage. The host was very generous to provide fruits, a snack, & essential items for coffee. We had a late night arrival so this generosity was very much appreciated for our early wake up the next morning. The property is older but appears well maintained. I enjoyed being greeted by the nostalgic cabin smell that reminded me of my childhood family getaways. Lots of items provided to utilize while enjoying time on the property such as binoculars, beach towels, board games, and kayaks. Beds were comfortable, water hot, towels and linens well stocked, & many pots/pans/baking dishes in the kitchen. Loved the large windows and large decently shaded porch with bbq and propane fire pit to enjoy the view. Bird feeders brought many birds to the porch and a seal visited near the beach. There were more stairs than expected to get down to the beach (spiral style staircase). Less mobile individuals may have a hard time, like my mum did, however there were still many things for her to enjoy next to the cottage such as the porch, hammock, and a swing. Will likely return to enjoy this wonderful property again.

BEAUTIFUL OVERLOOK OF PUGET SOUND! It ends there…

Spider infested (colonies with 50 to 100 babies), deep musty smell, many dead bugs and heavy dust on floor. Bathroom totally filthy (urine and other stuff…). Crumbs and grime in kitchen, all windows dirty, old food in refer, 1” ceiling fir plank in bathroom lose (my wife saw spiders coming and going at night – critter sounds in ceiling flat roof crawl space we heard?), bathtub rusting badly at drain and other places – nasty, nasty, nasty… There for our 40th wedding anniversary; Master Bedroom – beautiful white comforter (abundant gross yellow stains), outside tree debris in sheets, ½ inch of dust/other buildup in railings, screen that doesn’t fit window holding it open (inch gaps on both sides), bedside lamp falling apart. Did not sleep on bed, too nasty and sagged with just me trying it out. Outside – George Foreman Grill with caked on meat stuff, nail heads and sharp protruding pieces of wood on patio, firepit ashes overflowing (with dried vegetation and neighbors viewing areas too close for comfort, privacy, and/or safety). We called owners once we arrived and saw all this, left them a voicemail explaining. We later found out they were out of town. Their last communication with us was that “OUR CONCERNS WERE INVALID, DON’T CONTACT US AGAIN”. No one ever came out, not even a “Professional Home Cleaner” (one that didn’t use a toilet bowl brush or cleaner, a vacuum, Windex, you get the picture). Took more pictures inside than out! We called our children in Seattle and Portland, explained the situation, and they decided it best not to spend the day at this cottage with us (my daughter is allergic to spider bites). I’m not a “LEGISTRATOR”, just an ordinary veteran (US Navy and disabled, wife 20 yrs. veteran), and in the past have been very respectful of vacation rental owners. From now on, we will not rent another cottage with even one negative review – we’ve learned an expensive lesson… both emotionally and monetarily.

Horrible Experience

I wish I could give this owner minus stars! We booked the cabin for our anniversary months in advance. It was listed as “pet friendly” and the photos showed dogs off-leash happily wandering on the deck. After we paid the pet fee and all the cost and the reservation was complete, she said our dog needs to be on leash and on the deck, tied somewhere, and dogs are not allowed inside! Is that the definition for “pet-friendly”? What family goes on vacation with their dog kept outside on leash? And there was not a single word about this in the contract that we signed. A few days before our vacation she started pushing us to cancel if we cannot accept this rule. We explained how important it is for us to have our dog with us inside and this is our anniversary and we had planned for it months ago, she finally accepted to allow the dog inside but only on-leash on the deck. In all the communications back and forth she kept pushing us to cancel. We accepted all her rules. Then she sent a message that she is not interested in renting her cabin to us, without our consent and permission, she cancelled the reservation! After all the unacceptable rules that we ended up accepting, she just decided to cancel on her own without our approval. The only reason we didn’t decide to cancel in the first place was that it was only a few days left and we could not find another place for a long weekend (Labor Day Weekend), since everywhere is booked. So our months of planning for our anniversary just went away like that. The most interesting thing is that she listed the cabin back for those days as soon as she cancelled our reservation, for a much higher rate than what she rented it to us! Now we know why she was pushing hard to get it cancelled. Luckily we found a much nicer cabin. VRBO has put a claim on this owner. Stay away from them and their cabin if you are looking for a real pet-friendly house with no last minute cancelation without your consent.

