We had a great time! The house was very clean and kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. The pool and fishing were so fun! There was also an outdoor TV so we were able to watch the World Cup from the pool! We caught several different kinds of fish and watching the sunset every evening was beautiful! There are kayaks and pool floats available for use, while we didn’t use any, they looked like fun! The kids aged 12,12, and 10 enjoyed the house so much! Anytime we left they would ask to go back. Kristen was the most responsive host I’ve ever had when renting, she is awesome! Thanks for everything Kristen!

The Sunshine Retreat was clean, well maintained and tastefully decorated. The ice maker and pool was a nice touch and would really come in handy in the hot summer months. There was plenty of room and playthings for a larger group and a private pier with fishing and crabbing equipment.

The house had everything needed! Beautiful location and close to restaurants and shopping. Very clean and loved the heated pool! We have stayed at many houses and this one is at the top! Thanks for everything.

There was a welcome basket full of snacks. My daughters enjoyed it! The house was very clean and we felt very safe there. Everything was perfect! We really enjoyed being able to access the kayaks also. This house was beautiful and we will definitely be back.

Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. We had everything that we needed. The home is comfortable and decorated in such a beautiful way. The views are amazing… fabulous sunsets and sunrises. Sunshine retreat is a wonderful home away from home. Thank Kristen for a truly wonderful weekend.

Overall the property was great! The pictures are exactly what you see when you get there. The sun rises of the front corner of the house, allowing a more shaded morning sitting in the dock. The sun sets in the back corner of the property so there is not much shade to be had during the later part of the day, good thing there is a nice pool to swim in! My kids went fishing in the morning before the sun came up over the house and caught some croaker and pigging perch which was fun for them on small rods. I fished into the late night/early morning with the lights on and caught some specs and a small redfish. The kayaks were great to go take out on calm mornings and evenings as well. There were also crab traps on the dock that we used and caught some keeper blue crabs with. The interior of the house was nice and spacious for a family of 5. We used the countertop ice maker, W/D, coffee maker and many of the extras that are stocked in the kitchen. Now, keep in mind it’s the Texas coast in August with the sun setting on the back portion of the house that’s has the most windows, entry door and bunk room. It does get up to 74/75 inside no matter what you set it on. We used a clip on fan for the bottom bunk during the day and early evenings. The host said they are adding more ceiling insulation this winter so that will help. All in all it was a fun time for the family! Great location!

A week of family time at a great location

The house was clean and ready for our family to begin our annual vacation in Rockport. The pool was in great condition and fishing was good. Overall we had a wonderful stay and we plan on returning next year.