Wonderful stay on the water, Olympia, Washington

We had a wonderful weeklong stay in the cottage on the water in Olympia. It was conveniently located and had all of the amenities that we needed for Comfort. The owners were delightful to deal with. We actually had a wonderful coffee with them and got to meet Patricia and Dana personally.

Peaceful and enjoyable

Small cottage set on side of a hill overlooking the inlet. Peaceful setting in a close nit neighborhood. Saw lots of different wildlife, native birds on the inlet. It was very interesting that the tide changes and how different the inlet looks at low tide. If you are an older adult with mobility issues, not a good choice for getting down to the bulkhead to the water due to sloping and stairs. But does have a great view from the deck and below out to the inlet and surrounding mountains.

Visiting our Evergreen State College Student

We loved the location of the property and the beautiful views of the sound. We were there visiting our daughter who is a student at The Evergreen State College which is just on the other side of the bay. There are kayaks to use during your stay and if the weather was better we would have rowed across to the beach at the college campus. If is to chilly to enjoy the outdoors you can relax with a book or a puzzle or use the fire pit. They left all the items for us to make smores around the fire pit which we fully enjoyed. The house had everything you need while on vacation, the kitchen was well equipped and there was a bowl of oranges and a few snacks and beverages when we arrived. Stop by the great drive thru coffee stand down the road and go 1 exit over for a wonderful meal at the Shipwreck Café. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Patricia's beach cottage and we will defiantly come back for another visit.

City Escape

This place is a great setting for a peaceful stay away from the hullabaloo of city life (although it's still close enough to access if you need it). If you want all the modern amenities of a modern vacation rental, this place is not for you. If you are seeking the calm respite of nature in a quiet historic cottage, then you won't be disappointed. This place has everything you need with the very basic upgrades keeping it simple so you can enjoy the wonders of the nature that surrounds you. Patricia makes it an easy, carefree and enjoyable stay. We will return again and again!

5 Stars for Gorgeous Waterside Cottage

We adored staying at this cottage on the water. Everything was so comfortable, the instructions from Patricia were easy to follow, and we loved being right on the water. We saw wildlife, we took the kayaks out for a short paddle on the smooth water of the sound, we got cozy in the rain with the provided blankets and played Scrabble. Patricia gifted us with the makings for S'mores and that was an absolute delight. We highly recommend and would certainly stay again.

My husband and I have lived in Olympia for many years, and we are a professional couple. We have looked for a waterfront retreat for over 15 years. We are absolutely delighted with this beautiful cottage. Once we purchased it, we spent months remodeling it, leaving the interesting parts and maintaining and updating the plumbing, electricity and other features that make it very comfortable and simply fun to stay here!

It was one of 4 cottages on the point, with each cottage standing on 1.3 private acres. The point of land on which the cottage sit (Rocky Point, for tidelands research!) had been owned by Native Americans, whose tribes came together to winter each year. Two of the cottages over time became very grand houses, and two of the cottages, including ours, have been remodeled and enjoyed in their simple state! It is hard to describe the beauty, pristine nature of this cottage. We also have a very large deck with fire pit, large fire pit overlooking the water (by lawn swing in photos) and a large bulkhead at water's edge with another strong fire pit. Few steps take you from cottage to beach, or just lay in the hammock and watch eagles, herons, and other wildlife. Also canoe, kayak, fish, beach walk for miles, shell, .l..

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Cottage sits at water's edge - from the deck it feels as if one is standing on the prow of a ship! When you are at the cottage it seems as if you have been transported to another peaceful, simple and fun world. But very comfortable - fine linens, towels, everything you need to cook and serve food and beverages, sit on bulkhead and beach, treat yourself! If you're a kayaker, we have 2 new REI single kayaks (one sit-on-top), and one Hobie double kayak w/ removable pedals, all sitting on the bulkhead for your use. If you bring your own it is easy to bring it down to the water.
